I also have two different simple XML files, each would only be a single column of data, lets say they're called file1.xml & file2.xml I have 2 buttons, and I want to be able to click button 1 and load the data from file1.xml into the datagrid and have its column of data displayed, same for button 2 and file2.xml.

im starting to get the hang of 3.0 now.. but i have a little problem loading different swf files related to witch button i click..
everything works just fine. when clicking on a button the movie plays and its listening for the end of each video playing.. but i cant get it to load different swfs depending on witch button is clicked. is it possible to do this using the same loader as i do now?

View 3 RepliesI'm making my own site, and want to have all text available in four languages,interchanged by clicking on a flag button (English as 'Home' language). The main navigation tool to move between the site's pages is Lee Brimelow's carousel (3) from this site with a couple of minor changes. I was hoping to load the text for the tooltips and dynamic text field associated with each selection from the carousel from different XML files - one for each language.the only issue is that this solution only allows for two XML files to be loaded, and I can't figure how to allow for four different languages (XML files) using the same method. Can anybody please advise me how to change the AS code below, or should I look at a different way to load multiple XML files?[code]

I have an an array of objects. I populate the datagrid from the array. The nmber of columns in the datagrid is fix i.e.5 and the first column always shows serial number (0,1,2,3,4). I have a link button called 'CLEAR' in the last column of the datagrid.
1> How do I make the clear button visible only when the row is particularly clicked 2> When the clear button is clicked, how do I make the contents of that particular row cleared. Not deleted, only cleared to insert data again. Also, the serial number (0,1,2,3,4) should not be cleared, nor deleted. How to do this ?
I have 5 text files that contain a list of 50 items in each file.
I want to bring that information into a datagrid; 1 column per text file. I'd also like to extend the code to add more columns when new files are created.
I was able to bring in one column, but maybe an approach with xml, an xml connector and dataset would be better.

I had the code to load my XML into a Flash Datagrid Component, but I played with it and lost the original working code! Does any one have a way to load:

It is just a rough, local, XML file, but has the same tags as my main one. I want to have columns of User, Xp, and Rank. I found a whole bunch of tutorials that load an Attribute of a node, but nothing about a plain node. Also, it would be awesome if you could also explain how to select a row and go to a certain frame.
All I want to do is load an .xml file in to a datagrid component and it just won't work.

I've got content coming into my application using a query and an ArrayCollection. I know how to display the content into a DataGrid by using the dataProvider propriety, but I'd like to use TextInput components and drop the DataGrid altogether.

I have a question about loading external data. When I had all my actionscript export to frame one, it would slow down the preloader and not show up until it was far into the progress bar animation. So I moved everything to frame 2. The problem with that is now my menus which are populated from an xml file are not there when the site starts to play. How can I get my xml data to load on frame one, but leave the .as fils to load in frame 2?

I am populating 3 columns of my datagrid using a simple XML file. The last column is supposed to be an itemrenderer, basically a Button. However the button should appear only on certain rows of the 3rd column of the datagrid depending on the value from the XML file, which is either "true" or "false". So basically I want to set the Visible property of the button in the itemrenderer to true or false.

However, the button extends all the way both the right and left edge of the DataGridColumn. I've tried messing with the width properties and paddingLeft and paddingRight styles of both the DataGridColumn and the itemRenderer, but nothing seems to work. NOTE: I do not want to use a Container or UIComponent with the Button as a child as the itemRenderer - too much code.
