I am making a fullscreen "screensaver" project (using screentime, FYI). I have some mcs on the stage that I want to scoot down to the bottom left, right or whatever on the screen. I want these elements to position themselves differently based on the users resolution and aspect ratio of their monitor. (for example: whether the monitor is 800x600, 4:3 OR 1366x768, 16:9, I want a text field or mc to be 10 pixels for the bottom and left of the screen).
i have seen websites with fullscreen .swf and i dont know what kind of script they used to have the movie clips positioned constantly i.e. 20px from right border of the screen while all people have different resolutions.
I've landed a project which is centered around building a custom video player with some special functionality (so I can't just use the default Flash video player, unfortunately). I have two small 'problems' in the sense that I could probably solve them myself, but I'd like some input on best practice for solving them:(The project is for Flash Player 10 and the video is intended to run inside a browser.)
Toggling between normal / fullscreen playback Ok, so my custom video player needs to be able to toggle between fullscreen and normal embedded-in-webpage player size. How does fullscreen toggling currently work in AS3 -is there a specific AS3 method for fullscreening a specified video object in the swf (without stretching the video player UI in the swf itself), and if so, does it automatically black out the background if the screen format doesn't match the video format? - or do I need to download a class for this?
Positioning video player UI when going fullscreen As opposed to YouTube, I want the player UI to still show up when the video is toggled to fullscreen mode - but as mentioned above, I don't want to stretch its size along with the video. So is there a best practice for repositioning the video player UI to the vertical bottom and horizontal center of the screen when the user clicks full screen? I'm not entirely familiar with what happens to the Flash stage when it goes full screen,. How to deal with not knowing the coordinates of the vertical bottom/horizontal center when screens have different ratios and resolutions?

I asked this question yesterday but I found out that my problem is using fullscreen my goal is 2 mc 2 buttons : if btn 1 is clicked mc1 fullscreen and mc2 appears at the right bottom corner on top of mc1 if btn 2 is clicked mc2 fullscreen and mc1 appears at the right bottom corner on top of mc2 stage.swapChildren or setChildIndex is the way but with the fullScreen I had this error appears
Im working on an Xbox Live flash gamercard. Ive ran into a problem. I can't position each of the MovieClips ive genereated from the loop. I get the error:
Code: Select all1120: Access of undefined property rpg0. 1120: Access of undefined property rpg1. 1120: Access of undefined property rpg2.
I'm working with a script that loads from an XML some jpgs, these ones once loaded move to their positions.
[Code]....
the problem is that i would like put all these movies well aligned in rows and columns, i've seen it's possible to do this with a nested for.. loop, something like this
I have multiple nested movieclip in its own different movieclip, and i would like to arrange them accordingly. My idea was to use the localToGlobal function. I can get the position of the MC on stage, but how do I use the function and place the MC based on stage?
cAPos = new Point(objectA.y); newcAPos = objectA.localToGlobal(cAPos); cBPos = new Point(objectB.y); newcBPos = objectB.localToGlobal(cBPos); objectB.y=objectA.y+objectA.height <-- based on stage
how can I adjust the _x and _y area positioning of this set of duplicate movieclips? 710 x 143 are the dimensions I would like the duplicateMovieClip to take place, but it is not the positioning. How can I fix this?
I was asked to create a screensaver capable to run on both win and mac. I am ActionScript developer, so I prefer to solve this using Flash/SWF. I know this is possible using several tools:Projectors such as Zinc or SWF Studio (os independent, $$$)Converters creating screensavers that use the Flash Player (one converter per os necessary, requires Flash Player on user machine, freeware)Adobe Air created screensavers (os independent, requires Air on user machine, no costs)I do not have control over the machines the screensaver will run. So everything needs to be simple and safe. I would go for option 2, but I am not sure if the tools I discovered are reliable.What tool you recommend to create the screensaver descibed using existing SWF files?Is there another (single) tool to create the screensaver without using Flash/AS/SWF?
