i no, this topic looks like the one i found here, but it is not tottally explanatiory, before the question its nice beiing a part od the community. My question is, in my background i created a movieclip background and inside of that i put the images that i liked to transition one and than comes the other, but this is a lot of time just making the tweenings, it makes no sence having this work, could someone give me a code out there that i could make this background movieclip getting the images from a folder imgbackground from xml? How to create a xml file to the code get this images?

View 9 RepliesI have a difficult question and I have searched all over but cant find a solution.I have 3 movieclips:a) circle, filled in blue, black outlineb) circle, half filled in blue, black outlinec) circle, no fill, black outlineI have one instance of a movieclip moving randomly about the stage and want it to fade between a) b) and c) (based on a user defined input array eg circleArray[a, b, b, a, c, b, a] - if that makes sense?)The only way I am thinking is to have a movieclip that contains each of the 3 movieclips and then fades each to alpha 0 with a black outline at the bottom layer. And then referencing each faded movieclip with a label?

I've managed to make a simple slideshow in Flash, however the images just flick sharply to the next. Could you tell me how to do a fade transition?
View 2 RepliesI have placed each of these mc's on their own layer and placed them in the first frame of their layers. I used the _visible = true/false property to show them when needed.
I want a Fade transition to occur when the next mc is visible. So from mc1 to mc13 they will play in a linear fashion and Fade in-between visibility.
I cannot find how to have multiple mc's use the Fade transition and I can only get the transition to work with Fading IN or OUT not both. I would like to have the mc Fade IN then when the sound is complete, it would Fade OUT and the next mc would Fade IN and so on through out all 13 mc's.
I usually do this with code and timeline, but i need to do this in one frame with only buttons. so for example
btn1.onRelease = function(){
bg_con._alpha = 0;
bg_con.alphaTo(100, 0.5, "linear");
loadBitmapSmoothed("images/bg4.jpg", bg_con);
}
so that fades in nicely, now i need it to fade out when the next button is pressed and then that button fades in and out, etc.
i am making a website where i need to fade full screen images. At the moment i am using TweenMax engine to change their alpha, but i think its slow on some computers ... Here is the website ( not finished ), you can see what i mean. I tried using colorTransform to change images alpha, but its even slower:
var ct:ColorTransform = new ColorTransform(1,1,1,0.95,0,0,0,0);
onEnterFrame = function(){
_root.PrevBitmapData.colorTransform(_root.PrevBitm apData.rectangle,_root.ct);

ok im trying to create a clip of a dot that fades randomly between four pre defined colours whilst also randomly varying in the size range 0 - 100%. i am trying to create a smooth size tween also.this is my attempt:
size = random(100);
setProperty ("purple", _xscale, size);
setProperty ("purple", _yscale, size);
myArray = ["0x399FB6", "0xCBC5D7", "0x5A3084", "0xffffff", "0x399FB6"];
myArray[0] = 0x399FB6;

I have my images loaded into a mc with a fade transition using mx.transitions. As the image fades there is a streaking line which rolls across the image. What causes this?
View 3 RepliesI have 2 buttons on the stage whose each MouseEvent load a different external swf when clicked. In an attempt to get the current swf to fade out and new swf to fade in on button click, I vainly added a Tween to the function but to no avail.
As it is now, when the movie starts, the button 1 swf fades in, however, when button 2 is clicked, the new swf is loaded but the old swf does not fade.
Code:
import fl.transitions.Tween;
import fl.transitions.easing.*;
var image:Loader = new Loader();

i read the Preloader and Transition for Dynamic Files tutorial by claudio and i tried to use twise in the project. it works fine, the buttons work, in fact i did not change the code in the tutorial_complete.fla, i did the same for the photos.fla, and it works fine, but when i published the tutorial_completes.wf, i came with these two problems:
when i click the photos button in the tutorial_complete.swf, it load the photos.swf, but the code in the photos.swf does not work. it tried to change the name of the instance names and the labels, but nothing. the effect in the main buttons is great, but there is a broblem in the in the photos.swf buttons. files zipped here:[URL]
I used the transition for dynamic files tutorial and it works great.I only have a problem..ause it is dynamic i'm not able to use normal text, bgcolor and scrollable textfields in the external swf's and I want to
View 1 RepliesThis pertains to the Preloader and Transition for Dynamic Files tutorial here on kirupa.
I've used this tutorial many times before but now for the first time i am using navigation that is inside a movie clip. instead of directly on the stage. I'm having problems with the content loading it just always says loading. Is there something that i would have to change in the transition code or my button code? all the code for my buttons is inside of nav_mc movie clip. here is my fla. to take a look at
I am currently accomplishing this by switching between two NetStream, NetConnection, VideoPlayer combinations. The problem is that it is considerably cumbersome. Is there a better (easier) way of doing this? I looked into the play2() method, but it doesn't seem to have any way of overlapping the streams to create a seemless fade-in/fade-out.
View 1 RepliesI've found this tutorial on kirupa.com and i can't use it in flash as3 ( its as2 source code) . Dont know how to transform it into as3.

