Is there a maximum size limit for files being uploaded in Adobe Flex?I am testing it on localhost and can't upload a file of roughly 300MB.Even though I receive the complete event, after I upload the file....I was able to upload a file of roughly 10MB.
I am uploading files, jpgs, pngs, gifs, using filereference ... no problems.
my concern is the validity of the files that a user might upload.
for instance, I took a .txt file, changed it's extension to .jpg, and filereference was able to upload it to my server ( furthermore my php script was able to create a copy of it, resize the copy, and save it also ).
I created a website a year ago using Macromedia Flash 8 and uploaded some flv files. (They were quick time movies and I converted it to flv) On my old computer I could view the files online perfectly. However since then we have gotten two new computers that came with Adobe Flash Player 10 and now every time I go to my websites I can't view my flv anymore. I click on the link and it won't pop up. Does this have anything to do with the fact I made the site with Flash 8? Because when I converted the files it said it was compatible with Flash Player 8 or later so I don't know why I can't view it now.
1) I am working on a custom FLV player for a website. The users will upload various FLV files onto folders on the server and I would like the users to have the ability to browse those folders and select a video to play.
2) Also, as I will be having the users upload their videos via fileReference in Flash, as soon as their upload of a particular video is complete, I would like the video they just uploaded to begin playing or be loaded and ready to be played. Is there a good way to pass the video name directly into the FLV player on the completion of the download so it can begin playing or at least be ready to play?
I want users to be able to upload audio files to my server (say, over HTTP.. mechanism doesn't matter much), and then I'd like to assemble those files into a playlist and stream them out over a live RTMP stream to a Flash widget.The catch is: I'd like to begin streaming the audio files before they completely finish uploading. For example, if a user uploads an hour-long mp3, I'd like it to be able to begin playing on the RTMP stream once, say, the first minute has been uploaded.I'd like to support mp3 and AAC, and would hope to avoid re-encoding the files. Is is there a way to make this work with Wowza, Flash Media Server, or some other clever solution?
I just uploaded my exported swf to the site for the first time and it's running the movie but, either not reading the xml file or reading the xml and not loading the images.
I have a flash template that I bought and customized with dreamweaver, flash and Coda html editor, the website test PERFECTLY when I test the index.html file, all of the buttons work fine, I have a total of 12 .flv videos and they ALL play back fine, when I play the index.html file, the problem occurs when I upload the files to my godaddy server, 11 of the videos play fine, the whole site is fine, it is one particular .flv file that will not play once it is uploaded to the server. I have changed the orders the video play, renamed the file and changed the html flv path to reflect the name change, I have deleted all the files off my server, refreshed the server logged out and re logged on and uploaded everything again, I have re-encoded the original .mov file to a .flv file again using Adobe media encoder, still nothing, I am wondering why would the index.html play this particular .flv file fine, but once uploaded to the server it will not play, the path is correct I have checked it, if the path were the problem the index.html for that particular file would not play when I test the index.html file before I upload it, but it plays fine until it is uploaded, I am uploading the whole folder on the root, and this particular video file is in a folder with all the rest of the .flv files, I even tried changing the path and putting this particular .flv file in a seperate folder and change the path still nothing.
My xml data [URL]. I need to load this xml data through httpservice and in the handle result function I need to access the individual data like complaints.complaint.title using for loop function. I had tried this I couldn't get the result as I need
<s:HTTPService id="Complaints" url="[URL]" result="Complaints_resultHandler(event)" fault="Complaints_faultHandler(event)" > </s:HTTPService> <fx:Script> <![CDATA[ protected function Complaints_resultHandler(event:ResultEvent):void { [Code] ..... I need to get the data like title, complainturl, latitude, longtitude etc.
Since URLLoader is async, how to make sure the order of data from server side is the same as the loader.load() call? In other words, the data order in totalResults is the same order of url-related content?
Following is code snippet:
1.for each(var url in urls) { loadData(url); } 2.private function loadData(url:String):void {
How can I save some text information in local hard-disk with out the server support. I know shared object, but i dont use this. I need to save all these function in anther external file as text.
Is there any way to do that in AS3.0.
I don't prefer Flex, am working in Action Script 3.0 & Flash IDE
EDIT:
My swf is saved in a local machine. So no server interaction or browser interaction. the swf is running a local folder and read txt files from local folder, and save once press the save button.
I've an AIR app which prints a couple of DataGrids with approximately 3 pages worth of data each. I get great-looking printouts, but the printing is slow - I noticed that printing these 6 pages + a title page and a page of lightweight images was sent to the printer in a file of almost 50 MB (on Windows). Is this a normal size for a printed DataGrid? Is there anything I can do to make it smaller and faster?
How can i call a CGI script in flex 3? Also how can i retrieve the result of exection of that cgi script?
