ActionScript 3.0 :: Highlight Specific Tick Marks On Slider?
Aug 5, 2011
Does anyone know how to "highlight" (or otherwise style) individual tick marks on the slider control?
I'm going to need to be able to dynamically create a slider where certain tick marks "stand out"; making them taller or darker or a different color would do.
it was possible to control the number of tick marks the Flex DateTimeAxis displays along its axis? Currently, the datetimeaxis controls how many tick marks to display on its axis whenever I change the date range on my chart. Ideally, I would just like there to be only and always 7 tick marks no matter how many datapoints are on the chart. I went into the DateTimeAxis class and noticed that there is a public function called transformCache(), which actually handles rendering the tick marks on the axis but I am not sure what class calls this method.
why the data points on the LineChart don't line up with the corresponding tick mark / horizontal axis label? See adobe's example (at the bottom of the page):[URL]See how the data for 7/28/05 is to the right of the 7/28/05 tick mark / label?
How can I turn every specific character in a word in a textbox to specific color? this works like highlighting. If I have the word Jeeves in TextField object, I would like each occurrence of Jeeves in this TextFIeld to become red or any other color. In AS2 I had to search the text for keywords and use the TextFormat class. and then handle keypresses for the textbox for highlighting as the user is typing. How can a highlight a text in dynamic text field?
My pseudo code is given below: /***Handles Keyback, it should delete the pevious char entered in the text box*/ private function handleDelCharEvent() { aArray[nCurCharInd] = ""; Text_mc["TextEntry_txt"].text = ""; stmpTxt = ""; if (nCurCharInd > 0) { [Code] .....
I am trying to select and highlight a specific row on the datagrid in an embedded swf everytime the movie loads. I am using flash cs3 and actionscript 3 , published on flash player 9. anyone done anything similar? Did quite a bit of searching none of the methods actuall seemed to work.
i try this var myTf:TextFormat = new TextFormat(); myCb.setSize(150, 22); myTf.size = 16; myTf.color = 0xFF0000; myCb.setStyle("textFormat", myTf);it change checkbox font size and object size, but tick box remain the same, what should i do?
I am doing an interactive map which I will like to change to another map scene when the clock in your computer will tick in a particulaty time, like, 1 o 2 o'clock. I also created a clock which is in the map as reference of the real time in your computer. This is the address where I uploaded the draft of these projetc.[URL]
What I have is a map that you can click on points and it will zoom in, you can also click on a "plus/minus" buttons to zoom in and out (I even have the mouse wheel zooming in and out). The client wanted me to add a "zoom slider bar" to it so you know you could move it up and down to scale it. Everything is working except the slider, I can't seem to get it to work with the position of the slider. All of the zoom functionality is there but the slider is killing me.
I am putting up the fla file since there is a lot of code in there and I didn't want to put it all in the forum. if you look in the fla in frame ten on line 726 you can find the function that is supposed to handle the zooming when you move the slider. Up on line 74 you can find the slider onPress and onRelease functions, but those I believe should be fine.
I am trying to create a basic timeline, similar to the timeline we all use in flash (see attached).
I have a playhead slider, which when dragged, just drags within its startDrag() limits.
I also have horizontal window scroller which also when dragged, just drags within its startDrag() limits.
I am trying to work out how to get the horizontal window scroller to scroll when the playhead slider hits the left or right edge. I am using hittest for this collision.
I have the playHeadSlider scrolling along the top. When playHeadSlider collides with hittestThing I want mcContents to then move.
It kind of works.. mcContents moves when the playHeadSlider is in collision with the hittestThing.. but it just moves rather than 'drags' across. I have it set up so that mcContents is twice the width (approx) of mcScrollWindow.
I need to somehow update what I have so that if the playHeadSlider collides with hittestThing on the right, mcContents only moves to the right and if playHeadSlider collides with hittestThing2 on the left, mcContents only moves to the left.
I am pulling a .txt document into a flash swf. The accent marks are in the txt doc but when it pulls into the swf and viewed in the browser they are missing. Txt doc loads fine with no errors but characters with accent marks are just missing.
Is there something I can do to make it so that a flashvar can contain any sort of punctuation and not break the html code? Like some sort of encompassing brackets or something? Right now if I try to include some long strings that have quote marks or other characters that could have some sort of meaning in the code, then it tends to interpret it as code rather than a string. Anything I can do?
I need to create a movie from a photoshop file that pops up upon entering a site I work for. I was wondering the best way to do this. The movie does not need any buttons or interactivity. It just needs to show a simply process of going through necessary steps within the site. I know how to insert check marks shown below, I just don't know how to subtly highlight each box as if it was being scrolled over. Below is the file I need to turn into a flash movie Attachments: pop up trnasition1.jpg (131.6 K)
I working with my new website where I want to show a FLV movie.Next to the movie, I have a text box that will have a new text at certain times.I want some kind of marker in the film to trigger the change.I use Aftereffets to make the movie and know that in the program I can set layer marks in timeline. But how should I do so Dreamweaver or similar software detect such marker.
In my flash application I am using a typewriter effect, to make it seem as if text is written on the fly. When I do so, my punctuation marks (question mark, dot, ect.) get aligned to the wrong direction (to the right). I am writing in Hebrew (right-to-left).
I have an XML driven Flash site and can't get quote marks to work in Flash 6. They show up fine in version 7 and 8 of the flash player. Here's what I'm doing:
My XML file: (added line breaks just for this example)
[Code]...

i am trying to load text from an XML file to a dynamic textfield inside a flash movie.. if the text written on the XML was something like: this is a text message... then it would work.. but if the text written on the XML was something like: this is a "text" message... then it would return an error...

I have a noob question about arrays.I have two arrays:
var array1 = new Array(); array1[0] = "1"; array1[1] = "7";
I know that these are in string format, but this is necessary for the whole code (i think!) but I want to be add these to values together, to get the value of 8, however if you do:
var answer = array1[0] + array1[1];
Then it just joins the 2 values to give 17, however if you times them, it treats it like a number.Is it possible to add them to get the value of 8 in another way without having to remove the speech marks from the array value?
I've been trying to add quotation marks to a variable for the past hour or so, but I haven't been having much luck. Basically, here is what I am hoping to create:
Code: blarg = W71; temp = magic code that I can't figure out trace(temp); // displays "W71"
I stumbled on a previous case of this [URL], but that method didn't work for variables when I tried it. Adding a + symbol before and after blarg gave me an error.simple way to incorporate quotation marks around my variable?
In the past I have used PPro CS4 and Encore to create a DVD of clips which I show to clients. Each clip has a chapter mark so that I can jump quickly to the start of each clip. I now want to make a big Flash file of all the clips, with chapter marks which I can quickly jump to. But when I create the file from PPro, I get all the clips in one nice big file, but with no chapter marks. If I create it from Encore, it cuts the file into lots of little Flash files, the cutting points being the chapter marks. How can I create one big Flash file consisting of all the little clips, but with chapter marks which I can jump to?
I am using Eclipse to work on a large Flex project. Whenever I have an error in an actionscript file, it shows nothing in the "Flex Errors" section of Markers but when I open the file that has the error it shows a question mark next to the line where the error actually is.Is there a way to show these questions marks in the markers section of Eclipse?
