Php :: Mp3 Player Does Not Play File In Firefox?
Feb 22, 2012
The player is meant to retrieve the mp3 file from the server through the path address that is stored in MySQL. It does this in Explorer but not in Firefox. By the way the swf file of the player and the database is stored on the same server so there should be no problem with that.

I have a file upload script to upload pictures to a server. It has been working fine in all browsers but when I upgraded the flash player to 10.1 in firefox 3.6.6 yesterday it stop working.I retested with another computer and as soon as i installed the flash player 10.1 it stopped working.I did some debbuging and noticed that the error return from the FileReference listener is I/O error.It doesnt make sense because the file is in the server and it works fine in all other browsers.I changed allowScriptAccess from "samedoamin" to "always" without luck. it works perfect in other flash player versions.the HTML that embeds the movie:

I have made a presentation with voice over, in which the images and audio files are loaded externelly from the folder where the swf was placed. the voice over files are in MP3 format, loaded with the script follows
mysound = new Sound();
mysound.loadSound("voice1.mp3");
mysound.start(0,0);
It works well in IE but not in Firefox.

I just updated to CS5 - I'm working on a custom video player. It works fine embedded in a web page both locally and on the network. It works fine in the debug player. However, when I test it in the authoring player I get a NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound error and no video. I have tried setting the Local Playback Security publish settings to both local and network - doesn't find the video either way.
It used to run fine in CS4 in the authoring environment.

I'm working on a project that I want to export as a .avi file. I'm using Flash 8. I can go through the steps of exporting the movie fine, but once I try to play it in Windows Media Player, I get this error:
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."
I've tried playing it in VLC and DIVX player as well I got similar error messages. This is a time sensative project,

I'm Looking for a generic player that can play .avi, .flv, .mpg, .mp4 and .wmv video files and .mp3, .m4a, .wma and .wav audio file types in browser.
So far any player that I found only plays one or 2 types from above list.
Also for some reason video tag only shows empty screen with loading cursor on it, no matter what file type it is.
I only need to show these files in Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer (both latest version).

I have a mp3 that is retrieved from the server via "somepage.php?id=100". When I load this into spark VideoPlayer it doesn't work. But when I copy that URL and put it into the browser URL I get a dialog that asks if I want to download "sound.mp3".
UPDATE!!!
// in the creation complete handler
var audioElement:AudioElement = new AudioElement();
audioElement.resource = new URLResource(path);
[Code]....
It seems the audio is cued up in order when added to the creation complete meaning that if one audio file is loading another will not start until after the first has completed.

I'm trying to force the Flash player to play video files without showing screens. I did try to set vidDisplay.visible to false. But it seemed not working at all.I was doing was try to build a generic media player. Whatever the source is(audio or video), the control panel always the same, namely, a mp3 player panel is always displayed:However, when I stream in a video file, it would end up overriding mp3 panel with a partial video screen. I don't have enough reputation to upload images...

I am trying to implement a Flash YouTube video player on this page. [code]...
The only problem is that the player does not show up. Scroll down the page and right below Secondary Headline there is a large white space - this is where the player is.
I have tried it in isolation here and it works fine, but something is messing it up on the destination page.

Without too many details, I have a flash project that has a MOUSE_OVER function that works perfectly when I test the movie within flash and even when I play the swf in flash player. However, when open it in firefox, my mouse over doesn't work properly. Instead of it execution the function on mouse over it executes on mouse down.
Are there any known differences between a web browser and flash player that may cause this to happen.

For some reason the performance of the application is slower in Internet Explorer 8. I've tried several tweaks but the performance difference still remains. The 'core' of the application, placing brushes on the canvas, is driven by a Timer event:
Code:
_myTimer = new Timer(1, totalSections);
_myTimer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, goPaint, false, 0, true);
_myTimer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER_COMPLETE, distributeLevels, false, 0, true);
_myTimer.start();
I allready tried the ENTER_FRAME option, this just slows both versions down (IE and FireFox).I mean Timer and slow performance in Internet Explorer? Or have other ideas to improve performance?

Offline (on my drive) it works, but online (on my website) it loads the entire flv before displaying anything (..I get the animated barber shop sign scrub bar thing).Is there any additional coding or setup I need to do for it to allow me to play it even while it is downloading, as it's supposed to? I just spent a week trying to get my Quicktime .mov's to Fast Start, and it just isn't happening, despite everything I try.I had it work ONCE now using QT Pro, but now they aren't working again.
I gave up on QT, and am trying the FLV route using the FLV Player component... which looked promising, but is now giving me the same issue.Clip thumbnails (embedded movies) on my HTML page that don't download until you click play... and when you click play, it starts playing as soon as it has a good enough head start in the load.I've tried Fast Start QT's....as well as external FLVs loaded via a swf with a FLV Player component inside..

I have a Flash Media Streaming Server 4.0 running for more than a year now. I protect the access to my server through the "allowedHTMLdomains.txt and allowedSWFdomains.txt feature" (amongst other things...). We noticed that with Firefox 10.0.2 (last version) and Flash Player 11.1.102.62 (last version) our customers can't connect anymore. In the admin console we can read things like: Authentication failed for pageurl: [URL]

I'm using ActionScript to listen for key presses and route to a method to handle them. It works fine in Flash Player Debugger 10.1, but does not work with the SWF in a browser. I've tried it with all sorts of keys: letters, numbers, etc. But I can't get it to work at all in the browser. I'm using Safari 5.1 and Firefox 3.6.8 on the Mac. Here's my relevant code:

There frequently tend to be posts "My SWF works in FireFox but not Internet Explorer! I'm wondering, is there REALLY ever any truth to these and not just silly mistakes?
Is there any real difference between the Flash Player in Internet Explorer and FireFox?
Aren't they the same, and all the browser is doing is relaying those commands to the library/executable already on the computer? The reason I'm guessing this is because when you install Flash Player, it works for all installed browsers, and you don't have to install it to specific browsers, right? Or?

I have a flash gallery I created using Flash CS4 and Actionscript 3. It plays perfectly in FireFox, but in IE and Safari it just shows me a blank space on the page where the gallery should be. As a test I uninstalled Flash Player, and FireFox and Safari showed me the message that a newer version of Flash was needed along with a link to get it, but IE showed nothing. Now that Flash is re-installed, only FireFox actually loads/plays the gallery. With IE it doesn' tmatter if I use the 32-bit or 64-bit, or if compatibility mode is on or off. I tried republishing with Flash 9 set instead of Flash 10, but that made no difference. It fails with the HTML file generated out of Flash, as well as the page I created in Dreamweaver and used the Insert Media command to insert the .swf:

The project i'm working on contains many flv's which are dynamically loaded into our custom media player, and then again loaded into our flex application. We are having an issue with these flv's. Well i should say some of them. Our problem is based on browsers. In IE everything runs fine. In firefox, some work, some dont. We run different courses though our application. In 1 loaded course, the flv's play perfectly fine. No loading issues or delaying or freezing. But on this one course all of the flv's contained within it will not load. Like i said before, when we test this on IE they work. Only firefox is causing the issue. I have researched this issue and have came up empty handed.
