Professional :: CS5 .swf File Won't Play In Firefox?
Feb 8, 2011
On the homepage [URL] I had a previously installed .swf that works fine on IE, Firefox etc...I added a new .swf "testimonials" on the page on right hand side but it will only work in IE?
The player is meant to retrieve the mp3 file from the server through the path address that is stored in MySQL. It does this in Explorer but not in Firefox. By the way the swf file of the player and the database is stored on the same server so there should be no problem with that.
I have a flash gallery I created using Flash CS4 and Actionscript 3. It plays perfectly in FireFox, but in IE and Safari it just shows me a blank space on the page where the gallery should be. As a test I uninstalled Flash Player, and FireFox and Safari showed me the message that a newer version of Flash was needed along with a link to get it, but IE showed nothing. Now that Flash is re-installed, only FireFox actually loads/plays the gallery. With IE it doesn' tmatter if I use the 32-bit or 64-bit, or if compatibility mode is on or off. I tried republishing with Flash 9 set instead of Flash 10, but that made no difference. It fails with the HTML file generated out of Flash, as well as the page I created in Dreamweaver and used the Insert Media command to insert the .swf:
The project i'm working on contains many flv's which are dynamically loaded into our custom media player, and then again loaded into our flex application. We are having an issue with these flv's. Well i should say some of them. Our problem is based on browsers. In IE everything runs fine. In firefox, some work, some dont. We run different courses though our application. In 1 loaded course, the flv's play perfectly fine. No loading issues or delaying or freezing. But on this one course all of the flv's contained within it will not load. Like i said before, when we test this on IE they work. Only firefox is causing the issue. I have researched this issue and have came up empty handed.
So I haven't done much in flash in a while. However, I imported a new movie and then published the movie from flash and made an html page as well. For some reason I can not see the movie when I go to the page.
I have made a presentation with voice over, in which the images and audio files are loaded externelly from the folder where the swf was placed. the voice over files are in MP3 format, loaded with the script follows
mysound = new Sound(); mysound.loadSound("voice1.mp3"); mysound.start(0,0);

Firefox throws the flash file out of it's container? The page behaves correctly in IE8 (32bit). I posted in DW forums who suggested it was a flash issue and not DW. [URL]
I have a strange dilemn and the 3D feature in Flash CS4 seem to be the most obvious connection to the problem. I have a page with 2 different swf files ( both under 50KB), which use the satay method. One works perfectly, and the other struggles to work. The pixels are magnified, the 3D animation scales incorrectly, and moves very slowly. Eventually the browser crashes and the whole operation goes down.
I made a swf file and embed it in my website. It displays properly in the mozilla firefox but not in my google chrome. Is this problem related to the browser or the way that I embeded my swf file.
I have a slash template that I will be inserting video into, the template is set up for a .flv file ? what would I change in Dreamweaver or Coda to edit this file so that it can play video with a .swf file instead of a .flv file? here is the template
im having problems with my swf file, its not playing on the web,my video is a flv i save it a swf when i export it and it wont play. it plays pefect on my desktop though.
I have a problem where i cant get swf files to play online. I can get other swf file to work on my website but not the ones i am making. how i make an swf file able to play online.
I have placed a FLV file in to my flash document, when I test it it plays fine, but when it upload it online the skin doesnt show up and I cant control the video.
I have a 3,5 MB .swf file on my webpage it works perfectly well in firefox. But in internet explorer it doesnt seem to play. My guess is that IE uploads the whole .swf file before playing it. Can anyone here tell me how to let it work in IE as well?
I am trying to embedded a SWF file into dreamweaver. It plays fine in dreamweaver and when you preview it in Firefox or Safari, But when I upload my HTML files and SWF files it does not play and displays the following message "content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player". Heres my code and the URL of the website which I am trying to embedded the SWF file [URL].