I'm trying to imitate screensaver behavior using the timer class. A movie clip should play after 5 seconds of not being idle. The problem is everytime I go to the homepage, the timers stack and the adspace runs multiple times. (try switching between button 1 and 2 over and over) timer.reset(); doesn't seem to work for me. Here is my code and FLA file:
I've been trying to create a screensaver that dynamically loads images and text from a server, but it seems like I am not able to load anything outside of my own computer at all.t seems like the problem is coming from the Security Sandbox, the sandbox type for the screensaver stays "Local_with_file" meaning it can access local files but cannot access files from the network. What can I do to make the Sandbox "Local_with_network" as I do not need to load anything locally, but images and text from a server.
I am working with a site that's similar to : [URL]. When you click on Wedding Site and then go to the gallery, you will see the pics loading full screen and the navigation bar on top of the pics. What I have done is I have made each one of this pics a separate .swf file so they load individually once they are called using the " loadMovie("pic1.swf") code line. On layer 10 (being at the very top) I have my menu so it will always display on top of anything else. Now on layer 3, frame x I have a movieclip called : fotos_mc, inside this fotos_mc on layer 1, frame 1 I call the swf using the code above: "loadMovie(pic1,swf"); However when the picture loads, it covers the full screen on top of my navigation menu, on top of my logo etc. Which I dont understand why if the layer where I have placed my fotos_mc is under layer 10 which contains my menu and my logo.
i'm trying to get an effect in flash for the web where my swf in my html page is sitting centrally, but still has elements coming in at the edge of the page as parts of the site, refer to the source of the following site The source html defies my first assumption that the butterflies on the intro page were in a seperate swf. But it also states that the swf is set to display with 100% width & height which is confusing meAlso take a look at the main part of the site, it has elements coming in from the edge of the page. Its like some parts of the swf scale but others dont, anyone know whats going on there? i'm really curious and would like to build something similar!
I want to make a fullscreen movie with 4 movieclips in each corner of the browser... The movieclips have to stay the same size... No resizing depending on the users screen resolution.
I have noticed that mi screensaver doesn't start while I'm watching videos on YouTube.I'm using Windows 7.This is the test:Set Windows screensaver to 1 minute.Browse to YouTube and play a video longer than 1 minute; ideally much longer.Note that your screensaver doesn't come up after the specified time (1 minute).I've tested using Firefox, Chrome and IE8. My Flash Player version is 10.3. (Youtube is using flash to play the videos). The same happens whether I watch the video in full-screen or not.
in flash AS1,2 you just input this code Stage.scaleMode="noScale";
on a frame of the main stage to prevent scaling of movieclips on fullscreen.I tried the same thing in AS3 and its not working for me. so my question is how would i apply this in AS3?
I have a swf inside a html page. If I open it with IE or FF and put it into full screen I can exit full screen with the ESC button.Now if i try this with my WinForms app and WebBrowser (or ShockWave Flash Object) it's not working??
i did a search on google to try to convert swf to scr but all i can find is software that you have to pay $40 for. Screensavers are silly little things so I'm not really interested in shelling out $40 for em. does anyone know of a free conversion tool or trick that you can do to get windows xp to play a screensaver from an swf file?
ive made a screensaver for work, and i was wondering if anyone could help, basically ive set it up with 2 scenes first scene u enter the details of a pc, memory processor hdd, etc, then on scene 2 with the help of a chatbox it sends the text from scene 1 over to scene 2, now my problem is everytime i switch the pc off, i then have to re-enter the data, is there any way of saving the data so when the movie is clicked on it comes up as a default with the data from the last input??? or can i save the text, and open it in the flash movie??
I have a very large projector movie with many loaded in swf files. I want to make it so as you are reading and viewing the whole movie the screensaver is not active. I then want it so after 10 minutes of no activity a screensaver (or movieclip in the movie) starts playing and then goes away when there is activity again. How do I do this? What would be the best way... just have the screensaver (movieclip) the only thing in the first scene and it just goes to this after 10 minutes?
I have been asked to create a screensaver that will show a different movie/message all week, then at the end of the week I would need to have it revert back and do the same all over.All 7 movies (one for each day of the week) will be located inside the SWF file, I just need to know if it's possible for the movies to change over with the computers time and date.
