I am writing an ActionScript web app that allows the user to upload their own PDF file and draw objects (boxes, circles, etc) on top of the PDF file. I was wondering if there are plugins out there that allow me to place the PDF into the stage. An alternative would be to convert the PDF to an image file server side

Long story short, I'm developing a theme template for a blog that enables you to view the posts in blocks. The main part of the post is displayed at first, then the secondary content is displayed over that when you hover over the post block. Everything works fine on a Mac Versions of all major browsers, but start browsing on a PC, and all hell breaks loose when you start trying to display content over Flash Video embeds. The flash element remains visible over the content. It's completely unusable.
From a PC, you can view an example of the problem here: [URL] I'm almost certain this is a bug in the Flash Plugin for Windows, but I was wondering if anyone else had come across this problem before, and if there were any solutions.
I want to make a thing to detect and display what flash player someone is is using.

View 5 RepliesI can't seem to embed using swfobject...I normally embed with object class ID but have decided to get to grips with deep linking.I've brought it back to basics without using swfaddress and thinking it would maybe sort out server side, still no luck, either server side or locally.Also tried uninstalling and re-installing my flash player, still no swf displayed.swfobject.js is in the same dir as test.swf

I'm trying to write a 3D game in ActionScript 3.0 using the Stage3D API. I've copied the playerglobal.swc in my frameworks/libs/player/11.0 directory, and modified the frameworks/flex-config.xml file by changing the target-player to 11.0.0 and the swf-version to 13.When I compile my ActionScript 3.0 files using mxmlc I set the options -target-player=11.0.0 and -static-link-runtime-shared-libraries=true. Now, I don't get an error at compile time when importing com.adobe.utils.AGALMiniAssembler or flash.display.Stage3D so I assume that there's no problem with that.
I run the compiled SWF file in Opera, and I'm using the latest Flash Player (version 11.0.1.152) which was publicly released today (cheers ;D). There's seems to be no problem with the player because I can play Zombie Tycoon. However, when I play my SWF file the Stage3D doesn't display; but all the other display objects attached to the stage do display.I believe that there's either some problem with my configuration or my code, but I can't pinpoint it. The code I'm using was simply copied from Labs @ Jam3. I believe that there was some problem with the viewport, so I simply replacedI have been searching for a solution all over the web, but I can't seem to locate it.
Anybody can tell me how to display pdf file inside of the flash player with acrobat?I got this same option in AS2.0. But now i required in AS3.0. Using flash paper i've tried this option in AS2.0. But flash paper is not upgraded after AS3.0 release so its not supporting in AS3.0.

I'm trying to extend it a bit by setting up the mp3 player to display the songs names an their duration (5:45) I'm pretty confident this is possible and I've tried a number of things and read a number of threads and tutorials but I'm still stumped.

When I create an instance of a MovieClip from my library:

My loader component works when I publish to Flash Player 7 but not when I publish to Flash Player 8, why? The publish setting are for ActionScript 2.0 on both.
View 2 RepliesI have a swc plugin embedded in my product to stream live video to a group of recipients.The plugin uses the NetStream, NetGroup and NetConnection objects, the server I use to handle the RTMFP session is Influxis.One client creates a group as a publisher, and stream a live video.His Camera is enabled and I can see the video on the screen as well. The others connect to his group and play the video.Peer assisted Networking is enabled for both the publisher and the recipients.The plugin worked well in all 10.x versions (10.1/10.2/10.3)However, when upgrading to flash player 11.x, it stopped working.
-11.x to 11.x isn't working.
-10.x with 11.x isn't working.
-only 10.x to 10.x is working.
The server I use to handle the RTMFP protocol is Influxis.com I sent them the same question as well.The weirdest fact is that I'm using flash builder 4.6 with 4.6 sdk, which is aimed for flash player 11.1, and it is only working with 10.x flash players.
I'm having a performance problem that seem to be related to Flash Player 11.I noticed this mainly because Chrome auto-updates the flash player. So, it's now up to 11 in Chrome. During a sliding section transition, the flash player chokes and skips about 10-20 frames. In essence the content jumps, not a smooth transitions. You can see this at the following url. Using a browser with 10, plays as intended, a separate browser with 11, chokes and jumps ahead.

Adding it to the stage and then animating them in from the left or right of the stage, using Tweenmax. The one I can't show is a series of images, 1280x640 pixels, 10 in total.Removing items from the stage when they are not visible, so I can get the CPU usage back. On Flash Player 10, this is working as intended.On 11 it jumps. I don't think it's the removing assets from the stage that's choking the player, because the above link has the same issue.I feel like this is a Flash Player 11 performance issue.
When using Loader class to load display objects (bitmaps, SWFs...) from remote URLs, is there any way for them to be instantiated (referenced as we know, by Loader::content property) as some user specified valid subclass? For example if I had a class that extended a Bitmap, is there any way for the loaded object to be of this class?

The reason i ask is my current project has a rotating + enlarging effect which is largely dynamic so sometimes an object may clip the edge of the stage areathis looks messy but i dont want to increase the stage area to cover the largest possible area any object could enter because most of the time the objects are at the center and small so i would end up with a lot of white space
I have a list containing display objects from throughout the application (insertion order). I want to process the list either top-down (parent, child) or bottom up (child, parent). The only requirement is that either a parent is processed before any child or vice versa a child before its parent. What is a good approach? This question is not about sorting a list. It's about retrieving the depth of a particular display object.
Example
Display list:
A (root)
B1
C1
C2
D1
B2
......
My list:
list = [E1, F4, A, B2, B1, C3, ..., N9, N8]
Bottom-up:
N9, N8, F4, E1, C3, B2, B1, A
Top-down:
A, B2, B1, C3, E1, F4, N9, N8
Does not matter if N9 before N8 or N8 before N9. Important is that any N is before M (first run) or any M before its children N* (second run).
I'm pretty new to Action script and I have a problem here that I can't seem to figure out.
I have this Action Script Code which is attached to a simple movieclip, and it all works IF the general settings are set for Flash Player 6.
It does not work for Flash Player 7 or above, which is probably because this is Actions Script 1 Code...

In some cases, such as what my client wants - Flash 6 and Flash 7 players behave slightly differently... a very annoying thing at times.Now, what I need to be able to do is to detect what version of Flash Player the user has. This will be done while my flash application is playing and then run the appropriate part of the function I am writing.Any way to detect what version of Flash Player is running from within the Flash Player?

View 0 RepliesI have two mp4 video files on webserver, i wanted to play them in flash player(flv player) on my asp.net page, but i couldn't be able to play them, i also tried to play them in quick time player the same prob occured. but i waz giving the accurate path, there were no spaces in mp4 file names etc. Does it need to have mp4 player(or codec etc) installed on webserver?
I have also some wmv files on that server , and i am playing perfectly using silver light player, and media player object on my website.