I have found a way to send a play(); command to my Flash movie in IE9 but I can't figure it out in Firefox9. Here is the code I am using that works in IE:
Using Flash CS4 and having the Flash plug-in ver 10 on my PC, the generated html file will not play the swf in the browser.I noticed that the active-x javascript is now included in the header as well as the javascript portion in the body tag.But it won't play. I get the typical blank window in IE with the "X" in the upper left corner.I don't have this problem with Flash CS3.
i have succesfully managed to encode / create an .FLV file which now plays back in my .swf file. The picture and sound are great when streaming off the web!
how do i command the file to play back in a continous loop? at present it plays and then rewinds back to the begining.
i have investigated some of the .FLV parameters but can't seem to find the control / command i'm looking for.
I have a flash file that is looping endlessly. I only need it to play once and stop. I have tried eveything to fix it but simply cant ge tit to work, The file can be seen here:[URL] My html code via golive is set yo play once, i am pretty sure the issue is a setting in FLash
I'm just wondering why my swf files won't play when I upload them along with my HTML file to the server.
The problem can be seen at the following [url]... Can't get my embedded swf files to play in HTML file
I inserted the swf in 'insert media' - 'shockwave' and the thing works when I press play to view it within dreamweaver. However, when I try to view it on a browser, either locally or remotely, it doesn't work.
I am trying to import a video in to flash. I have converted it to a flv and used the stream from flash media server option and selected a standard play and stop bar. I have imported it in and it works find when you just select the individual swf that it loads into. The problem im having is that when I go to it through the home page, all the page loads apart from the video. I've tried moving it around, moving where all the assets to the video are etc. I know the file structure is important to this working. I have a main folder called interactive / and in that have a FLA and a SWF folder and the swf and fla home page. Currently I have the the video swf in the swf folder with the flv and the play and stop swf.
I have a flash file with about 20 different scenes in it. And in one of the scenes there is an audio file that is 15 seconds long. The sound is on a menu page so i only want it in that scene. But if you are on that page for less than 15 seconds and go to another page then it carries on the sound into the next scene and if you go to and from the menu page to another scenes in quick succession you get a build up of sound which is horrible.
I'm working on a project that I want to export as a .avi file. I'm using Flash 8. I can go through the steps of exporting the movie fine, but once I try to play it in Windows Media Player, I get this error:
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."
I've tried playing it in VLC and DIVX player as well I got similar error messages. This is a time sensative project,
I know it is not right out of the box, but is there a hack anywhere that uses javascript, php, or even flash to play the MP4s if the html5 video tag isn't supported?
I created a flash video with interactive menus using Encore. The .swf file played fine from my laptop computer.I copied the .swf file and its associated files to a micro SD card and tried to play it from a Samsung Galaxy Tab (7 inch tablet, Wifi only version) but it would not play.I searched the web and it appears that the Galaxy Tab will play flash videos off the web, but will not play them off-line (that is, stored on the device locally). I want to preserve the interactive menus. My goal is to be able to play videos with menus, off a small 7" tablet with a bright and contrasty display Overall, I liked to Samsung Galaxy Tab, but I returned it when I could not figure out how to play .swf videos stored on its local memory.
I created a flash file that contains a flv file inside. After I published it on my Mac in both html and swf format and it played well. But when I copied all this folder include the swf, html and the source flv to test on a pc it played well but the video part (flv) was blank. So I copied the .fla file to pc and published again, then it works fine (including the flv video part) on both pc and Mac. All the settings were same while publishing. So I wonder what's wrong with publish from Mac side? I work with Mac and so it's very inconvenient to publish my work on PC.
Through my website (easier, as i can detect the browser)
sending an email which will have a player to stream the audio
restrictions.
1. Firefox wont play MP3
2. Iphone/ipad wont play flash
3. Iphone/ipad wont play ogg
4. Emails have trouble with javascript -jplayer (potential of ending in the trash)
problem. if i send via an email, i cant detect the browser, so cant choose ogg, flash, etc.
Solutions - 1. Use HTML 5 and embed a player stream mp3... works in iphone, ie8, chrome....not in firefox (mp3 issue) and older ie browsers (html5 issue).
use jplayer.... i expect the email to dislike the javascript and throw into the trash, plus will firefox play the mp3 audio? use flash.... i expect iphone/ipad not to work, also will it play from an email?
In Nexus one smart phone(android 2.2), the flash file in the web site is played by browser, But local flash file is not played. How to play the local flash file? Does not support local swf playing yet?
