View 3 Replieswhat video formats can I play with flash player?I heard that mp4 and mov are possible..
View 1 RepliesI need to play WAV, MP3, MP4 and SWF files using Flash Player plug-in in Internet Explorer, FireFox, Chrome and Safari. Please give some suggestions on this.Is there any way to play this formats using JavaScript and HTML??I tried with and tag also but, Chrome, Firefox and Safari is required Quick Time Player to play this formats. I need to use only Flash Player.
View 1 RepliesI just updated to CS5 - I'm working on a custom video player. It works fine embedded in a web page both locally and on the network. It works fine in the debug player. However, when I test it in the authoring player I get a NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound error and no video. I have tried setting the Local Playback Security publish settings to both local and network - doesn't find the video either way.
It used to run fine in CS4 in the authoring environment.
I have two mp4 video files on webserver, i wanted to play them in flash player(flv player) on my asp.net page, but i couldn't be able to play them, i also tried to play them in quick time player the same prob occured. but i waz giving the accurate path, there were no spaces in mp4 file names etc. Does it need to have mp4 player(or codec etc) installed on webserver?
I have also some wmv files on that server , and i am playing perfectly using silver light player, and media player object on my website.
I want to play the music file in flash player (which is embedded obviously) by clicking the play button which is in the web page (not in flash player).
View 2 RepliesI need to play preview video first, before starts play any other video. I am using jw player
View 1 RepliesIs it possible to play flash without flash-player installed? I heard that SWF file and flash player itself may be included into one EXE file.
View 3 RepliesIs flash supporting any lossless audio formats?
View 1 RepliesI'm creating a movie player on a website of mine.. similar to YouTube. I would like people to be able to upload their movies on to my site. So my question(s) are regarding the FLV Format and if you can play other formats some how like Movs, Avis, Wmvs and Mpegs?
(1) Flash can only play FLV files? Can you get it to play Movs, Avis, Mpegs... Can I some how put in codecs for them?
(2) Can people easily get their movies to FLV format? Is this an issue for people?
I don't want to make it complicated for them to put things on my site. I would like them to be able to upload movies with ease and obviously not make things too complicated for them. I want to make it as user friendly as possible.
I have to play a video using some type of premade flv player and then have it redirect to a different page after it has played once.
Is there any way to do this without editing the fla file?
Is it possible to play .mov file on flv player?
View 1 Repliessomewhat of an actionscript nimrod make an flv player disappear after its .flv has finished playing.
View 3 Repliesi just recently tried to use flash to put a video on it. Where the video should show up is there and the controls are there but i cant get the video to show up and play.

The player is meant to retrieve the mp3 file from the server through the path address that is stored in MySQL. It does this in Explorer but not in Firefox. By the way the swf file of the player and the database is stored on the same server so there should be no problem with that.

I'm building a portfolio web site. In the portfolio part, where actual examples of my work are to be displayed, I have it set up via an XML function from a tutorial I found on building a slideshow. On the stage is an empty movieclip called "myHolder". When you click on the portfolio button in the main movie, a submenu appears with several headings(movieclip buttons), such as print, design, direct mail, etc. When you click on, say, print ads, external thumbnail jpgs are loaded into the lower portion of the main stage, while the first external large size example of the group is loaded into the upper part of the main stage. This is all fed into the main movie from an external xml document. Each time you click on one of the thumbnails, that thumbnai's corresponding larger swf is loaded into the upper portion of the main stage in the "myHolder" movieclip. As I mentioned, I've made all of the larger examples into swfs. And each group of thumbnail jpgs and corresponding larger swf examples, are all kept in separate directories.
Everything works fine, except for the videos. I've made a custom player with the proper code calling the NetConnect and NetStream. When I run the main movie locally, the video player loads fine and the videos play as they should. But when I upload everything to the server, the flv doesn't play. The button rollOvers function, but I don't think the actual functions I placed on the buttons(which are movieclips) are working.Oddly enough, when I use the built-in video player component that comes with Flash within the individual swfs that are to be loaded dynamically, the video plays remotely in the main movie, however I then also lose the included controls that come with the component. So obviously that won't work, plus I would rather use my own player.I know this is an addressing problem, but I haven't been able to decipher it for two days. Obviously, I'm not a real Flasher; I'm just trying to do something nice for my little freelance business.
I'm currently building a custom flv player. The main problem is that the FLV doesn't load/play, which most likely causes the secondary problems, such as the bufferClip always visible and no way to test the video and audio scrubbers.
Code:
var nc: NetConnection = new NetConnection();
nc.connect(null);
var ns: NetStream = new NetStream(nc);
ns.setBufferTime(5);
ns.onStatus = function(info){

