However, the result looks like the following:ScreenshotAs you can tell, it cuts off the first few characters in the text after the image tag (Lorem Ipsum is sim), but it is only because the image is full width. If I change the img tag to width="200", it shows the text floating to the right.However, as you can tell with a full width image (because the Text component's width is 339), it seems the text is still floating to the right, but it's hidden off to the right side of the image.
Flash :: Video In CS4 - Importing An Image To Stage And Set The Width And Height To Match The Image
Nov 8, 2009I have a Flash CS4 Professional version installed in my machine. Here is my problem.
1st - I'm importing an image to stage and set the width and height to match the image. (everything is good, no problem) 2nd - I am using the FLVPlayback components build-in from Flash CS4. It does load the video and everything. (everything seems good) 3rd - Publish the video to my local drive (everything seems good) 4th - I could play the video from my local pc and it loads fine and fast 5th - Upload everthing from my local folder to the Web server, it does display the background image but not the video. It has a white blank screen. What is going on? I copy the exact folder from local to server. What have I missed? How could I make the video to load?

But this seems to just relate to the width/height of the mc that my_loader is nested in...
I have tried the following and had no luck:

Jan 11, 2010I'm constructing a book of sorts in Actionscript 3 (FlexBuilder) and am trying to size an image dynamically according to the dimensions of it's source file. But, I've found that if I don't explicitly state the width and height of an image, they trace as 0.
So that I can scale down an image to fit within a given space, how do I get the width and height of a source image?

Nov 19, 2009I'm loading some images from a web service and use a MovieClipLoader to load the image. In the onLoadInit() I set the new width and height of the image. ( This must be done after the image is completely loaded )
My problem is that the image has poor qualtity. The quality around the edges isn't as the original image. Is there a way to improve the image to just scale as movieclip._width and movieclip._height isn't the best way to go.

Nov 16, 2009In my Flex application, I've got a component that extends UIComponent where I'm loading images at runtime and try to display them. I've tried lots of different approaches (using beginBitmapFill(), using different containers), but I can't get things to work as I want. The problem seems to be related to the width and height properties of the image, which aren't updated correctly.The idea is:

The image's width and height doesn't seem to be correct when it's loaded. I get width==0 (and nothing is displayed), but the property $width seems to be correct. How can I assure that width and height of the loaded image is updated?

Oct 7, 2009I am loading in a list of thumbnails from an XML file. The images are not always square but one of the dimensions is always 50pixels, whether it be height or width. Occasionally an image IS square. I am creating a 52x52 sprite and adding the loader image as a child to this sprite centrally. To do this I need to know the dimensions of the loaded images. (the loader object). Everything loads, parses and displays as it ought to, I just cannot find the width/height of the loaded image. Pics1List is an XML file.

As you can see, I tried a few different things and frankly in the end just tried each combination I could!. The closest I got was when I used imageLoader.contentLoaderInfo.width and the error message was "The loading object is not sufficiently loaded to provide this information." which is why I added the event.complete function. However, this function never triggered so I commented it out.

Jan 11, 2011I currently have two problems with Flex 3 htmlText.
1) When I am setting my text's htmlText:
myText.htmlText = <html text stored in my mysql database>
It calculates the height way wrong. In most cases, a ton of padding (or whitespace) is added above and below the text. I am not sure what happens, but it calculates the textHeight way higher than normally.
2) If I put <span> tags in my html, it automatically strips them out (instead of just ignoring them). I am using the span tags to be able to dynamically find certain pieces of my text. For instance:
<span class="salutation">Dear,</span> <span class="tag">[First Name]</span>
is inserted in my htmlText, and I use them to parse out the salutation and tag of my variable data.
Any alternative ideas on how to parse out pieces of html? Any way to improve htmlText? How to correctly measure textHeight and/or remove padding?

100% Width But Not 100% Height?
Aug 23, 2009I have a flash banner graphic that I created at 1000px wide by 420px tall. I want this to be fluid and fill the browser width, so that when the browser is rescaled the swf fills the horizontal space. My problem is that there is content below it that needs to touch it, but the height is trying to fill 100% so it is creating vertical space between the flash content and the div below it.
I guess a better way to describe it is that I don't want to define the height I just want the width to be 100%. At 100% height there is unused space so I need to make the height maybe undefined or something smaller then 100%?Also, if you make the browser too small vertically the width will not fill. So I want 100% width regardless of the browser height.
