I have a TabNavigator, and each tab is a Module. One of the modules is labelled Units and the full code of the module is posted in this post. There are several problems:
1) Forms are not populated with data from the datagrid selection.
2) Selecting a row and clicking delete gives the very-common error: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
A trace on the valueObject unit within the selectionChangeHandler function gives NULL. Why? Note: In other modules (other tabs of the TabNavigator), I have DropDownLists populated with units. This means that the valueObject Unit is defined in the other modules. However, valueObjects should be private to modules, and not shared.

I have a datagrid which is editable and I need to send that back to the database via a CFC for insertion into the database after all the editing is complete. Dumping the array collection to cfdump tells me that I have an array with items and a structure but i cannot understand how to "loop" through each and insert into the DB.There seems to be very little written which actually works! My MXML and CFC are below but give me the error of "You have attempted to dereference a scalar variable of type class coldfusion.runtime.Array as a structure with members." -which is nice

I am trying to access a .Net service which requires an authentication header. If WebService is used it works fine. But when it is accessed using HTTPService it throws error. The project is already done by somebody else using HTTPService. Now changing to webService requires some time since there needs to be modification in a lot of files.

I have an html page with a flash object that provides video chat using stratus.I want to enable file sharing from a different UI on the same html page.I want to use the same stratus connection to send the file.Is it possible to create a small flash object that will present a browse button and let the user choose a file and then pass the FileReference or file details to the stratus object to send it?

When parent loads, I have to call a function within the popup without showing the popup (thus, I load "pupLove" but don't include it in layout)....I then pass this data to the parent. When the user manually clicks another button to open the popup, the same function is called & data passed to the parent. However, I am not able to pass dg.length to the parent. I believe the root problem is that I am loading "pupLove" & thus the parents are getting confused.....I'm guessing if I get rid of "pupLove" I can pass the data correctly but will need to call the child's function at creationComplete of the parent....how do I do that?Here's my parent:

I have 2 skins, almost identical, but differ in 1 small way that can be accounted for if I could pass a Boolean to the skin while assigning it to the host component (a button).

I made a drawing in Illustrator and exported it as FXG file to be used in my Flex App which is working fine. But now I want to change some settings inside FXG programatically, namely changing color inside the FXG file. How do I do that?

View 3 RepliesI have a Flex 4 application that loads a module. Everything works fine except that I cant create and object or cast an object to a type of my module. At run time it throws an error. I'm not sure if there is an issue with modules, Flex4, and spark? I've tried many different ways to set/cast these objects, but nothing seems to work.

As a PHP junior encountering Flex for the first time this scratches my brain for days. The flashvar contains the source of the video I want to play in the Flex video component. The HTML of the player looks like:

I tried to call the FlashVars in the FlexPlayer.mxml but it's not working. What I have to apply in the source in the mxml to access the FlashVars.

View 1 RepliesI'm having to pass data (originally read via an XML file loaded by the parent class) to a child class upon instantiation, and I can't decide which is the better method.I could parse the XML in the parent and throw the data into an Object and pass that object to the child class....or just pass the part it needs as an XMLList and let the child class do the parsing.Seems like a trivial decision, yes, but I'm not sure of longer-term implications.

Flex3 + Cairngorm. I have my service in Servicis.mxml:

I want to know how I can use the params Object I pass inside the url definition (the ??? above).
EDIT: I'll explain myself if you didn't understand my problem: I have a restful api written in rails to which I'm connecting. Doc is a child resource of Job. If I want to get all docs I have to supply a job_id too. Therefore in the service the url must be changed for each .send() call, with the proper job_id (the ??? part above). I'd like to call it like myDelegate.index({job_id:34}) and insert that job_id field in the Service URL.
I'm passing the following parameter as an url fragment to flex. (#groupID=2385)
This works great on the development box, but when I put it on the production server.. nothing.
Do you think this is a server configuration issue. I presume that flex is talking to the javascript file 'AC_OETags.js' to make this all happen.
