ActionScript 3.0 :: Loading Php Files Error #2101

Jun 25, 2009

I am currently writing some server login scripts which integrate with flash (so you type your details into flash then it sends the data to php). I have done plenty of sending and recieving to and from php before and never had any issues. However just recently I have been getting an annoying error which reads:

ActionScript 3.0 :: Uncatchable Error 2101?

Dec 22, 2008

Error #2101 occured if the data loaded is not in the form of"MyVariable1=MyContent&MyVariable2=MyContent2"so having a variable in this kind of form"&MyVariable=MyContent" will result in #2101 error, because theampersand is put in front (Ampersand is used as a variable divider)and of course,, having NO VARIABLE returned, also result in#2101 error ....to produce this error, just copy paste my code, and run it.. Here is the challenge, how do you catch it?!because, unless i catch it, if something went wrong with myserver, it will show the ugly Error window in user's browser

ActionScript 3.0 :: Error #2101 While Trying To Retrieve Variables From A PHP

Jan 31, 2010

I'm trying to do a usual reading of variables from a PHP file, and I'm getting error 2101: The String passed to URLVariables.decode() must be a URL-encoded query string containing name/value pairs.I have tried to open the remote .php file in my browser, and the output is perfect. The variables are all in the format variable1=value1&variable2=value2, etc. And yes, I know about the thing with the initial '&' character and have removed it, to no avail.

Now, I have COPIED the exact text that the PHP outputs from my browser, and I've PASTED it into a .txt file. Then I uploaded the .txt file to my server. Then I changed the route in the URLRequest object from "...myfile.php" to "...myfile.txt". it works perfectly.So... what could be the difference between the text that the .php file prints vs the text that the .txt file prints, for flash to NOT read it?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Getting Error 2007 When Loading SWF Files

Apr 3, 2011

I am just learning ActionScript3 and am trying to create a fla file that loads 3 external SWF. I have already created and saved the 3 SWFs and they are all saved in the same folder. I have given them the names "A.swf" "B.swf" and "C.swf" so they are easy for me to keep track of. I created the actionscript below and placed it in the first frame of my parent file which is saved in the same folder.

import flash.display.MovieClip;
import flash.display.Loader;
var swfContainer:MovieClip;
var swfLoader:Loader = new Loader();
[Code] .....

When I insert the filename in the URLRequest statement "A.swf" and test the movie it works loading the swf movie and playing it. When I swap either the "B.swf" or "C.swf" file names in the place of the "A.swf" it doesn't work. I end up with no swf file loaded or played on the stage. I also get the following error statement. But I am confused because it is in the Output Tab not the Error Tab which does not report any errors.

TypeError: Error #2007: Parameter child must be non-null.
at flash.display:isplayObjectContainer/addChild()
at SWFadMovieClips_fla::MainTimeline/loaderCompleteHandler()

Although I shouldn't be too surprised as it is written for use with CS.3 and I am using CS.5. Eventually my goal is to create one fla file which loads and plays in succession the three separate swf files in one package.

Actionscript 3 :: Prohibit Users From Loading Swf Files By Flash Loader.load() And Only Allow Loading Images?

Apr 1, 2010

I want to have an AS3 app load images from url supplied by the user. But I don't want a malicious user to be able to load an SWF file in place of the image, such as with an altered extension "maliciousSwf.png". Well, not sure how big a security threat that is above and beyond the ability of the hacker to decompile swf, but I think that ideally such behavior should not be allowed.

So, is there any way to prevent this? When people allow users to load images in their Flash apps, do they somehow guard against loading of SWF? Or is this really absolutely no big deal?

