Flash :: Retrieve Movie Corrupted By Program Crashing?
Nov 2, 2010
I was saving something on Flash when it crashed on me. Now I can't open it anymore, even though it still exists on my computer. I click on it to open it and Flash tells me that it has 'failed to open' it. I really don't want to start over again because it means another week of missed sleep and meals. Is there any way I can retrieve the document? I was using Flash CS5.
I have a web page with a button that does a redirect to another web page with a flash movie in it. The button on the first page sends http post data as part of it's functionality.
I need to insert a Flash movie in a Visual Basic 2008 express form and send parameters to the movie, but am a newbie to VB. The flash movie will plot points sent by VB in a graph.I tried to insert the Shockwave Flash control in the form but cannot find it anywhere. So I inserted the webbrowser control, which I understand can be used to a similar purpose. But how would I send the values of X and Y (coordinates to plot in Flash) to the flash swf?
I own and I am trying learn and use the CS3 Master collection which comes with Flash 9. I own and had a website built several (9) years ago which I am trying to update the files, So basiclly, I am trying to make updated changes to my own orginal .swf files and todays Flash program give me the message of "cannot open protected movie" I was not ever aware we locked any of the oringal .swf files we produced.
I have a big ressource XFL file which keeps a lot of graphic ressources for a computer game.It contains a lot of externally linked graphic symbols (Linked as AS3 classes)This file is extremely prone to getting corrupt after just a few changes. It's like walking through a mine-field.The main symptom is: Suddendly flash starts duplicating layers and Symbols - seemingly endless! What can it be that triggers this? I always close and re-open the file when this happen and everything is back to normal for some minor changes until it happens again. There are also some symbols where it takes almost half a minute before it can be displayed in the library preview window when clicking on it in the library, with very high CPU consumptions.Being a programmer myself I suspect that there is something like a "feedback loop" that causes this behaviour: Some internal back-referencing of nested symbols which gets caught in some kind of loop at a certain point.
I'm calling a php page from my Actionscript which generates XML and sends it back to me. No problem; I've done this hundreds of times before. Now, however, I get a weird problem: The *second* time (and subsequent times) I call the php page, the returned XML looks like[code]...
I was working on an animation for a project and Flash told me it couldn't save and Save As wasn't working. The program crashed and the file I was working on was corrupted. I doubled my effort on getting back to where I was on my project, being extra careful not to do what caused it to crash before. Unfortunately, fate was not on my side, and it did it again. Obviously I'm screwed, but still I like to keep on to my projects and upload them to megaswf or something to share on facebook. I'm using CS5 btw.
I want to save an image using PHP. Everything seems to work fine, but when I try to open the picture, I get an error message: "it is not possible to open the file, the jpg file may be corrupted".
I'm combining streams from a number of cameras together into a recorded stream, let's called it 'serverstream.flv'. The source streams are all from webcams, and each user is assigned a stream name based on their name and a user id, like '1_bob' and '2_julie'.
Sometimes the presenters stop broadcasting temporarily and we just switch to a blank window. The stream on the server side stops recording at that point by calling[code]...
i have noticed a problem i have loaded maths sums by xml. This work fine soon. The problem occurs when i add division symbol by pressing the numeric keypad holding down alt 0247. The symbols come in corrupted into flash
Let me ask how to program an html page to move to a new web page on user's clicking an item of an embedded flash movie? But , in detail, I actually want to do a little different thing. I want that the parent html page remains there ,instead I want a child html frame has a new page after user's clicking the list item of the embedded flash movie.
Im trying to add an exit button onto my program so when its clicked it exits the program completely.. I've tried some of the suggestions on the forums but they arnt working. what I have been using and its not working..
// CLICK to Exit exit_Btn.addEventListener("mouseUp", goExit); function goExit(evt:MouseEvent) { fscommand("quit"); };
So after I installed CS5 Design Premium, flash often crashes; luckily it doesn't crash the browser (which I guess is the feature on the browsers these days), so a refresh reloads flash and things usually work a couple times; then flash crashes again.
This a known issue? Or am I the only experiencing this? This happens on both my Macs (Mac Pro and MacBook Pro). I've already tried reinstalling and getting the latest updates. Those don't work (since there are no updates either).
I need to program a timer for a typing tutorial program. It needs to go to 5 minutes. When the timer gets to 5 minutes the movie has to go to frame 13 which displays the results of the typing test.
