Jul 20, 2006I have No problems inserting data from flash to PHP into MySQL,it's sendind them back properlly.All I'd like to see happen is for one row of data to be inserted into a dynamic text field. here's what i've got if i access this php file, it prints out a vertical list from
a single MySQL row,I was happy.

and Instead of the vertical list (which i would love to see)i get an unparsed data array.

Apr 23, 2010I'm wondering if anyone has figured out how to pull data from a column in a SharePoint 2007 list to be able to dyamically generate a reaction in a flash object.Our designer created a dashboard of thermometers for our projects that use two variables, % complete and status (green, yellow, red, blue).
As the end user, I want to be able to update my project in my SharePoint list and have it so that my updates automatically populate that flash based dashboard.Right now, he's using an XML document that is stored in a folder on our SharePoint site and then simply updating the XML file when there are changes.It would be ideal to pull this data from the list rather than having to update and then upload the xml document to the SharePoint site.

Jul 6, 2007I'm using the XML Connector to bind information to a List Component. Everything binds okay but when I run the MC I only get one item of information. The object I'm binding from the XML is called "Location" and there are a total of 5 listed in the XML. The five are Los Angeles, Seattle... The only one being displayed is Los Angeles. What do I need to do get the other 4 locations to display in the list?

I would like to go over all the questions (there are more than question1,question2 and question3). some of those contain numbers (salary, bouns) and some don't. I am looking for a way to go over the whole list, querying if the answer is a number or not, and if so - get the number. (and do some calculation with it).

IDE :: Search List Or Data Provider?
Feb 12, 2009I am having trouble searching through a list component and/or dataprovider to see if an item already exists. Basically i am adding items to the list when a item is dragged on to the list. But i want to check to see if an item is already added so not to duplicate items. any ideas would be great.

ActionScript 3.0 :: List Of Classes - Extracting Data From XML
Feb 16, 2009I have created a list of Classes in a school in Excel and saved it as an XML file. In each row it contains the name of the class followed by a list of class members. In col 1 is the word "Class", in the next col is "7C1" ( or equivalent) then each cell after that contains the names of the class members. I can load the XML file no problem, and display the full contents using 'trace', but I don't seem to be able to extract just the class names and student names to use in a Flash application. The code I'm using so far is attached.

Feb 23, 2011I'm working on a flash cards application and am using an ArrayCollection of Objects to store each cards individual data. When the user click the 'save' button, the text from the two textAreas and the 'title' textinput are stored in the AC as one object with .title, .side1 and .side2 properties that contain the text from the flash card. I have made a List in a separate class I want to have display the title of each card the user has created, but after days of researching and looking around, I still cannot get the display to list the titles.

Mar 19, 2011I have a bit of a problem (since I'm not used to binding with AS3), the thing is that I want to do this kind of data binding:

But the ComboBoxes are being created dynamically with AS3, everything is working except I cant bind the second ComboBox dataProvider to be the XMLList in the first ComboBox's selectedItem.

The objects are entities in a game im making, so looping through the entire array to find themselves is not an option.

Oct 28, 2008I'm developing a Flash interface that needs to pass a multi-select list to PHP from AS3. I have a similar interface programmed in HTML and JavaScript, and due to the quirks of PHP I use a series of like-named hidden fields to store the data. The fields are named, for example, "my_ option_text[]". The use of the square brackets in the name somehow identifies to PHP that this is an array and it treats it as such. I've had no problem using this method to send data to my PHP processing page and have been able to save it correctly. Now I'm trying to use the same PHP save page to process the data from Flash. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to configure my URLVariables class properties to appropriately pass an array that will be identified as such by PHP. I've tried simply assigning an array to an appropriately named property of the URLVariables class, but the PHP only recognizes one item, not all items. I've tried using the same naming convention as that I use in HTML/JavaScript, but the square brackets aren't appreciated by AS3.
I can't believe that I'm the first person to encounter this issue. If anyone can point me in the right direction on how to resolve this I'd appreciate it. I did try searching these forums but only found one case discussing PHP arrays, and that was sending data into Flash, not from Flash to PHP.

I have searched SWFupload plugins but they are not working as i need. I am new here and i do some search, i see it is possible to save list of selected files in FileReferenceList array, but i dont know if is it possible to pass this array into javascript and then make upload progress via javascript ?

Apr 9, 2012I build a flash video player which works fine when exported to swf. However when I publish it (F12) does not loading the xml file. As a result video player stuck to frame 2 (where presented a List with video titles and with click on title plays the specific video). The xml link does not ends to .xml. Here is my code about xml loading. I try to change the Flash Player from 10.2 to 9 but I have the same problem.In addition some buttons in frame 2 does not works I suppose because of "Stuck" from xml loading.( Work fine when exported in swf!) Flash Player version: 10.2, Actionscript:3.0, Flash Professional CS 5.5, fps:24, size: 850px(w)x480px(h). Code from FRAME 2.

Flex List-controls - Maintain Remote Data?
Aug 29, 2009I have a TileList which represents some remote data. I also have a form which allows me to change the data. And the data may be changed by someone else too.
What is the best way to maintain data in the list in an up-to-date state? The simplest option I see is the following:
Select an item in the list Edit it in the form Save it. The form submits the data to the server When the server reports success the list re-fetches it's data The very bad thing about this workflow is that the list loses selection (a tree would also loose the nodes' expanded/collapsed state). I would really love to find out another option which would enable the list to maintain it's selection state.

PHP :: How To Store List Of Data (like Array) In MySQL Cell
Mar 2, 2012Basically each row in my table is a different food. I have columns for basic things like description. But, I have a "ingredients" array, and "how much" array, in an array. Basically on my end I can go ingredientsArray[0] howMuch[0] to display the ingredient and how much of it. So, Id like to save both of these arrays in a cell for the row of the food. I heard I could serialize the array, and save it. But I need it to be searchable. (Also, there is no set limit to how many ingredients. So I cant like have a column for each thats why I am going the array route). I'm doing my programming in AS3, and usng AMFPHP to connect to Mysql.

Flash :: Detect When Flex Spark List's Data Has Changed
Oct 6, 2010I need to detect when a Flex Spark List (spark.components.List) data has changed so that I can programmatically change its scrollbar. I know that List is a an EventDispatcher but it's unclear which event I'd register for.
Edit: My List's dataProvider is an ArrayCollection that elements are added too. So the dataProvider is never replaced. I considered listening to the backing ArrayCollection, but it's possible the List will react to the change after my listener, which alters the scrollbar. Thus my listener's changes will be superseded by that of the List.
