Jul 27, 2009Without too many details, I have a flash project that has a MOUSE_OVER function that works perfectly when I test the movie within flash and even when I play the swf in flash player. However, when open it in firefox, my mouse over doesn't work properly. Instead of it execution the function on mouse over it executes on mouse down.
Are there any known differences between a web browser and flash player that may cause this to happen.

Aug 14, 2009For some reason the performance of the application is slower in Internet Explorer 8. I've tried several tweaks but the performance difference still remains. The 'core' of the application, placing brushes on the canvas, is driven by a Timer event:

I protect the access to my server through the "allowedHTMLdomains.txt and allowedSWFdomains.txt feature" (amongst other things...). We noticed that with Firefox 10.0.2 (last version) and Flash Player 11.1.102.62 (last version) our customers can't connect anymore. Firefox - Flash Player Debugger Plugin Crashes On Mac OS
Jun 9, 2010I recently started using Mac OS X for a flex/actionscript project and having a problem with flash player debugger plugin for the browsers:
OSX: 10.6.3 Browsers I tried: firefox, safari and chrome Flashplayer debug "Flash Player 10 Plugin content debugger (Intel-based Macs)
Whenever I open a page containing a flash content, my browser crashes due to flash player plugin's crash.
I checked the version of my flash player debug plugin with [URL]
and as the version checker is written in flash, my browser crashes a few seconds later.
I am using version 10,0,42,2 (debug edition: yes)
This is what I see in the crash log:

Mar 21, 2010There frequently tend to be posts "My SWF works in FireFox but not Internet Explorer! I'm wondering, is there REALLY ever any truth to these and not just silly mistakes?
Is there any real difference between the Flash Player in Internet Explorer and FireFox?
Aren't they the same, and all the browser is doing is relaying those commands to the library/executable already on the computer? The reason I'm guessing this is because when you install Flash Player, it works for all installed browsers, and you don't have to install it to specific browsers, right? Or?

Flash 10 :: FileReference Upload Not Working On Firefox 3.6.6 Flash Player 10.1
Jul 14, 2010I have an app that uploads pictures to the server. When I upgraded Firefox 3.6.6 FP to flash player 10.1 the uploaded stopped working. It still works perfect in other browsers. It works fine in Firefox 3.6.6 but different Flash player version. I did some debugging and noticed that it works fine when I run it in my development environment (Localhost). In the production server it returns I/o Exception but it doesnt make sense because it works for other players and also the file is there. I changed the permissions on the file to 777, the allowScriptAccess to always, tried to make the php path absolute also and no luck. The php file does not use sessions or cookies.

Feb 22, 2012The player is meant to retrieve the mp3 file from the server through the path address that is stored in MySQL. It does this in Explorer but not in Firefox. By the way the swf file of the player and the database is stored on the same server so there should be no problem with that.

Flash :: Css - Get Player To Display Under Content On A PC?
Mar 5, 2010Long story short, I'm developing a theme template for a blog that enables you to view the posts in blocks. The main part of the post is displayed at first, then the secondary content is displayed over that when you hover over the post block. Everything works fine on a Mac Versions of all major browsers, but start browsing on a PC, and all hell breaks loose when you start trying to display content over Flash Video embeds. The flash element remains visible over the content. It's completely unusable.
From a PC, you can view an example of the problem here: [URL] I'm almost certain this is a bug in the Flash Plugin for Windows, but I was wondering if anyone else had come across this problem before, and if there were any solutions.

Jul 21, 2009works perfect on my macbook pro (safari, firefox, and opera) but when I view the site on Vmare Fusion Windows XP and use IE and FireFox the pages don't load... I don't know what to make of this. Has anyone hear or seen anything like this happen before? BTW the website was created in Adobe Flash CS4/ AS 3.0 and published using Flash Player 10.

Feb 17, 2006Discovered yesterday that the preloader I've been working with (loads external SWFs into levels based on this tutorial) which works fine on a local preview and IE, is having some major issues in Firefox. I thought this was a little bizarre at first but have since discovered that it could be something to do with 4 bytes that IE ignores but Firefox has a problem with. I've been searching for a solution that I can use pretty much constantly since then, and I'm stumped. Here's a link if you want to see it in (in)action: link
In IE, everything is good. Page loads, preloader starts at the bottom of the progress bar and progress is acurate. In Firefox, page loads, external swfs DO preload but progress bar doesn't display. When swfs are 100% loaded, the full progress bar appears with my "click to enter" link. But people will definitely have left the page thinking nothing is happening by then.

Professional :: FLV Player Component Seemingly Not Working In Firefox?
Jun 20, 2010Offline (on my drive) it works, but online (on my website) it loads the entire flv before displaying anything (..I get the animated barber shop sign scrub bar thing).Is there any additional coding or setup I need to do for it to allow me to play it even while it is downloading, as it's supposed to? I just spent a week trying to get my Quicktime .mov's to Fast Start, and it just isn't happening, despite everything I try.I had it work ONCE now using QT Pro, but now they aren't working again.
I gave up on QT, and am trying the FLV route using the FLV Player component... which looked promising, but is now giving me the same issue.Clip thumbnails (embedded movies) on my HTML page that don't download until you click play... and when you click play, it starts playing as soon as it has a good enough head start in the load.I've tried Fast Start QT's....as well as external FLVs loaded via a swf with a FLV Player component inside..

Feb 22, 2012I can't seem to embed using swfobject...I normally embed with object class ID but have decided to get to grips with deep linking.I've brought it back to basics without using swfaddress and thinking it would maybe sort out server side, still no luck, either server side or locally.Also tried uninstalling and re-installing my flash player, still no swf displayed.swfobject.js is in the same dir as test.swf

Actionscript 3 :: Stage3D In Flash Player 11 Doesn't Display?
Oct 4, 2011I'm trying to write a 3D game in ActionScript 3.0 using the Stage3D API. I've copied the playerglobal.swc in my frameworks/libs/player/11.0 directory, and modified the frameworks/flex-config.xml file by changing the target-player to 11.0.0 and the swf-version to 13.When I compile my ActionScript 3.0 files using mxmlc I set the options -target-player=11.0.0 and -static-link-runtime-shared-libraries=true. Now, I don't get an error at compile time when importing com.adobe.utils.AGALMiniAssembler or flash.display.Stage3D so I assume that there's no problem with that.
I run the compiled SWF file in Opera, and I'm using the latest Flash Player (version 11.0.1.152) which was publicly released today (cheers ;D). There's seems to be no problem with the player because I can play Zombie Tycoon. However, when I play my SWF file the Stage3D doesn't display; but all the other display objects attached to the stage do display.I believe that there's either some problem with my configuration or my code, but I can't pinpoint it. The code I'm using was simply copied from Labs @ Jam3. I believe that there was some problem with the viewport, so I simply replacedI have been searching for a solution all over the web, but I can't seem to locate it.