I'm using Flash CS5 on Windows 7. I was working on a file and went to save (CTRL+S) and the Save dialog locked up and Windows gave me an error that said "Flash has stopped working. Close Program" So I did and restarted Flash. When I tried to open the file I was working on, Flash said "Unexpected File Format" The file size of the SWF is right, it's not 0kb or anything. This is about 3 weeks worth of work on here. I'm checking the backup tape for our company server, but that will still set me back about half a day (which is better than nothing I suppose)
I've created a flash exe presentation. I checked the CD before I sent it out, and it worked fine on the PC that I was testing it on. (it was created on a mac). Anywho... I sent it out and now some people are having issues with flash crashing, while other are having no trouble. I used a CD duplicated, so all the CDs should be the same. I'm thinking it may be a global setting, but I don't normally work on PC and don't know what it could be. Here is the error message they receive:
Error message: Adobe Flash Player 10.1 r52 has encountered a problem and needs to close. Then once I click the error report to read the reporting details it says: this error includes information regarding the condition of adobe flash player 10.1 r52 when the problem occurred; the operating system version and computer hardware in use; your digital product ID, which could be used to identify your license; and the internet protocol (IP) addresses of your computer.
I've been using Flash Video Encoder for quite a while now and never had a problem encoding flash from wmv. But in the last week suddenly encoding crashes on ever attempt. At first I thought it was a change in the format of the video that was being introduced, but then I tired videos that I know that I've converted previously. They crash too. I've also tried on 3 different computers, that have all had success in the past.
I was wondering if anyone else has been experiencing the same problem with flash that I have. For me Flash can't even stay open for 5 seconds without it completely crashing and having to restart.
When I copy and paste an illlustrator file into Flash, it keeps quitting on me. I can't seem to get past the first step. Is there some kind of bug fix i can download. I have a big project to start and I have to get this figured out soon!!
I'm building this whack-a-turkey game and every time the countdown clock reaches 00:00, if I try to do anything other than stop the timers, it makes Flash crash.I've commented my code below where it crashes and you can also check ou the app here.[code].....
i have been using flash cs5 for like a week and almost everytime i try to save, make a movieclip, or test my file flash decides its going to crash so my work often is gone.. non existant after that. The error message that pops up is something about aflamingo.dll.
Since I purchased flash CS4 (upgrading from flash 8), I have gradually shifted from writing code in AS2 to AS3. Now all of my projects are in AS3 except 1, it's an old legacy project written in such a way that conversion would be almost impossible. Earlier today I started to work on it and then tried to compile it causing flash to crash. After about an hour I realised that whenever I compile an AS2 project flash crashed. After trying to download patches, restarting countless times and searching the internet for similar bugs, I uninstalled and reinstalled flash. But to no avail, the bug persisted. So I decided to create an acount and post about the bug I encountered on this form, hoping that somone might know about it.
I am a flash games developer, and I am currently working on a game that is truly massive. The main file size is over 250MB.It's been a work in progress for about 4 months of solid work.Due to the size of the file, I prefer to create things like characters and objects in another file. I then need to import it over, replacing old movieclips.
When copying and pasting now, it always crashes, or tells me that its run out of virtual memory. It appears to be impossible to get it all over, even bit by bit.I've saved and compacted, I've saved as, I've moved it onto another disk drive. All of the above seemed to help temporarily, but I'm now at a stage where nothing is working.I don't think the file is corrupted in anyway. I've had no problems with any other component of flash. Just the copying.I just don't understand what's so intensive about moving over an object of about 10-20 mb.My computer is quite high performance, 5.6ghz, 4gb of ram.
I've asked for help on so many forums now, and all i get is criticism at my file size. Well it can't be helped. It's a massive game.I've tried using a runtime shared library, but unfortunately it doesn't allow attachmovie to get it from the library. It seems the identifier is only being used to connect the 2 libraries when you set up a runtime shared library.attachmovie is very important to the code and it can't be done any other way.
I recently purchased KoolMoves flash program. How to add a start and stop button to a movie? I want to use the 3dball movie in my website. I exported it as a flash movie and placed it in my website, but it is autostarting and I don't want it work this way. I got the 3dball movie from the Animation Libraries, Animated Clip Art, in the KoolMoves program.
I have created a flash program and I would like to run a second flash program from inside the first. To explain, say I am running a program that draws a circle and fills it with a color. Then, I have designed a second program that will divide a circle into sectors by entering percentages, to turn that circle into a pie chart. Is there a way to be running the "draw a circle" program and have a button that opens the "divide the circle into sectors" program in a new window and then passes information from that program to the first program. I am sure I will have to send the information from the second program to an XML file and then have the first program recieve it from the XML file (which I can do), but I don't know if I can run the second program from inside the first program.
