I would like to navigate to an html anchor from a flash menu. I use
navigateToURL("#anchorName", "_self").
It work fine in IE 7, Firefox 2 and 3 but in safari the page reload. How can I prevent safari from reloading the page?

Flash is being used to create an animated button, and the anchor tag makes it so you can click on that to go to another page. On most browsers, you can click anywhere on the Flash object and the link works...but in Chrome, the link displays in the status bar when you hover over the flash element, but does nothing when you click it. However, there is a small area (about 19px) below the flash element where the link works.
How can I get this to behave the same way in Chrome as it is in other browsers?
I'm trying to use a button in Flash to jump to an anchor at the bottom of my php page. The swf is in a php pagetop include and the anchor is in a php pagebottom include. The code is:

See how the URL is changing depending on how you are going inside the website sections? This is actually great because you can use the <BACK button of the browser in a flash app.
How can this, URL thing, be done? I hope the technique does not involve creating 8 different SWFs for the 8 sections of a site because that will not be actually a trick... It's defenitely something else looking at that "#" thing.
Is it possible to have a link in Flash link to a different (named anchor) section of an HTML document? I suspect not but I imagine it may be doable with Javascript. Anyone know anything about this?

We are building a flash website with cms at the back end, and we are allowing admin to put anchors inside a content. Later we created a smaller version of the whole content to display just a small part and then [read more] button. Which add a new layer on top of every thing acting like a popup and it is populated with complete content.
Now we would like to scroll that text inside popup to that portion which [read more] button was clicked.
The most common example inside HTMl is go to top link in footer on most of the sites which move the whole document to top.
I wanna make menu buttons to be dragged to navigate, I could drag the menu up and down with the as3 as follow.
but whenever click it to drag again, starting point of the menu move where I click on the board. I want to make the menu start to move from the point the mouse out.

Im making an interactive video menu system in flash cs5, Ive split each menu page into labeled sections along the timeline. I have the following code placed in a specific labeled section so it should jump to the "Directory Screen" when the 3 key is pressed:

But when it goes to the Directory Screen, if I press 3 again it shouldnt do anything but flash seems to remember the code and when I press 3 again on the "Directory Screen" it skips to the next labeled item for some reason.

I would like the menu to to re size the div tag when the button is rolled over in flash this way it makes room for the drop down.

However, I would also like the flash menu to show each page buttons link as "Active" when its on that certain page.For example, I'm on the home page. The "home" link in the flash menu is hilited. I click "products", and the products.html loads. I'm not sure how to write the actionscript so that the "products" link in the flash menu is now hilited. The only way I know to do it, would be to create a different menu.swf for each page. But I'm sure there's a way to do it using only one menu.swf.
Also, I'm doing the menu.swf on a timeline in the fla. I'm not sure how to do it otherwise or if what I need can be done on a timeline.
I have a html/css based menu and I'm trying to put a flash video in the banner right under it, but when I hover the dropdown section of the menu it ends up behind it.Is this a z-index problem or do I need to set certain properties on the flash video?

I know there has been several posts on this topic, but i wanted to see what was the best way. I need to create a drop down menu on an html site. I was thinking of doing it in flash however i need the drop down to extend downwards over the html content. I read online that you can make the flash bg transparent using wmode and that would make it look as if it is overlying the html. However this transparent mode isnt supported in Safari. Is there a better way of doing this?
