I'm using CS3 and i wrote a in actionscript 3 an .as file that sends a request to a server and gets as a response an xml file. After loading the xml i create dynamically i big number of questions each one of them with some possible choices for the user to select(Radio buttons). The problem is that i have about 40 questions with about 120 radio buttons to show the user but only 5 fit the screen and the others are not visible. Can anyone give me a help using scrollpane or something else so i can give the user a way to see all of the questions and radio buttons available?
How do I make the scroll bar work for a movieclip with dynamic content.
var senderLoad:LoadVars = new LoadVars(); var receiveLoad:LoadVars = new LoadVars(); senderLoad.sendAndLoad("http://www.web.com/my_php.php",receiveLoad,"POST"); receiveLoad.onData = function(src) { var messageA:Array = src.split(",,,");
I'm loading text from an external txt file into a dynamic text field. This dynamic text field is inside a movie clip, which is loaded into the ScrollPane.
The text shows up in the ScrollPane, and when testing locally the scroll bar appears and works, but when I'm testing online the text still appears in the ScrollPane, but there is not scroll bar... it is cut off at the bottom of the ScrollPane with no scrolling ability. Why isn't the scroll bar showing when testing online? The MC being loaded into the scroll pane is called "newsContent" and the scroll pane is called "scrollPane".
Code: //Dynamic News Section _root.contentNews.scrollPane.contentPath = "newsContent"; var mcMain:MovieClip;
I've created a dynamic text field where I've insert into a lot of HTML code. Since it's too much long I've used a default scrollbar and simply dropped it onto the field so that It's linked to that. When I try it the bar is there but I can just see the upper arrow and the bottom one; the middle part isn't visible and I can't scroll down the HTML content.
Mainly been making websites all these years, but in my last year at school i started to get interested in Flash Actionscript. I've been at home for over a year in 2008, unemployed. I got back to school in September 2008 but quit the education as it wasn't for me. Now I'm looking to get a job, but I need a showcase, so I'm building my portfolio at the moment.
I'm currently working on my portfolio which i wanted to make in Flash using XML generated content. I got as far as getting the content generated in my prototype. Now I'm trying to build the real thing. I currently got a scrollbar on the left which contains the thumbnails. I used the custom scrollbar from [URL] ([URL]). The content in it is generated with xml and actionscript though.
I have a fully functioning scrollbar (MOUSE_DOWN and MOUSE_MOVE) and a fully functioning mouse wheel scroll. But I would like some code to move the scroll button according to my contents y position, when using the mouse wheel scroll.
how it is possible to edit dynamic content and modify the content and save it, all within flash.I have tried some experiments in the past and have got the text to change etc which is easy but i need a way to save the content so the next time anybody sees the flash it will have the latest content until i change it again.
I am very new to ActionScript and Flash development so excuse any incorrect terminology that I may use. I'm developing on Ubuntu, using AS3, and compiling with the flex sdk using the ANT tasks (flexTasks-4.0.0.10485).I am looking for a way to scroll content within a sprite. So, say I have a sprite that is 100px in height, and I add several child objects stacked on top of each other that exceed the sprite height, then I would like to display a scrollbar to enable scrolling through the children. Now I found fl.controls.ScrollBar, but when I attempt to import the class I receive the error:Error: Definition fl.controls:ScrollBar could not be found.I'm not sure why I am receiving this error, as this appears to be a valid AS 3 component according to the livedocs. Is there a scrollbar component in AS 3 that can be attached to a display container like a sprite?
I have several scenes in a Flash app; for some of them the Movie height is right while for others the content is very long so i would need to have scrollbars to let the user scroll down.Which is the correct way to handle it in this old version of Flash?
I have a movieclip that loads a scrollpane onto the stage. In that scroll pane I have some dynamic text boxes and some buttons. I cannot figure out how to reference those buttons or text boxes. For example, the instance name of the scroll pane is TAQ_Score then the content loaded into the scroll pane is TAQ_Score_Sheet. Then the instance name of the text box is TAQ_Score_Name.
So I assume the reference should be something like: TAQ_Score.TAQ_Score_Sheet.TAQ_Score_Name.text = MyVariable; This reference works fine outside of the scrollpane, but not when I put it into the scrollpane.
I'm trying to change event for mousewheel after leaving / entering flash content.
on flash - I want to scroll flash carousel on web - I want to scroll web content
My problem is:
Different browsers give different "focus" for flash element and therefore not properly triggered in events: Event.MOUSE_LEAVE, MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER. I have JS triggered for MOUSE_OVER and MOUSE_LEAVE but this seems not to work.
Also mouseWheel is attributed to the browser, not a flash object.
Firefox 4.x/5.0 - fires them properly, without clicking Chrome 12.0.742.112 - it fires after the grant of "focus" or click on the flash object, like IE 9.0.1
I'm wanting to make a vertical scrollbox (say, 150 px wide by 500 px high with a scrollbar) and where the content is defined by an XML file. The catch... I'd like each name in the list to become a button (or otherwise clickable) that opens a swf (also specified in the XML file). I have succeeded in making a static list where each "name button" was created manually... but I'm realizing my list is going to be hundreds of names and I'm thinking there must be a way to achieve this with XML. Here is the current version:
I'm using a ScrollPane to horizontally scroll a movie clip that's much larger than the stage. I've got it working just fine, but I need the scroll bar to appear in the middle of the content. That is to say that I need the scroll bar to appear in the center of the stage with the movieclip behind it extending above and below the scroll bar. Is there a way to do this with ScrollPane or another technique that will accomplish this?
I've tried customizing the component by changeing the position of the ScrollTumb skin by going into its movie clip. This positions the scrolling stuff where I want it, but the movieclip appears on top of it.