Professional :: Opening .fla Files And Getting Error Codes

Sep 5, 2011

I am brand new to Flash and I am completely unsure on how to diagnose and resolve the problems I am having.I am in an online program through the Art Institute and I am currently taking a course to learn the basics of Flash.I am running Flash from CS4 on my MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.8 and I am having problems opening some of the .fla files that people post. One of two things happens, either:

(1) when I try to open the .fla file I get an pop-up alert (below) and if I click OK the file doesn't open (and clicking OK is my only option, as you see);

(2) I go to open the .fla file and it appears to be opening but then the screen is blank and I get two error reports in the Output pane which says:"VerifyError: Error #1053: Illegal override of isRelatedObjectInaccessible in .RemappedMouseEvent.ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable_ e9a7 52f233536079fc4486d6ac92a1b05a633a5657d5b83ad7fac2246298 b191_flash_ display_ Sprite is not defined."I tried installing all available updates for Flash and that did not solve it. I also tried opening the same .fla files on my husbands MacBook Pro OS X 10.6.8 running CS4 and got the same problems.

Actionscript 3 :: Error 1046 - Files Don't Get Importet?

I received a Flex project and when trying to compile it i get a few 1046 errors that say the Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant MyClass

however - the respective files are listed on the top of the file in an import clause like this:[URL]...and if i check the folder structure, MyClass.as is there. however, if i type this same line (import com.folder1.folder2.folder3.MyClass;) and check at each . what the autocompletion suggests, I see only a subset of the as classes that are actually there on the harddisk. What determines which classes and folders are suggested by the autocompletion function? I don't get any compile error on the corresponding import statements that import MyClass

It would look something like this:

Swf Files Loading At Different Speeds?

Jun 13, 2010

I've got a website w/ a few different pages (each it's own swf file). When buttons are pressed the first time things seem good. But if you return to a button that's already loaded once, the movie clip file that has the navigation (and is the background), loads either too slow or too quick for the other swf files and it gets stuck in random spots. It's hard to explain, but something is not working properly.

Loading Different SWF Files In Sequence

May 25, 2011

I'm doing a presentation where it loads different swf files in sequence. I already have a holder with width = 819, height = 614. Right now, I'm loading 1024x768 swf files in it.

This is the code in use:
loadMovie("movie1.swf", holder);
holder._width = 819;
holder._height = 614;

The swf file is loading in the correct position, but when I test play it, the first one [movie1.swf] loads and plays in it's original size [1024x768], then the following one [movie2.swf] loads and plays the way I want it [819x614]... Then when the whole movie loops again, now, the first one [movie1.swf] plays the way I want it to.

Loading .txt Files From Server?

May 13, 2009

I have an issue with a script I created that loads text strings from a file on my server.The swf file loads a message from a .txt file, displays it in an animation when the animation finishes it loops back to the start and loads the next message and displays it in the animation.

All works fine. However the script reads the text file from the server on every loop ( 3 seconds ) This will be hard on my server so... Is there a way to read the text file once only and then loop through the eight statements?

Actionscript 3 :: Loading And Using SWF Files

Mar 25, 2012

I'm new to AS3, and am trying to understand how externally loaded SWFs work in AS3. Since Flash 4/5, it was common to have one main SWF file in a Flash web project, and then load other SWF files into it, often for various "sections" of a website or web project. In the main file, we'd have masks animating the container movieclip(in which external sections/SWF files were loaded) and have animations and transitions play as the section finished loading and the loaded content was displayed.

In AS3, I've used the Loader class to load and display the external file, my main problem is in communicating with the loaded content, call it's functions, or call root functions from it. In AS2, we could use someMovieClip.loadMovie("ExternalContent.swf") and the ExternalContent file would load inside someMovieClip. You could access functions on the "External.swf" main timeline using someMovieClip.function();. And inside the "ExternalContent.swf", we could use _root.function() to access functions in the main file ExternalContent was being loaded into. Doing this in AS3 seems bizarre and neurotic, and I feel like I'm missing something fairly basic here.

Is there a good work-around for this? Something short of adding a variable for the slash character that changes when a different OS is found? Also, I load XML that has links in it, so changing the links on the fly after they're loaded would be great.