For example, lets say my CGI script(hello.cgi) just display "hello world". How can i call this script from flex 3 and then retrieve the result, i.e. hello world , so that it can be displayed on my flex application.
using the latest facebook actionscript library, I upload an image using: Facebook.api('me/photos', etc...) it returns an ID, which method would I call to get the url of the uploaded image?
private var filer:FileReference; protected function button1_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void { var fd:String = "Files (*)";
[code]....
And my file looks like this:
[URL]
I need to read the uploaded file and parse it. The problem is that in my e.currentTarget.data.toString(); I get only '1' and not the rest of the String. how to successfully read this entire txt file?
XML is cool in flex, but I have an annoying problem to solve, caused by what I can imagine is a feature. You see, when you have just one tag of something, it creates an object which is not an array. But when finds more than one, it puts it on an array structure.[code]I could check the format of resObj.specifictag (to check if it is has an array) and then duplicate the code (for each case). But -even if it's calling a function- I don't think it is an elegant solution.Well, I hope someone has a good idea on this matter. (I know from experience that SO has much more C++ experts than flex, but well...)The perfect thing would be that HTTPrequest handled every tag in a consistent way (using always arrays... though I'm guessing that that would also have its drawbacks).
i need a simple python lib that check the uploaded files to my webserver are flash media (FLV), by reading the flv header (metadata) and not the mimetype extension.
I'm trying to feed data from SQL database to FLEX, using php script in the middle. I see the data in body of message in the Network Monitor and in "Variable" window during debug, but i cant retrieve them to XML.
Below (event.message.toString())
(mx.messaging.messages::AcknowledgeMessage)#0 body = "<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <articles> <node><id>2</id>
I need to make a function that execute a java method and return his result. It is static becouse a lot of other functions will call this function. So I did this:
public static function FKDescription(dest:String):String{ var jRemote:RemoteObject = new RemoteObject(); var s:String;
[Code].....
But the function returns null, because the valresult() was not been called at the end of main function. What shoud I do to make FKDescription() return the string that came from remoteobject?
Using the following SQLite statement: SELECT Customer, SUM(OrderAmount) AS TotalOrder FROM OrdersTable GROUP BY Customer I get the result of total sum (total order) of each customer. How can I put the above result into a itemRenderer label.text ?
In my Flex Application I am receiving Unicode result from back end ( web service) an displaying it in Flex Label component Eg. Response string = [u8868u7af9uff5eFulfillment
I am binding response to label component When I am displaying it in label its not showing me Japanese character .Storing this information in properties file works
I'm attempting to upload a file using FileRef and a php script. The file uploads and it definitely returns a test string ( I can see it with a web debugger).. but I can't grab that string in my flex app. I am using a DataEvent listener and a COMPLETE listener Still no result.What am I doing wrong here?
fileRef.addEventListener(DataEvent.UPLOAD_COMPLETE_DATA, onFileResponse); fileRef.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, fileRef_complete); private function fileRef_complete(evt:Event):void{
In Flash/Flex, is it possible to capture the result of 'trace' in code?
So, for example, if one part of the code calls trace("foo"), I'd like to automatically capture the string "foo" and pass it to some other function.
Edit: I'm not interested in trying to use trace instead of a proper logging framework... I want to write a plugin for FlexUnit, so when a test fails it can say something like: "Test blah failed. Here is the output:
Edit 2: I only want to capture the results of trace. Or, in other words, even though my code uses a proper logging framework, I want to handle gracefully code that's still using trace for logging.
This code is for my login component. I want to get a special string for encrypting my password. This string is given by my authservice. But when i login i get a multiple times a alert with Done(line 69 in the pastebin code or line 4 in the code on the bottom of this question). But i want that it shows one single time. Does someone know what is wrong with this code?
protected function tryLogin():void { encryptStringResult.addEventListener('result', function(event:ResultEvent):void { var encryptString:String = event.result.toString();
I am trying to bind an ArrayCollection result coming in from the server to my DataGrid created dynamically in AS. The result data is not getting Displayed in the Grid. var dg:DataGrid = new DataGrid(); dg.width=650; dg.dataProvider=someArrayCollfromServer;
I am adding the dgColumn as runtime based on some data from a XML and it is the same as defined in below static format. But if I use the same code and create the DataGrid as a Flex Component as below, it works fine. <mx:DataGrid id="dg" width="100%" height="100%" dataProvider="{someArrayCollfromServer}"> <mx:columns> <mx:DataGridColumn dataField="Value" headerText="Value"/> <mx:DataGridColumn dataField="Code" headerText="Code" /> </mx:columns> </mx:DataGrid>
This works fine. Is there some functionality or implementation different as far as DataGrid is concerned in Flex and AS.