I have made a custom class which extends Sprite. This class is a vertical long rectangle with different contents inside. I used a mask in order to show only a part of this vertical "rectangle" (let's call it this way for clarity). Just at its side there's a scroll bar which has to deal with the scroll (up and down) of all this rectangle along its mask.
The problem is that I don't know how to set up the scrollbar in order to get it all working. I've made a function to set it up:
[Code]...
The scroll bar appears where I wanted, it's fully operative, but still it doesn't scroll up/down the container. From this point on, I don't know what to do in order to displace the container upwards/downwards at the same time the slider is displaced. Is there any Actionscript method to do that? If not, what is the formula?
I have a library MovieClip the I am putting into the Scroll Pane. Inside this MovieClip is a Dynamic Text field that I fill with data. I have the ScrollPane on my stage and have used the source, refreshPain and update to try and get the new information from the dynamic text field into the Scroll Pain. To no avail all I get is the orginal text that was in the box when it started.
autoscroll functionality in Flex2's DataGrid while dragging an element row in it. Is there such a functionality or not?
I mean, I have a DataGrid which contains a collection of rows. The collection is longer that the DataGrid could fit, hence there is a vertical scrollbar that allows to get to the rest of rows. I have enabled the functionality of moving-by-draging to be able to change the order of rows in the DataGrid (see the simple code below).
Now, let's say I want to move the first (topmost) row to the last (bottom) position of the collection. When the top row is displayed, the bottom one is not visible (not without moving the scrollbar). So when I drag the top row, I cannot drop it beyond the few currently visible rows. Surely I could drag a bit and then scroll to bottom and then drag a bit more, but that's not the point. The point is - is there a functionality of autoscroll implemented in Flex2 DataGrid, where the collection would scroll itself automatically to allow one to drag beyond the few visible rows?
In Adobe's official PDF document "Flex2 Developer's Guide", section "Using drag-and-drop with list-based controls" I've found this sentence:
Quote:
If the control has active scroll bars, hovering the mouse pointer over the controls top or bottom scrolls the contents.
Well, it suggests that there should be this functionality I ask about. But it doesn't work for me.
Here's the simple code that builds the DataGrid in Flex2, that fails to autoscroll, if you care to check it:
I have a fully functioning scrollbar (MOUSE_DOWN and MOUSE_MOVE) and a fully functioning mouse wheel scroll. But I would like some code to move the scroll button according to my contents y position, when using the mouse wheel scroll. My scroll bar code:
I have a series of images (movie clips) inside a container movie clip.I need to somehow scroll those images within the clip left and right with buttons rather than a scroll bar.
I have a problem similar to this:How to stop flash content shine-through JQuery UI Dialog in FF Windows
but only in safari and only when when I'm scrolling the content inside the dialog. When the dialog appear, everything is fine. But when you start scrolling, with the mouse wheel or by dragging the bar, the flash content start to shine through and come back. For example:
I'm trying to create a layout not too different from the feed reader sample. The problem I'm having is that I'm finding the documentation unclear. There are so many different types of layouts that I don't know which one to use when.In the example, on the right side there are a few horizontal panels:
this does not include the details panel and the resize handle.I would like to swap the DataGrid with my custom content which is basically a sprite. The problem I have is that I cannot just include a sprite, because it does some funky resizing. I would like the scroll bar to appear when the content is too tall, and have have the same skin for the background as the DataGrid.
Just finished up my first drop down menu and needed some help as well as feedback. [URL] QUESTION: What do I need to do to make the dropdown menu scroll down and fall over the html content? In other words; How do i get the other content on the page to sit right underneath the dropdown menu? I can only get the content to sit below the .swf video which is larger than the dropdown bar since it needs room to display the drop down selections.
I would like to scroll content in a Movie Clip (size: 10000 x 8000 px) with Flash Scrollpane component (AS3). However, I want to make the content scroll in both X & Y axis instead of along of the scrollbar axis. How can I achieve this?
I want to create a flash site where I have a long horizontal movie clip split into about five sections, each about 960px wide. The effect I want to achieve is when the user clicks on the button it will scroll horizontally to the specific section of the flash project. For example, if your on the home page and you click on the contact the movieclip will tween to the right until it reached the contact section of the long movieclip. And I also want it where if the user clicks on the home it'll scroll back to the home page. I can't seem to accomplish. I tried positioning with the x property and move right so many pixels. I'm thinking about setting like some coordinates or some kinds of reference points so when the button is clicked it will go to those specific points in the stage.
I have a file uploader that uses a file reference list (FRL) to upload files. However what I want to do is use the FRL to display all the images/files that were selected and then display them in either a list, or photo gallery. I would lean more towards the photo gallery approach but I don't know how to dynamically lay out the thumbnails properly. What's the best way to display the thumbnails in rows 3 pictures wide and then skip down a line etc.
Now ofcourse I don't know how many files will be selected so my next question would be can I draw the thumbnail gallery in a seperate container (or frame sort of like in VB) and then have that container have it's own scroll bars? In most other programming languages I would have no problem doing this but I am a bit new to flash and I am a bit stumped.
There's a scroll bar that controls the dynamic text, but the bar somehow blocks before it reaches the end (bottom). I don't want to make the bar bigger because that way scrolls very very fast. So I want to figure out the issue so I can make the bar as long as I want, according to the quantity of text, to scroll correctly.
I got a problem with the following code: Code: var mouseListener:Object = new Object(); mouseListener.onMouseWheel = function(delta) { XmlItems.content_txt._y += delta; } Mouse.addListener(mouseListener); It works great although it doesn't stop when the text finishes, it just keep scrolling.
