ActionScript 3.0 :: Remove SWFs Under Another?

Nov 20, 2010

I'm using the following code to link to other pages[code]...

When I use that code, I'm assuming that 'biology.swf' is simply placed over the current SWF that is open (as I can still hear the music even though I've gone away from that particular page). Is this correct?And then I'm just wondering if there is a simple way to remove that current SWF and replace it with the new one ('biology.swf)? (I use this code in various pages to link them all together, and I think the more a user navigates around the pages it really slows down the whole program!) I have slight knowledge that in Actionscript 2 you assigned a SWF to a particular layer, but I'm not sure how to go about it in AS3!

ActionScript 3.0 :: External Swfs Load - Remove The Swfs And Sound After A New Button Is Clicked

Nov 13, 2010

I am loading eight external swfs by way of eight buttons with actionscript to remove the swfs and sound after a new button is clicked. This works fine except that as soon as you get to the frame where the actionscript is all the swfs load at one time on top of each other. I don't want any to load until the button is clicked for the right one. MouseEvent listener works but only after all the swfs have loaded. How do I get the swfs to load only when the buttons are clicked. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Add And Remove Swfs With UI Loader?

Nov 9, 2009

I have a flash file with frame labels, home, profile, contact.it also has 4 separate photogalleries, gal1, gal2, gal3, gal4 also in frame labels. the galleries are all separate swf files. I used the UI loader and added gal1.swf and 3 more separate loaders for the rest of the galleries. What happens is after you select the first gallery the mouse becomes invisible because the loader is still on the stage. How do I remove the loader from the stage each time I use a button?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Remove External Swfs Completely From Memory?

Jan 14, 2011

I have developed a touchscreen application that works perfectly fine except for the memory issue. Basically, the touchscreen app works kinda like a website with navgation on the side and content displaying next to it. I separeate each section into external swfs, and load each one up when it is needed, thinking it would reduce memory used on the pc. But unlike actionscript 2, AS 3 would not remove the external swfs from the memory. You can remove it from the stage and you won't see it, but the swf will still stay in the memory! So... as you navigate through the app, loading up all these external swf, even I do loader.unloadAndStop();, the swf is still there, and they just keep piling up in the memory as you navigate from the app. After leaving the touchscreen for a day or 2, having all these users naviage through it,  all the external swfs will just completely consume all the resources and freeze the pc.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Loading Other Swfs From Loaded Swfs?

Aug 2, 2006

Flash - 8 : Above is an example of what I would like to do/have done. I've gotten as far as loading the "loaded.swf" into the "start.swf" but my problem is I'd love to use that little loading action I made earlier without copying and pasting into the new movie the same actions for a different link. So, how do I load "loaded2.swf" into "loaded.swf" via the link in "loaded.swf"?

IDE :: Transitions Between External SWFs / Close Button For External Swfs

Aug 15, 2005

I recently created a site using the "Transitions between External SWFs" tutorial for Flash MX 2004. I use this to load the sections of my site into the main movie file. Each section is an External SWF file. When a viewer clicks on a navigation button, the specific external swf move will load and play. Currently, a viewer would need to click on another navigation option to close the current external swf file. I would like to add a close button to each of the external swfs so that a view has the option to close the window without clicking on a naviagtion link.

Navigating Between The Swfs?

Feb 2, 2011

I'm a born-again newbie, as it's been awhile, so bear with me...I have a main movie, with the menus and some basic info. I would like each section of the portfolio to load as a separate swf (to save on file size)...we were hoping to have the back/next, copyright buttons on top of a full size image...but my question is how to navigate the home button to return to the main movie with the menus...the old site had separate sections loading into an mtClip with the following code:

loadMovie("vr4.swf", 1);

then when you click home:

on (release) {
gotoAndStop("home");
unloadMovieNum(1);
}

how to code the home button on the section swfs to unload the movie, but return to the main movie without reloading?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Loading SWFs From Another SWF?

Feb 1, 2012

I have a SWF that contains 3 spaces for banners on a 'My Account' page. Initially they all showed the same banners to all customers but now we segment customers and that means each banner can have numerous variations. This has caused the SWF to be massive (over half a meg) for something we aim to have 80-100 Kb.

I believe the solution is to have the current 'main' SWF be a place-holder that decides what segment the customer is in for each banner then pull another SWF file from the server - so only the banner being displayed is the one being downloaded.I cannot find AS to download externally hosted SWFs...

ActionScript 3.0 :: Unloading Swf Between Two Swfs?

Dec 3, 2008

I have a UI that loads swf in the content area when several buttons are clicked (these buttons are menu1, menu2 et.c) the code is as follows and it is working fine...

import fl.controls.Button;
import flash.display.Loader;
import flash.net.URLRequest;[code].....

So clicking the first button brings up a main menu in the main content area...with four menu options (buttons labelled mainMenu1, mainMenu2 etc.) When you click one of these main menu options, the corresponding swf should be loaded in place of the main menu (in the main contant area).

However this is not happening and the main menu is staying around and not being unloaded. Is this because the main menu swf is in a loader created in the parent swf, but the main menu loader is in the main menu swf. So I think in effect i have two loaders appearing at the same time.

import fl.controls.Button;
import flash.display.Loader;
import flash.net.URLRequest;
import flash.events.MouseEvent;[code]......

ActionScript 3.0 :: SWFs Loading On Top Of Each Other?

Apr 9, 2009

The three buttons on the stage all load remote SWFs into the same location ... Each succesive button that is pressed is supposed to load a movie that takes the place of the one that is currently thereThe problem is, each button click merely loads it's movie underneath the existing one ... so they just keep stacking up on top of one another. I need a way for the code to check if a movie is loaded, and if so, unload that one first before it loads the current one I though an "if" statement could check to see if the "swfLoader" instance is fully loaded, and then if it is, it would know to remove child I know there must be a more efficient way to see if anything is on the stage

stop();
