I am unable to click on "Allow" button in my Adobe Flash Player Settings panel that pop's up because half of it is hidden behind divs making it "unclickable".I tried setting negative z-indices on the divs that are overlaying it and I also tried giving a prositive z-index to the div holding the Flash Player Settings panel
View 2 RepliesI have a movie clip that displays an embedded html with a bunch of divs that are expected to hide and show other divs when the users click them. i.e. imagine that you have a span with an instruction in javascript to show a div when you click it. I already made the html file, the external css and the external js. The movieclip (in actionscript 3.0) loads and displays the html content and also the css, but i haven't managed to figure out how am i supposed to link or use the javascript to do the trick. I've tried so far doing an exhausting research over the internet for the past few days and the only infromation i've got is that web developers use externalInterface to access javascript functions, but they use flash buttons to execute the js code, and it appears to me that i cannot use or embed flash btns in my site. I don't know, I'm kinda new to flash and this is the first time I work with actionscript 3.[code]or how do I achieve de hide/show thing with another method? I'll be wandering around the site in case you have any extra doubts about this subject.

View 4 RepliesBasically the majority of my content is flash based. I designed it using Flash Builder (Flex) and Its in a liquid layout, (everything is in percents) and if im JUST embedding the flash content it scales to the page fine, and i have the flash content set to have a padding of 50 px.
I put a header div in fine with no problems, but I have 2 problems, the first being the footer div seems to cover up the buttom of the flash content in IE, but it looks just fine in chrome. How can I solve this? I'm using the stock embed code that Flex provides, I tried to edit the css style for the div which I think is #flashContent and give it a min width and min height but it didnt seem to work, actually anything I did to #flashContent didn't seem to do anything, maybe its not the div i need to be adding that attribute to...
And my other problem is I dont even know where to start when it comes to placing a div thats 280width by 600height colum to the right side of the flash content. If i could specify a size for the flash content, and the float it left, and float the colum right, and clear it with the container div id be just fine....But remember the flash content is set to 100% Scale (well techically 100%x80% because it looked better that way). how I can start to deal with creating a more complex scaleable flash layouts that includes other divs? ALL WELL MAINTAINING IE SUPPORT? IE is ruining my life.

My global storage settings are set for 1) 'none' , 2)allow 3rd party..unchecked and 3) store common flash... unchecked. I can make changes but when i click another tab and come back to the storage settings tab every thing is still set for 'none' etc. This is true for all the tabs. no change I make is retained once another tab is activated or if I close the browser page. Whatever I do in Publish Setting, Flash software always returns option to be Flash Player 11, I don't get this. I choose Flash Player 8 and AS 2.0 and re-open Publish Settings it is again back on Flash Player 11 and AS 3.0.

View 1 RepliesWhen an Adobe Flash program accesses a camera or microphone in Adobe Flash, Adobe pops up a panel to the user if they want to Allow or Deny access. If the user clicks Deny, I would like to pop the same panel back up. However, trying to access a microphone or camera again doesn't seem to do it.
I know there's Security.showSettings(SecurityPanel.PRIVACY), but this is a slightly different popup which has a "Remember" option which I explicitly do not want.
Is there a way to repeatedly popup the Allow/Deny confirmation without the Remember option?

I am on mac and haven't upgraded my OS from 10.5 to 10.6 so when I upload a file creted in Flash CS5 it won't play because it needs the Latest flash player which uses 10.6 OS.So what I'm getting to is that can I go into "publish" settings and change the Flash player from 10.2 to an older version and then will this work.Also, which version should I change it to? For example sould I select Flash Player 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 or 10.1?

However, the same script in another file that I have doesn't work! There's no alert and no refresh. I tried setting allowscriptaccess to always and that didn't work. I tried changing the publish settings to Flash Player 10, that didn't work.
I use a laptop which is never connected to the web for customer demos away from base. It does not have the Flash authoring environment installed either. Furthermore, a customer's own system used to run development versions of web sites using HTML with Flash content is not guaranteed to have web access either. Because some of the associated FLV files are quite large, uploading to a web host for such testing is not really viable even where clients have web access at meetings.
I have an AS3-based project which triggers Flash 10 local security protection on systems other those that used for authoring, for which the workaround is to set the source folder as trusted using the Flash Player Settings Manager. but [URL] doesn't seem to offer a useful way to avoid this problem without going on line to the Flash Player Settings Manager via an Adobe web site.

View 0 RepliesProblem: Users of our web app are complaining how hard it is to get past Flash Player's Security Panel when they want to make video calls. (Personally, I don't see why it's hard.) We tried several things to guide them through the process, including callouts pointing to the Security Panel area with specific instructions and even an auto-play video. But still some don't get it. I think the biggest confusion is the "Close" button. Users think that it will close the app or the entire window.
Solution #1: It's possible that part of the problem is the small size and styling of the Security Panel.Is it possible to apply a style or skin to the Security Panel, so that it's larger and looks more consistent to our web app?
Solution #2: Perhaps there's also a non-technical solution. Has anyone seen a good implementation of a web app that make it easy for non-technical users to make video calls?

View 1 RepliesI have a problem understanding the bitrate settings when trying to encode an FLV for Flash 8 or higher, using two passes. When you choose to use two passes, you are presented with a bunch of different options, including "Minimum Bitrate [%target]", "Maximum Bitrate [%target]", and "Bitrate Variability [%target]". These are not really explained properly in the online manuals I've seen out there. Let's say you want to have a Costant bitrate (CBR) of 900 kbps, and you want to have two encoding passes, what do you set the other sliders to?
The defaults are:
Minimum Bitrate [%target] 80
Maximum Bitrate [%target] 120
Bitrate Variability [%target] 80

The reason i ask is my current project has a rotating + enlarging effect which is largely dynamic so sometimes an object may clip the edge of the stage areathis looks messy but i dont want to increase the stage area to cover the largest possible area any object could enter because most of the time the objects are at the center and small so i would end up with a lot of white space
