Feb 4, 2010I am trying to access data from an array. The array is in the root and I am trying to get it's data into a submovie. In as2 it would have been:
mylabel.text = _root.myarray[1];
So, i have tried:
mylabel.text = root.myarray[1];
and
mylabel.text = (this.root as Array).myarray[1];
and tons of other configurations.. I get the 1119 error no matter what i do. I am beginning to think I just can't get the info from the array in a sub movie..

Jul 14, 2011I have parsed an xml message into several arrays inside a function. I am able to see the data with a trace when it is placed inside the function, but I get a "parameter cannot be null" when the trace is outside the function.

Media Server :: FLV Files Are Not Getting Saved At The Particular Location?
May 16, 2011FLV files are not getting saved at the particular location mentioned in the application.xml file on FMS. Instead we are getting log in the log folder and instance which is joined to the FMS in the http folder on the FMS. Is their any way to find out why we are not getting saved those files at that location?

Oct 22, 2006I've created a SharedObject on My Computer, saved it in a movie, and ran the movie again and data came up well enough.My problem is, I want to delete the SharedObject saved on my hard-drive. I currenly have Flash 8, and Flash MX 2004 uses the .sol extention, but I can't find the SharedObject anywhere on my computer. With the release of Flash 8, did they change the SharedObject file extention? Is there a way to set up the path to which SharedObjects should be saved in your script file? The second parameter of the getLocal() method, stores a URL. Is that the same as a directory on your computer?

Oct 19, 2009I have an interface file, which allows the user to drag mc's onto the stage and save their xy position in accordance to a position on a timeline. For example, mc1 is at x50, y50 at timeline position 1.I am using an array to save all parameters. When the user is finished they can click play to view an animation of the mc's moving about the stage.I want a button which will somehow save this animation into an external swf. This swf needs to be independent as it will be loaded onto a website.I have tried to figure this out in many ways. I am new to actionscript but slowlly getting there.I have looked into using a shared object, to save the xy positions etc which are then loaded into the swf2. The problem with this, is the swf2 is dependent on the SO plus the SO is temporary. I need to be able to hand swf2 over to the guy to put on his website.I have also looked into using an intermediate .as code file. I have worked out how to put an mc onto swf2 using the graphic held in the interfaces library. I started working out how to click a button on the interface swf which then attaches the mc into swf2.. but then I realised swf2 still isnt independent.

They don't answer their phones or emails. The website is hosted on their server, and I don't have the FTP details. I can mirror or copy my site onto my local computer, and re upload the site to a real company. I have access to my domain, so I can just point it to a new server after I have downloaded the website files to my computer.

I need to do this because I dont have complete control or curtain aspects and need to change menu tilte data ( French or English ) depending on what the Webpage Title data is displayed. I have serverside code in the title eg.{title} that will start with either "Welcome" or "Bienvenue".
So I need to retrieve the first word or amount of characters compair.

Apr 15, 2012here's the thing, i need to store different values in a 2d array (or something conceptually similar). The idea is to create a 2d map with tiles and the array would save the ID of every tile in the map. I'm trying to create something mildly efficient, specially because i need to save some memory usage for later use (it has to do with AI) and it must run on a low end PC, but simply creating an array seems to be a waste of space since i only have about 50 different IDs at any given map.i thought about creating a 2d array of 8bit chars would be sufficient, but that's out of the question with actionscript 3, it doesn't have 8bit char data type.

I also have a corresponding array variable called _ballPlaced which returns true or false if a ball is placed in a target zone.
What I would like to do is retrieve the array value variable from the ball[#] at any time.
For instance, the ball[#] variable can be clicked and dragged, so when it's selected it becomes the event.target. E.g. How can I put the array value of the ball[0] in the ball _ballPlaced array.[code]...

Jul 31, 2009I'm trying to figure out the best way to compare a single bitmap against perhaps an array of saved bitmaps to see how close of a match it may be to any one of the bitmaps stored in the array. Right now I'm running a for loop that uses the bitmapData.compare() method to try to compare to see how much of a variance there is but... to be honest I'm at a loss as to how to use the resulting data to do so. Does anyone know of any good method to accomplish what I am trying to do? Forget looking at my code it's a waste of time because simply, it's not working.

The following as3 code places an input field and submit button which allows a user to type in a postcode into the input box and click search and what should be returned in a list of all the properties that have that postcode.
