I have a series of XML nodes that are the same (except for the data of course). I want to find the node with that attribute and use that node's data. I know I can do this with a for loop and an if statement but I was hoping that there was a better way.[code]...
I've been trying to figure out how to display the descendants (in this case exchangeRate and PlacesOfInterest) of a parent node with a specific attribute.To set the scene - the user clicks on a button which sets a string variable to a destination eg. japan or australia.The code then runs through a set of nodes in the XML and any that have a matching attribute is traced - simple enoughWhat I can't figure out is how to then display only the child nodes of the node with that attribute.I'm sure there has to be a way of doing it and I'll probably be banging my head against the desk when I find it
public function ParseDestinations(destinationInput:XML):void { var destAttributes:XMLList = destinationInput.adventure.destination.attributes();
<set name="thumbsBooks"> <set name="pdf"> <thumb>Data I want to access</thumb> <thumb>Data I want to access</thumb>
[code]....
I want to be able to get the data contained in the "thumb" tags using the "name" attribute value of the parent tag as a selector, something like you would do in jQuery: $('set[name="pdf"]').find('thumb');Is there a method like this in Action Script 2 (can't use AS3)?
I am not new to regex but have come across a problem I can't seem to solve. I'm trying to locate a specific HTML tag that has a specific attribute/value pair (it may have other attributes, too, but those are optional), extract it's contents as a backreference and wrap a new custom tag around it. The original tag is:
I'm using to gather information from a RSS feed (I'm interested in the src content to display an image)
[Code]...
So far so good now the tricky part is that I want to access the attribute src from img. If i trace(p[0] is XML); i get true, but if I try to trace trace(p.img.@src); or for that matter trace(p[0].img.@src); I get nothing back what am I doing wrong?
Is there a way to access the d:userLabel attribute in Flash Builder? I want to use a number of different files created from Illustrator -> Catalyst -> Flash Builder
Now the question: Can I access the "userLabel" with a scriptfunction? Something similar to getElementByID? I want to change for example the fillcolor of a rect or path with that function. Because I have no id here I can't do something like: R_1.fill = blue And I don't want to manually change the files from Illustrator.
I have a flex 3 project with a root mx:Application. The width and the height are set to pct values, because the application has several sizes that can be chosen by the user, so the correct size is set on the embed's width attribute.
how to access the value in that attribute. I read in several places that this.root.loaderInfo.width should give me that value, but it always returns 500, which I am guessing comes from the default application container width [URL].
I realize I could pass it as a flashvar, but that is not a good solution in this case due to the nature of the project. I've also tried pplication.application.width, stage.width, and stage.stageWidth, to name a few. I can't depend on any of those values, since they change based on the browser zoom level.
I am having trouble parsing some xml that has a few attribute names with : characters in them. The compiler is not throwing any errors and when I trace my complete xml object out it is all there, however when I try to trace out any element or node it keeps comming up undefined. I removed the attribute names with : characters in them and everything works fine. I cant seem to target the attributes either to delete them.
Here is the thing : I have a several frames on which I have several MCs. logical. On some frames, I have MCs that have the same name that on other frames. Right now, I access the frames by a gotoAndStop() and then access the MCs of the frame in the very frame. What I want to do : I want to be able to access the MCs of all the frames from the first one to initiate them (loading purpose). But since I have MCs with the same name, I can't juste do "MCName.whatever()" because as wouldn't know which one to chose. So here's my question : is there a way to use the object-like syntax to prefix the MC Name by it's frame ? ie : frame is "Frame2"

This is specific url blocking. function pageDomainCheckInit(event:Event):void { var url:String=stage.loaderInfo.url; var urlBeginninng:Number=url.indexOf(://)+3; var urlTermination:Number=url.indexOf(/,urlBeginninng); var pageDomain:String=url.substring(urlBeginninng,urlTermination); [Code] .....
I need to make a flash applet that automatically grabs a specific file on a user's system (iTunes XML file) and auto uploads it to my server. So far I have only been able to accomplish this with a user selecting the file, how to upload a specific file without the user having to go and find it.
I have 4 arrays named array1 to array4, is there any way to reference them dynamically? What I mean is if I have for example
var currentValue:int = 3;
and I want to be able to access a specific array depending on that value, is there an easy way to do that in AS3?In as2 you could do something along the lines of
How can i access an object (movieclip) at a specific frame which is located inside another movieclip. It's something like this : first movieclip - and inside it, on frame 10 i have the second movieclip. I want to access that second movieclip ont that 10th frame.
I would like to edit a cell by the row and column indexes so essentially do the following:
advDataGrid[2][3] = "Dogs"
so that I am setting the data grid row 2 and column 3 to Dogs. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this!
Side note: I need this because I am trying to allow the user to copy a section of an excel file to a section of an AdvancedDataGrid like Google Docs does. I am using this idea to do it: [URL]
Flash cross-domain policy files only allow you to specify allow-domain-from tags.I'd like to know if there is a way to limit access as if the tag read allow-domain-to. In other words:[URL]...
Is it possible to achieve this without resorting to creating a special sub domain for flash callbacks?
I have been trying to figure out how you could add in custom attribute tags that flash can recover.
EX: <param name = "movie" value = "somefile.swf"> <embed src = "somefile.swf" width = "550" height = "400">
Except, that I would like to add a Custom tag, like "randNum" so that the tag user could input some number, or rather, a flash movie could generate a tag with a number already put in...Basically, heres a really basic version of the idea.There is a Flash Movie.In the movie, you can input text into a textfield.Upon finishing your message, you click a button "save".
The flash movie then:
1. Comes up with a random number unique to the message.
2. Assigns that number to a variable... "randNum".
3. Saves message as a xml file to the server as "filename" + randNum.
4. Outputs into a textfield a generated HTML tag that a user can post on myspace and such so that it will load in the flash movie.
Except... in the tag, there will be a custom attribute. If the random number variable "randNum" was 00112233, the custom attribute will be 00112233.
So when the movie opens, it retrieves that randNum from the tag and can use it inside flash. How can this be done? Sorry this post was so long, but I wanted everyone to understand the concept.
I'm doing a simple animation for a varsity project. It's a story about a tiger (panjo) who becomes a vegetarian. In an attempt to keep the main timeline clean, and to keep the file size small, I moved all animations that the characters do into their respective timelines, and then I use object.gotoAndPlay(x) function to go to a specific animation in the sub-timeline, like a head moving, mouth talking eyes etc.
It has been working thus far, but now I'm stuck. I am trying to make the tiger's head move to look at something, but I get the above error when I want to go to that specific keyframe. Here is the code:
What I want is a hint how to make a specific thing happen while clicking a specific button. Like "if I click button 1, do this". Would like to use this script though I'm gonna add buttons over time and this is an easy way to have the functionality working.
Here's the code:
Attach Code
function hitButton(btn) { btn.onRollOver = function() { this.colorTo (0xC4006A);
i need to change the colour of a graphic in a specific movie in a specific frame. if i have a movie clip instance-named "sidetext" thats 15 frames long, and i want a graphic in the movie, called "letterp" to change to one of four colours that i want it to randomly at frame 10 and stay that colour uintil frame 15, how can i do this?
how do i export specific frames not all frame. ex: if flash has 1 to 200 frames. here i want to export 51 to 150 frames as a movie. if there is any command or plugin to export movie like this.
