ActionScript 3.0 :: Stage To Prevent Scaling Of Movieclips On Fullscreen?
Mar 3, 2011
in flash AS1,2 you just input this code Stage.scaleMode="noScale";
on a frame of the main stage to prevent scaling of movieclips on fullscreen.I tried the same thing in AS3 and its not working for me. so my question is how would i apply this in AS3?

I'm having a little trouble getting my swf file to fully scale in fullscreen mode. It doesn't look like the stage is scaling and my picture gets cut off. Attached is an image and the code also. It goes full screen at its native resolution fine but gets cut off when i try to scale.

import flash.display.StageScaleMode;

how do I code stage resize with scaling movieclips? I can do stage resize and position/scale movieclips relative to stage size..but i don't how to have a scalable movieclip retain its scale relative to stage size. how do I code this? for example, i have a movieclip originally 50px wide, and the stage 100px wide..when i click the mc, it scales up to 80px wide. and when I resize the stage to 50px,(50% of stage size) i want the mc to scale to 40px too(50% of mc size).. and when I click it again to restore to it's original size, i want it to scale to 25px(50% of original size). then finally when i scale the stage back to 100px, the mc again is 50px wide.

how to proportionally scale multiple movieClips relative to the stage size.
I understand movieclip placement relative to the stage, and I have been using a code to scale MovieClips as a fullscreen background (also proportionally)
But
I can not figure out for the life of me how to scale other movieclips in relation
to the stage size.
for example I have a background_mc that proportionally scales with the stage
to fill without distortion.
HOW do I then place another MC say center aligned (I know how to do that) that will scale with the background without distortion?
Ideally I would like to place several MC's on my stage all scaling in proportion with the stage yet independently.
I have not been able to find any documentation on this. lots of tutorials on backgrounds and color fills and the like but nothing on proportional scaling of independent mc's
this is the code I use for my background_mc (can it be modified or should it be thrown out the window to achieve independent scaling?)
Code:
import flash.display.Sprite;
import flash.display.StageAlign;
import flash.display.StageScaleMode;
import flash.events.Event;

I have a project which has a background which is a swf that is scalable with the browser.However I do not want anything in the parent SWF to scale and want to position it in the top left of the browser regardless of size. how to do this in AS3 Currently it seems that the parent SWF is scaling everything as a result of a child swf on the stage.

I've search through all the threads with "scaling" and "resizing" and can't find the solution.
Basically I have a GUI element on a gallery that I don't want to scale, while the rest of the page is free to resize/scale.
I think I need to add a listener of some sort to the stage, but I'm not sure how to do this.

My class is extending Sprite and inside i have overwritten width, height, scaleX and scaleY setters and forbidden scaling if scalable property is set to false. When i test this (put it on the stage and try scaling using these methods) it works fine. However if I add it as a child of some other DisplayObjectContainer and scale it my object is scaled too. Are there other public scaling methods that I could overwrite and that I am unaware of? If not, how could I achieve this effect without overwriting it's parent container's scaling methods?

I've created a piece that uses various custom cursors depending on what "tool" the user is using (like in the Flash or Photoshop UI). is there was a way to disable the scaling of these custom movieClips in case the user decides to view the piece in fullscreen? I would like the cursors to remain the same size as the system cursor, regardless of how big the asset is.

I want to animate a person moving off into the distance, but while I want the size of the figure to get smaller, I don't want the weight of the lines that comprise the image to scale down, too. I made this little sample of a person skating (poorly) away from the viewer, and I'd like the line weight to be 9 points in the first frame and the last frame. Is there a setting that allows me to exclude stroke weight when scaling and resizing an object?

I have finished my flash game, but when I used web Browser such as Chrome or FireFox to run it, it enlarged my game to full size of the browser. Is there anyway( in AS3 script) that I could prevent this from happening as well as hide the symbols that their sizes are bigger than my default size defined at the document property panel?

Im working on a presentation, created as a projector. It can run both in a window or in fullscreen. In the presentation I have videos playing filling the screens width. They are encoded in f4v format.
My problem is that when I switch to fullscreen the video scales down not up!! It becomes prop around 320x180, not a scales up 1280x720...
Some more info: The fullscreen is not the fullscreen command of FLVPlayer, but of the stage. Also Im am doing this completely in code.
I have set myVideo.fullScreenTakeOver = false; as I need the endframe of the video to match a still image.

I'm loading in a .swf file using loadMovie(), but the .swf being loaded has a fscommand("fullscreen", true); command on it's first frame and it's forcing my main file to launch fullscreen too.
I don't have the original file so I can't remove the fullscreen command.

I have flash ui built over the chromeless youtube player right now and I'm wondering if there is anyway to set certain sprites within the stage to not scale on fullscreen without having to do inverted scaling.
Edit: I use FlashDevelop as my IDE and building this purely in as3

I'm having a problem getting a cdrom interface to not scale in an AS3 Projector. The movie does have an embeded flv player, but it has an interface around that that is 830px wide by about 500 tall and that needs to be shown at its original size, but fullscreen. The movie plays fullscreen, using the following AS3 code:
Code:
stop();
import fl.transitions.Tween;

Sites like The Daily Show (I can't post URLs since I'm a new user, but just go to their front page to see) are doing what I need to do. When you go fullscreen with their video, the bottom video controls and the top social media bar aren't scaled. They adjust themselves in width, but the text and button graphics remain the same size.Now, I've had success with a method where, when the FULLSCREEN event is invoked, I downsize my interface elements by a ratio equal to the difference between my SWF size and the screen size, essentially keeping the interface at a constant size in both modes. However, all text and graphics inside those elements are distorted or blurred when I do this.

So I am working on a full screen website, and background_mc I want to be centered and scaled 100% to the stage. But I also do not want the image to loose it's proportions. Here is my code so far, it is only seeming to center the movieclip:
Code: Select allfscommand ("fullscreen", true);
Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
Stage.align = "TL";

ActionScript Code:
// this tells Flash NOT to allow the assets to be scaled
Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";

I'm writing a web based flash app that's written entirely in AS3. I have objects on the screen as part of a GUI. I would like the user to be able to resize the window, or make it full screen. I would like everything to auto-scale with the resize, but also remain in the same relative position on the stage.

I'm loading an external SWF file, which become a MovieClip, using Loader(). That part is working fine. I then need to scale the MovieClip to match the stage, so that when I set the width and height of the movie doing the loading in SWFobject, the MovieClip will scale too.
For example, the SWF being loaded may be 320x240, but we decide later that we want it to be 640x480 on the page. We can just change the width and height in the javascript call to SWFobject, and it should scale everything. To top it off, I'll need an AS2 version too because we might need to load AS2 SWFs.

I'm currently using the Tween-class to tween my movieclips (just the basics as x-position, etc.). But I'm struggling to tween scaleX and scaleY as the tween does not seem to take care of the centerpoint of the movieclip. I want the movieclip to scale proportional and not just from left to right.

I have been hacking together two different tutorials to create a menu with changing images, and some animating text. Everything looks great, except the menuitems, which i try to resize dynamically depending on the menuitem-movieclip-contained dynamictext. When i resize this movieclip, the whole movieclip scales, and everything looks odd.
this is my first flash project on my own, so be nice :-)