that hw to play .3gp , .wmv , .mov etc files in flash flv player.
View 2 RepliesI have an issue concearning existing file formats for export in Flash CS4. According to the user's manual in Italian I have found, [URL] available formts include EPS and AI. As far as AI is concerned, I have this option but exported AI files are hard to open in Illustrator, since a number of problems appear. If I separate all groups in Flash and then export to AI format, Illustrator finally opens the AI file, but changing the colours and the shape of my design.
Moreover, no dialogue box for Illustrator version options appear when I choose AI for export, as is described in the support page. As to EPS file format, it is not in the export file dialogue box, the formats I have are JPG, PNG, GIF, EMF, WMF, BMP. My point is that I draw in Flash, then I need to export the designs in Illustrator for print optimization, but the content changes dramatically, if I actually can open the files.
I'm loading external logo into my SWF with following code: var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("logo.swf");var logoloader:Loader = new Loader();logoloader.load(request);addChild(logoloader);logoloader.x = 5;logoloader.y = 5; Everything works fine as long as I have logo.swf in right place. Is there an easy way to improve that code so that it wouldn't matter if there is logo.swf, logo.png or logo.jpg as long as one of those files exists in right place? I just would like to give my clients change to use other formats than SWF if they like, because some of them doesn't have flash or any other software with SWF exporting capability. all of them have Photoshop or some other Image software....
View 3 RepliesI have a 2 different date formats. 1) dd/mm/yyyy 2) dd-mm-yyyy
I want to compare these 2 date formats in Javascript or Actionscript.
Im just about to get started on some serious actionscript. Ive been unable to locate any tutorials or examples of login user script. Has anybody seen any about?
View 3 RepliesI got two questions in my mind. The first one is which is a better format for importing a movie? Should I use QUICKTIME or other formats?
Now the second one is a little bit confusing. Let's say I have successfully imported any movie to my FLA file, I was wondering if their is a way to PRELOAD half of the entire movie before actually playing it, that way, audience won't wait for a very long time if needed.
I've been pondering the various ways in which video's can be used in flash, and how to use these methods to produce on different formats.The company I work for, creates multimedia presentations on CD. These are designed primarily in flash, the presentation houses a video that plays from start to finish, coinciding with slides that appear 'on cue' with the various slides. the presentation controls also offer the user the ability to skip through the presentation.Now we upload these presentations to our testing site so the speaker in question can see and check the presentation, giving feedback on changes to slide order or skip positions and so on... After the go-ahead the presentation is then burned to CD and mass produced from here url...
1. When uploading these presentations to the net, when the user starts playing the video, but wants to skip onto a later question, say 'question 10'... there is a delay in which the video stops and then plays several seconds later (often MANY seconds later) I did some looking into this, am I right in thinking that using 'FlashServer technology' will solve this problem? I am presuming the timeline cannot skip directly to this part of the video and begin buffering from here on a standard FLV?
2. When burned to a CD, there is still a 'pause' when skipping to different parts of the video (using FLV), although the delay is not as long as that of the online version, it still presents itself as a problem in my own eyes, when skipping from 'question 1' to 'question 9' were still waiting several seconds for the buffer to catch up... Is there a work around for this to make the skips more instantaneous? like like a dvd/cd skip? Perhaps and embedded video setup?
Is it possible to ease video playback, so thats not directly stopped but slowly stops playing.
or image sequence thats also an option
Its possible to assign 2 or more Formats to a text in a TextField?I have an var txtChat:TextField; and I want to assign a TextFormat to the user, and another TextFormat to the text of the chat, in the same TextField.
View 2 RepliesI was wondering: how to make a dynamic text box a little more customizable.what i mean: how do i start new paragraphs.. i've set it to multiline, but it just goes onto next line at end of current one which is fine
if i press enter, and go to new line in the actionscript, it creates an error, as the on function isn't finished...also, how to set the box to justify ALL test inside it.. even though i've selected the justify tab on the properties of the box, it doesn't do it properly ....
I am oriented around html/css webdesign, and graphic design in photoshop, but know nothing of Flash, and i am attempting to learn!I have found a lot of complex tutorials but none that fit my specification. All i need to know is how to make an interface incorporating a play button which plays a .flv file. I already have a .flv file ready and the graphic i want to use for the button, but no idea how to begin.The .flv i want to play is a short 3-4 minute clip of someone talking including audio - i dont know the best way to play it and have heard of different options including embedding or somehow linking to an external flv file.I have tried various tutorials to try to achieve a simple interface with play button - i dont need a skin, rewind, forward, etc, just a play button and for it to go away while the video is playing, and perhaps a pause/stop button in the corner of the swf, over the top of the flv file itself. But I have had no success, mainly due to errors within the actionscript.
View 17 RepliesI created one invitation in flash 8 with flip book and wanted to upload it online and share the link with everyone. wanted to do in an atmosphere where flash player is self embedded and the user doesnt need to have the flash player.
View 2 RepliesI checked all flaskit sources and tutorials. All of them are telling about mp3 players with stop, play and pause buttons.
Is there any source or tutorial about a radio which continiously play songs ? No pause, no play, no stop button. it will play songs in specific folder nonstop in loop. ?
