ActionScript 3.0 :: Fade Out External SWF On MouseEvent?

I have a simple gallery with 3 buttons.
Each button calls in a different SWF. The SWF fades into place, and when you click on a different button it is removed and a new one fades into the same position.
All done with AS3 (below). What I just can't manage is how to fade the SWF out before the

I have 2 buttons on the stage whose each MouseEvent load a different external swf when clicked. In an attempt to get the current swf to fade out and new swf to fade in on button click, I vainly added a Tween to the function but to no avail.
As it is now, when the movie starts, the button 1 swf fades in, however, when button 2 is clicked, the new swf is loaded but the old swf does not fade.

I have several stage event handlers to enable mouseovers over several dynamically generated moviecilps on the stage that then change their alpha to indicate the mouse is over that particular mc... fairly trivial (mcOver handler). Additionally, I also want to know what MC is clicked, so I update a public variable (public var activemc:Number) with the ID of the dynamic movieclip when the mouse is over it (using a hitTest to check, which is why the EventListener is added to stage and not to the MC), which is checked in the mcClicked handler:This is in the constructor:

//stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, stopDrawing);
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, mcOver);[code]....
However, the mouseover behaviour (alpha 0 when over, alpha 1 when out) stops working as soon as I click on any movieclip on the stage, and the mcClicked ID checking (below) stops working completely. I don't know if this is to do with focus:

I then tried adding the event handler for the stage mouse_move again and this gets the mouseover working again but only for 1 more click, after which it stops again:

I have a MovieClip (call it base_mc) which is under a bunch of other MovieClips (call them subclips). The MovieClips on top are all mouseEnabled with MOUSE_OVER, CLICK, etc, event handlers. I want to capture the event of MOUSE_OVER (or ROLL_OVER) on the base_mc as well. Any time I am over one of the subclips I am also over the base_mc clip. How can I capture this event?

I'd like to know what is the difference between MouseEvent.CLICK & MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN. Because when i use MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN for a button to set full-screen view its doesn't work, instead of this MouseEvent.CLICK works. So what was the reason.

I'm making a button for the first time, and I wanted to use a full click to drive it. However, when I use addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClickHandler); nothing happens when I click on it. When I use (with the rest of the code being identical) addEventListener(MouseEvent. MOUSE_ down, onClickHandler); it works like a charm.

What is the difference between MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP and MouseEvent.CLICK? Why should I use one of these over the other?

I have a MOUSE_DOWN handler that creates a CLICK event listener on a child object. Naturally, as soon as you release the mouse button, if you happen to be over the child object, the CLICK event fires.I was disappointed to discover that event.stopImmediatePropagation doesn't interrupt the CLICK event from registering the MOUSE_DOWN as part of its detection cycle. It makes sense that it doesn't but still... disappointing.A MouseEvent.CLICK consists of detecting a MOUSE_DOWN on the object and then if it's followed by a MOUSE_UP without leaving the object, he event fires. I had hoped that by cancelling the MOUSE_DOWN event, it would clear that out of the CLICK buffer, but no such potatoes, alas.This could all be handled with a flag and a couple more MOUSE_UP and MOUSE_DOWN handlers, but dang, smacks of effort

I am so stuck on the simplest of transitions! I've worked on this for a week with no success. I have a main index.swf with a nav menu loading external swfs into a movieclip for each section. I would like to simply fade out the loaded swfs into the new one, in the same moviclip. I don't know if this is possible because upon loading the new swf's they wipe away the loaded swf completely. I've tried
contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, loadProdComplete); event listeners to make the loaded swf fade after the new one is completed but same deal, the loaded swf is wiped clean and I can't get a fade transition between the two. My code:

i no, this topic looks like the one i found here, but it is not tottally explanatiory, before the question its nice beiing a part od the community. My question is, in my background i created a movieclip background and inside of that i put the images that i liked to transition one and than comes the other, but this is a lot of time just making the tweenings, it makes no sence having this work, could someone give me a code out there that i could make this background movieclip getting the images from a folder imgbackground from xml? How to create a xml file to the code get this images?

I have a movie that calls other movie clips with a preload and fade for each external mc called. but after you call and load the swf in the container it disappears aftre about 30 seconds it disappears if you dont do anything and then it comes back after about 30 seconds. I am using this script for the preload object and fade.

Then this is on every frame to make it use the preload and fade in the new loaded swf after it shows it loading.

Also I dont know if this has anything to do with this problem but when I load an external swf it does not show any actions i have in there or any text but does show images and shapes but not dynamic text boxes or fades or anything like that. I have listed the link to the main movie swf and the map1.swf that it calls when you click on floor plan so you can see when you view the map1.swf by itself there is more stuff that does not show up when loaded into the main swf. Whenever someone clicks on a nav button, the corresponding .swf file loads into a blank movie clip I have on my home page. What I'd like to do is have the content on the current page fade out before the content on the new page fades in. I've used Flash for years, but this is the first web site I've built entirely in Flash, and I don't quite know how to approach this. I'm assuming ActionScript would be the easiest and most efficient way to produce this effect, but I don't know how to go about doing it. Is there a way to tell the current movie to go to a certain frame in the movie and play it before loading the next external movie clip?

flash version: CS3 AS2 Im having trouble making the pages for a website im working on. I have a row of buttons, and I want each one to open its corrisponding page ie. contact_us_button to open contact_us movie clip. the thing is I want each page to transition in and out. so when I click contact us, the contact us movie clip fades in and stops. When I click about us, the contact us movie clip fades out and about us fades in.
Is the way to do this to make each page movie clip have a fade start and fade end, and have it stop before the fade end, and on another page click continue playing the current clip to get the fade out and then open the new page movie clip?

I have a tweened movie which plays on a loop. A click on the image area stops the movie and the image fades nicely from alpha 100 to alpha 0. A second click brings the image back immediately to alpha 100 and the clip continues. I would like the movie image to fade back in from alpha0 to alpha 100 before it re-starts; (the reverse of the fade out). At the moment the re-appearence of the image is a crude jump. So far my ill informed tinkering has not worked.

I simply have one FLVPlayback component in the background and a movieclip on the layer above with an FLVPlayback component inside it. The first FLV component is constantly looping a five-second video. So all I need is for the movieclip containing the second FLV component to load the right file, fade in, and when the video ends, fade out. Absolutely all of that works... apart from the fading in. What I noticed was that my movieclip was fading in correctly, but the FLVPlayback component was empty and transparent until the fade had finished - then it played the clip. how to do this effect.I have a movie instance named "sparkles_mov" as in internal movie, not loading externally.It's placed multiple times on the stage.I need an AS code for the first frame of the entire stage that makes all instances fade in at a specific frame number (5), last for XXX amount of seconds and then all of the instances to fade out at a specific frame number (70).Is this possible? I have all instances fading in using this AS code placed on the frame that they enter on but the fade out never works, the just abruptly disappear:

I would like to fade in and out and object with the colorTransform-method. When I apply the colorTransform to my object it does fade out the thing but not fade in. At first I set the alpha of the bitmapData to 0 (for the fade in-effect). After applying the colorTransform it does nothing. No fade in. Otherwise when I set the alpha of the bitmapData to 100 and let it fade out it works.
