ActionScript 3.0 :: Loader Condition Detects 0 But Not 1

I'm building a preloader which only loads the background image. This preloader is inside a MyStage class and it's something like this:[code] Remember, I'm calling resultado() on the onProgress function just for test purposes. In theory, it should go on the Completehandler function. Now, when I check if perc is equal to 0, it returns true and loads the image and the rest of content in my index class, but only works with zero.[code]

I'm working on the following site http:[url]...I'm getting there however the preloader I'm using keeps appearing even when the movie in question has been cached. Is there a preloader solution out there that detects when a movie has been previously loaded so that it won't show the loader bar again. I find it annoying seeing the bar appear unneccessarily all the time.The preloader I'm using is basically this:

I'm a slight issue with this for loop:

The code basically see if your touching of the MC in the clickArray and changes another MC's frame accordingly.This bit works fine. However, if I add an else:

If I add an else it only detects the last item in the array, i.e it always goes to frame 7 unless it's touching the last MC in clickArray. why adding an else statement would cause this to happen? I also tried adding an else if not hitTest...

Everything worked perfectly fine in CS5, then I converted it to CS4 and it won't move my guy around, or even trace anything, when I press the WASD keys. The arrow keys still work fine.

I am trying to implement a quadtree of rectangles (instead of points) to be used for collision detection. For some reason, overlap/intersection/collision is not always detected. I suspect this has something to do with the way an inserted collider looks for nearby colliders (see the "COLLISION A" and "COLLISION B" sections of Quadtree.as). Can anyone identify why this happens?
Below is my code for the quadtree, and several other classes that, when compiled together, will show you what I mean when I say that the "quadtree" s "inaccurate". You only really need to look at Quadtree.as, but compiling it together with the other classes.

I have to load a text file. First I want to detect if the file exists or not, so I use "if (rawTxt == undefined)".
Now, if the file exists and contains data, the condition n2 is met...it's OK! But now, if the file exists BUT is empty it doesn't meet the condition n2.. It's not "undefined" neither "not undefined" since any trace action accours.
In other words, how can I check that a text file exists...AND that it's empty or not (so that I can add a branch if that condition is met?) Try by yourself with an empty text file named "Favorites.ini".

when I test my project in flash CS4, both the flash player and the authoring tool detect my keystrokes. Is there a way to make the authoring tool ignore key input while testing a movie, since I really only intend the key presses for the movie?
has anyone else found trace() to be much, much slower in CS4?

Apologies for this post, but I am desperately trying to get an email contact for the swiss watchmaker Jean Roulet le Locle and their site is 100% Flash which does not work for me.
When I try that site with IE8 and FF3, the music and animation start, however, when I try to go to the "next page" it gets stuck at 0% loading. In particular when I try to go to the Contacts page. When the page starts it says "Flash 5.0 plug-in" detected which makes no sense to me.
I've spend an hour uninstalling and reinstalling Flash to no avail. If this site works for someone, could you please post their email contact information.
Originally, I wanted to email this difficulty to Adobe, but they are pretty much a secret organization which is hidden from the prying workd.

I've created a simple Flash based menu (ONE frame, 7 layers) with a Keylistener on the first frame of my "background" layer. I have it setup with six links/buttons. Clicking a button opens that URL. And in "Test" mode from the Flash Editor, pressing 1 thru 6 on the keyboard launches the specified link as well.
But after I publish/upload my file, it no longer detects any keystrokes. I suspected this was because the animation was playing just one frame and stopping, but the animation is set to loop. I also tried adding a second frame and adding a "gotoandplay(1);", but that didn't work either.

I have two swf files, each one almost with the same classes, the most important one is a Singleton class, each swf does "singleton.getInstance()". The diference is that one swf is like a container and the other one is like a module. So when the container loads the module from an absolute path like loader.load("file://c:/modules/module.swf") or loader.load("[URL]"), two different singletons (same class) are created
But when the container loads from a relative path like loader.load("module.swf") , just one singleton is created (that is what I want) I am just intrigued with this behavior, could someone explain me this? The title describes the problem: Loader.load() is firing the INIT event, but in my listener it's reporting loader.content as null. The description for INIT event is "Dispatched by the associated LoaderInfo object when the properties and methods of the loaded SWF file are accessible."I'm loading a lot of JPG images, and 95 percent of the time it works fine; the init listener fires and reports valid loader. content.I absolutely need loader.content available because I need to set the bitmap smoothing property to true.I've tried using Event.COMPLETE and it has the exact same problematic behavior.

I'm feeling a bit low now as I have been suffering this for months. A simple loader loads my simple game and runs VERY FAST on even slow pcs BUT when I build this other loader, it goes quite slowly and I don't know where the app is going wrong. WHERE is the processing consumptoin coming from out of my app.

I have the following code which simply loads an external swf, puts it in the right place and should all be hunky dory.This works:

to set the dimensions of the loader so the external swf doesn't 'spill over', the result is a blank screen. No matter how high I set those dimensions it just doesn't display anything.

I got this very strange behavior from FlashPlayer debugger 10.1 r82. When I call loader.load method, no ADDED event is dispatched to the loader object. But if I open the file and call loader.loadBytes instead, an ADDED event is dispatched to the loader object. I suspect the ADDED event is dispatched because the content is being set as the child of Loader object, but why in the other case it is not dispatched?

the file loads correctly but the loading screen only flashes up at the end.The only thing being exported in frame 1 is the loader image, and that is extremely small.Is it possible that there's a queue of things being loaded and the loader image is at the bottom of that queue? Since that was one of the last things added to the project

i have a main loader swf file called loader.swf and it loads an RSL.swf (runtime shared library for my swf files) and then 10 swf files, each one to a container (fE.: movieclip '01' in loader.swf, then movieclip '02' and so on). the 10 swf files have a lot of references to RSL.swf, and i have to use RSL.the problem is when loader.swf loads the RSL and the other 10 swfs the loader throws errors like this:

I'm loading some images with Loaders, cloning the BitmapData to a new Bitmap, and adding the Bitmap as a child of a Sprite. So far, so good. I want the Loaders I'm using to be removed by garbage collection, which they seem to be. The problem, or so it seems, is that when the Loaders are cleaned up, the Bitmaps I'm creating lose their data.
Edit: All this is happening when a class is instanced, and many copies of this class are being used as actors in a game. As the Actors are being created the older ones are losing their BitmapData to garbage cleanup. When all of them are finally loaded, only the last few are visible. I've rewritten my posted code as a class. If I prevent the Loaders from being cleaned up by somehow keeping a reference to them, the Bitmaps don't lose the data, but I don't want these Loaders hanging around.

I'm working under as2 with variables in a web site navigation, i want to create a condition, a simple condition, for frame controling but i'm not sure how to code it.I have the content_fade_out variable, whenever a user clicks a navigation button, the variable should be checked to see wich movie clip to play. I know i can do it with an if but, if i do it with a "if" I would need add 5 ifs to each button, while i think somethin like this can be done:

and so on, I'm just not sure how to set the variable value condition.

Sorry for the complicated topic. I got a .swf that loads in other .swfs. Rather than figuring out how to make a loader for loading .swfs I thought I'd just use a simple loader in the .swf I'm loading.
However, it doesn't work. It starts fully loaded but doesn't finish. Heres the AS:[AS]_root.stop();

I have 5 movie clips on stage made invisible. Each time only 1 movie clip appear randomly. The next movie clip appear on condition that the previous movie clip must disappear by pressing of a button. Example: mc - A,B,C,D,E
If B appear, a button must be pressed to make B disppear in order for the next button to appear randomly.
