Retrieve POST Data In Flash Movie?
Oct 5, 2010I have a web page with a button that does a redirect to another web page with a flash movie in it. The button on the first page sends http post data as part of it's functionality.

Aug 20, 2010I've noticed that when I use NetConnection.call(methodName) in my client Actionscript it sends a POST request off to the server. I thought this was odd because requests for data are normally GET operations but I didn't worry about it because it doesn't impact my applicationow I have our sysadmin complaining about the amount of data I'm shifting over POST requests because POST requests aren't cached by the web servers (and we are working with the kind of traffic levels where that matters.) Is there anyway I can make call() use GET?The code I'm using is all fairly standard, but here is the relevant snippit:

Aug 2, 2009Currently I'm setting up a webservice, which includes a login to access the member area.I'm testing all components seperately, and I've ran into a problem. When the user logs in I want flash to retrieve the user_id as a variable, so that I can use this user_id for member related database access. However, I'm having problems with retrieving the user_id.The login is done by inputting the email and password of the user. If these variables match the data in the database the user is send to the member area. I want to get the user_id by posting the email variable to a php file. In the php file the following code is responsible for this:

For example, I'd like to display images (fetched from the database using XML) in a flash file where in i want to display 3 records in a row and rest of the images to appear in the next row having the set of 3 images in each rows. I'm having a hard time handling this task.

Nov 2, 2009I am building a flash app to retrieve XML data which depends on what a user searches for. The following as3 code places an input field and submit button which allows a user to type in a postcode into the input box and click search and what should be returned in a list of all the properties that have that postcode.

However, this doesn't seem to happen. Instead an error is returned. I've never worked with flash and xml before so just taken the above xml bits from online websites but cant get it working.

Feb 2, 2009I am newie to Flash and actionscript. However, I have some years of programming experience, Java, VC++, JSP, ASP, and etc.Now, I have a project to about E-Business. I want a method to embed some data into a flash then retrieve it later. The idea is that I want some secure protection for the data embeded, then the data (maybe audio, video, or photoes) is encrypted first (so the data is changed) and embeded into the flash. When the viewer want to view the flash, it will be prompted to input a password, then the flash will try to use the password to decrypt the data and let the flash player show it.

if I were to run the php script itself, the data could be retrieved from database. However, if I run in Flash, it returns a null value.

Dec 8, 2009I'm basically interacting with a third party API flash file to send HTTP POST requests to my server. know I'm on somewhat the right path because it requires a crossdomain.xml file, and before I added that part nothing in the POST variables was showing up, however since I added that file there are 4 variables that are set, these POST variables are sent by the application to give me basic information about the file.. but I actually need to read the RAW POST data to actually save the image being sent by the Flash.I'm aware there are 3 ways...$GLOBALS['HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA'] $HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA which is probably the same as the firstfile_get_contents('php://input')For whatever reason, neither of these "work". By "work" I mean they're not being set, when I var dump them I get nothing.
Could it be that there's a setting in php.ini that I need to set, or perhaps the Flash application is truly not sending the actual image? I think it's doing the right thing, because it's a semi popular API and it's used by a couple other sites so I'm pretty sure it's right on their end.

The client comes to a .aspx page with a form requiring a username and a password. 2. On the server side I confirm the user credential . Once the username/password is valid I redirect to the mxml file with the config.xml file in the html headers (post).My problem comes when I need to get the post data from the http request. I need to save this drawing on the server using php. I have to convert the movieclip (canvas_mc) into png and jpeg and save it. I have successfully save it on local drive using some classes available in

Sep 16, 2010This code is being run from a frameset in IE8. When the new window is opened, the form data is not being recognized. It appears that the http header, "content-type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded", is not being passed into IE and this is causing the post data not to be processed. The data is there, IE is just doing nothing with it.
This code works fine in FF and Chrome, and in fact the correct headers are passed in FF and Chrome.
NOTE: The new page is on a different site, but i don't know why that would cause a problem with a POST and not a GET.
Flash code:

I have tried adding the header to the send request, but that has no effect at all. The contenttype header is still missing and it still works everywhere but IE.
My current work around is to use a GET instead of a post, but that's ugly and it limits us in the size of data we can pass but for now at least it works.

Actionscript 3 :: URLLoader.load POST - Getting Http Status=0 And No Data. Works In Flash IDE
Jul 13, 2011I am making rest calls with a urlload.load(urlRquest).
also
urlRequest.method = URLRequestMethod.POST;
urlRequest.contentType = "application/xml";
When I make the calls within the Flash IDE, I get HTTPStatusEvent.status = 400 (or whatever) when an error occurs. And the IOErrorEvent.data contains xml (or sometimes a string).
However, when I run the swf in a browser (Firefox Mac or PC), the HTTPStatusEvent.status = 0, and the IOErrorEvent.data is empty. (Interestingly in Safari Mac, I do get the 400 status, but still no data.)

Nov 2, 2010I was saving something on Flash when it crashed on me. Now I can't open it anymore, even though it still exists on my computer. I click on it to open it and Flash tells me that it has 'failed to open' it. I really don't want to start over again because it means another week of missed sleep and meals. Is there any way I can retrieve the document? I was using Flash CS5.

Feb 4, 2010I am trying to access data from an array. The array is in the root and I am trying to get it's data into a submovie. In as2 it would have been:
mylabel.text = _root.myarray[1];
So, i have tried:
mylabel.text = root.myarray[1];
and
mylabel.text = (this.root as Array).myarray[1];
and tons of other configurations.. I get the 1119 error no matter what i do. I am beginning to think I just can't get the info from the array in a sub movie..