I've change _root. with MovieClip(root).
I can't do anything with this:
Code:
onClipEvent (enterFrame) { if (!loaded && this._url != _root._url) {
if (this.getBytesLoaded() == this.getBytesTotal()) {
loaded = true;

I used the 'Preloader and Transition for Dynamic Files' Tutorial from the tutorials section
here is a link [URL] and have to say, I learned soooo much from it, and incorporated it into my website [URL]. How to put a percentage preloader for each of the sections when they load. The heavier the .swf file you are loading, the longer it takes, and I've gotten comments about this saying they would like to know how long they have to wait until they see something.
I'm trying to do a transition that applies to all the external .swf's that will be loaded into an area in the main movie, which basically "eats" the current external .swf and then opens to show the new chosen .swf. Therefore I have one problem: the Actionscript needed for both the buttons and for that transition clip, in the middle point. By middle point I refer to that point where it has just "ate" the existing .swf and will now start to display the chosen .swf
So I would need something like - on hitting a button, it telling the movie clip to be placed in an imaginary level or something like that, and then I'd place an action in that middle point of the transition movie clip, to display what's on the immaginary "level". Until there, the previous .swf is visible (though the transition is sort of "eating it", hehe) I know there are some threads with situations that are alike, but I haven't found the same type of situation..
how to go about loading in a swf using xml for the path but loading it into a movieclip with a transition. I have an animation set up for the transitions which needs to mask the loaded in swf. do i load in the swf into the movieclip then load the transition into the movieclip? how do use code to set the animation to mask the loaded in swf or do i set up the movieclip with the mask in it already?

I have an animation set up for the transitions which needs to mask the loaded in swf.
do i load in the swf into the movieclip then load the transition into the movieclip?
how do use code to set the animation to mask the loaded in swf or do i set up the movieclip with the mask in it already?
I'm not having trouble doing the transition. However, I'm not doing it the way its described in the tutorial on the main site. I dont have a frame to tween to as an intro, or a frame to tween to as an "extro" when another SWF is loaded. I am having a SWF tell level0_ the dimensions of some MC right before a different MC is loaded, then level0_ tells the new loaded MC (inside the new SWF) to Tween from the dimensions it just recieved (old SWF) to the dimensions of the new loaded MC. It works great.. its completely dynamic.
The problem is that the MC flashes when the next SWF is loaded, which is obviously it resizing to the old SWF's dimensions, so it can Tween to the new dimensions. Theres got to be a way around this! I've seen dozens of sites tween perfectly, do they use the intro/extro method, or is their entire site in one SWF? or is this possible the way I want it?
heres a gander at the code:
old SWF Dimensions sent to _level0 before unloading:
Code:
_level0.tempWidth = _level5.contentBox_MC._width;
_level0.tempHeight = _level5.contentBox_MC._height;
_level0.tempX = _level5.contentBox_MC._x;

I am trying to use the code to make a top level navigation with subnav options.I have gone to the next level "_root.container.containerContent"For this subnav, I have got the SWF loading, but then it will not transition to the next SWF at the subnav level.I am not really sure which parts of the code need to changed, but I know that what I have changed allows the SWF to load, just not transition.This is a sample of the button code:
Code:
on (release) {
if (_root.container.currMovie == undefined) {

I did a flash movie with this code
////inizializzo le movie clip gallery_target 1 e 2
gallery_target1._alpha = 0;

gallery_target2._alpha = 100;
gallery_target2.attivo = true;//non sarebbe necessario settarla perch se attiva la 1 ovviamente non lo la 2..

I'm hoping someone out there with a wee problem-ette I'm having with loading external swf's with a transition. I've worked through Voetsjoeba's tutorial and have found it works excellently. However, I'm putting together a site and using it to teach myself some more in-depth AS and I'm trying to get my head around which bits of script work with which. I've attached my main site SWF and one of the external SWFs that I'm loading in so you can see what I'm up to.
View 1 RepliesIn reference to the question below I used this tutorial to accomplish some of my AS goals: http:[url]....The question based off of this tutorial is how to correctly target an external movie clip with buttons that are not on the main time line. What would be the approproiate path for the script below for the external swf (work.swf)?
on (release) { if (_root.currMovie == undefined) { _root.currMovie = "work"; container.loadMovie("work.swf"); } else if (_root.currMovie != "work") { if (container._currentframe >= container.midframe) { _root.currMovie = "work"; container.play(); } } }
right direction but theres still something I'm missing.At this point, I am able to load the initial swf into a container MC and store that info into acurMovie variable. When another button is pressed, curMovi checks if it equals event.target.name, if it doesn't equal "curMovie", it plays the existing movies outro What I thought I could do was create a conditional statement checking if the outro has reached the total frames, and if so, load the next swf. This isnï workingThis is what I have so far:
Code:
import flash.display.MovieClip;
//Load initial file

Im trying to update the Transitions between External SWFs tutorial for AS 3 (link below).
