Professional :: Possible To Recover Corrupted FLA File?
Nov 16, 2011
I was working on an animation for a project and Flash told me it couldn't save and Save As wasn't working. The program crashed and the file I was working on was corrupted. I doubled my effort on getting back to where I was on my project, being extra careful not to do what caused it to crash before. Unfortunately, fate was not on my side, and it did it again. Obviously I'm screwed, but still I like to keep on to my projects and upload them to megaswf or something to share on facebook. I'm using CS5 btw.
I have a big ressource XFL file which keeps a lot of graphic ressources for a computer game.It contains a lot of externally linked graphic symbols (Linked as AS3 classes)This file is extremely prone to getting corrupt after just a few changes. It's like walking through a mine-field.The main symptom is: Suddendly flash starts duplicating layers and Symbols - seemingly endless! What can it be that triggers this? I always close and re-open the file when this happen and everything is back to normal for some minor changes until it happens again. There are also some symbols where it takes almost half a minute before it can be displayed in the library preview window when clicking on it in the library, with very high CPU consumptions.Being a programmer myself I suspect that there is something like a "feedback loop" that causes this behaviour: Some internal back-referencing of nested symbols which gets caught in some kind of loop at a certain point.
I'm using Flash CS5 on Windows 7. I was working on a file and went to save (CTRL+S) and the Save dialog locked up and Windows gave me an error that said "Flash has stopped working. Close Program" So I did and restarted Flash. When I tried to open the file I was working on, Flash said "Unexpected File Format" The file size of the SWF is right, it's not 0kb or anything. This is about 3 weeks worth of work on here. I'm checking the backup tape for our company server, but that will still set me back about half a day (which is better than nothing I suppose)
I have a swf. With a script inside that I need to recover the URL this same swf, dynamically (via actionscrit). But I don't know a actionscript command that return the url of the swf.
I'm calling a php page from my Actionscript which generates XML and sends it back to me. No problem; I've done this hundreds of times before. Now, however, I get a weird problem: The *second* time (and subsequent times) I call the php page, the returned XML looks like[code]...
I want to save an image using PHP. Everything seems to work fine, but when I try to open the picture, I get an error message: "it is not possible to open the file, the jpg file may be corrupted".
I have a page (MovieClip) which is charger and have a attribut a matrix (not the class). On this page, there is some cases (MovieClip) which receive value of the matrix.
Each cases are managed by Class. It's a good option, because I can put a listener into the contructor of the class and not having 64 functions if I have 64 cases. This listener allows to change the value of the cases when it clicked.
The problem is that I don't see how to know when a case is clicked in the page for changing the value of the matrix.
I'm combining streams from a number of cameras together into a recorded stream, let's called it 'serverstream.flv'. The source streams are all from webcams, and each user is assigned a stream name based on their name and a user id, like '1_bob' and '2_julie'.
Sometimes the presenters stop broadcasting temporarily and we just switch to a blank window. The stream on the server side stops recording at that point by calling[code]...
i have noticed a problem i have loaded maths sums by xml. This work fine soon. The problem occurs when i add division symbol by pressing the numeric keypad holding down alt 0247. The symbols come in corrupted into flash
Using Adobe Flash CS3 on a sometimes dual monitor setup. After attaching back to my docking station, and starting up Flash CS3, the window is off the edge of the right hand monitor somewhere, and I am not sure where. The mouse cursor makes it look like the window is somewhere off the lower right hand corner of the screen somewhere, but even after holding in the left and up arrows for a long time, there is no motion, and the window never appears. I can maximize the program back to my primary monitor, but this is hardly an ideal solution.
I have found the following registry entry, but am unsure if it applies to what I'm having problems with or what the format of the entry is: HKEY_CURRENT_USERAdobeFlash 9SettingsWindow
I was saving something on Flash when it crashed on me. Now I can't open it anymore, even though it still exists on my computer. I click on it to open it and Flash tells me that it has 'failed to open' it. I really don't want to start over again because it means another week of missed sleep and meals. Is there any way I can retrieve the document? I was using Flash CS5.
How can I access to an object who fires an eventListener event?
Let's say I have a mc:
var element = new MovieClip();
which has an eventlistener: element.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, elementEventHandler);
[Code]....
So that is what I want to achieve... Recover the object who fired the event and then do crazy things with it (in this example, add another object in it).
pd: yes, I know I can directly use the var element in this snippet, but in the real code I'm generating the mcs in a loop, according to a xml file.
My Flex app uses local SharedObjects. There have been incidents of the Flash cookie getting corrupt, for example, due to a plugin crash. In this case SharedObjects.getLocal will throw an exception (#2006).
My client wants the app to recover gracefully: if the cookie is corrupt, I should replace it with an empty one. The problem is, if SharedObject.getLocal doesn't return an instance of SharedObject, I've nothing to call clear() on. How can I delete or replace such a cookie?
I am developing a software in flash in which I need to draw some points in a movie clip dynamically with moveTo() and lineTo() during the runtime of the software. However, later in the future (during runtime), given the (x,y) coordinates of a point, I need to know if this specific point is part of the curve I drew before. Is there a way of doing that without saving the (x,y) coordinates of all the points I have drawn in the movie clip?
Is it possible to recover the HttpHeader information from a flex Client? I want to do the following:
User download the flex client from a web site
In each communication flex client catch the HttpHeader information in order to change (If it is necessary) the host information to be connected (For example in a HA configuration)
I have created a booklet in InDesign cs4 that includes page turn transitions. I have saved it as a SWF file and it works perfectly on my PC with the ability to sweep through the page turns. My issue is now, what type of file can I export the SWF file to so that I can view it on an iPad and am still able to have the page curls?
I have a problem with SharedObject. I created SharedObject using AS2.0 it's working fine.... my question is can it possible to store the variable values in an .txt file where the flash file is saved... basically the SharedObject will store the vallues in localdrive with file extention. not only using SharedObject if any other way to store the vaules in .txt file will be helpfull for me... my requirement is to store the the position of the swf file and when the time it reopen, it should start from previous position.
I changed a layer entry of my Flash file by moving around various elements within the layer. I sitll have the original file, too. I'd like to put it back exactly like it was in the original file. How do I replace the changed sprite element from the new file with the original from the old file?
For some reason I am unable to create a FLV file from a MP4 file with high bitrate. I even created a custom setting and specified bitrate as 2500 but the output file is always around 775.
i want to know how i can put a flash file inside a flash wbsite. i have found a tutorial [URL] that says something like that but in this tutorial if i understand correctly it creates a new flash project and add another swf inside. i have my website created and i just want to add video gallery, image gallery etc that are already swf. how i can do that?
When i save the file as an .swf file to view it in my browser the video gets really big (sized the flash document 250x240 px) . How can i easily control my flash video sizes?
another thing: When im doing a video and work with things that are outside of my white document (in the gray area) for instance things that are to be faded into the document and so on. These things also show up in outside of my video when i view it in my browser.
I have been working on a project for a week and suddenly it crashed during save (nothing strange had been imported or anything i just saved after moving content around) and now i cant open my file again. I contacted adobe support who claim that since the problem is related to the file this is not their problem, what a load of HORSE ****, who should i contact about this dell if its an FLA FILE!? I have already renamed the file to flash.zip then opened with WinRar and repaired as a new zip file to a different folder (which removes the corrupt content which is document something.xml) then i tried renaming this folder back to flash.fla however the file still does not open.
I have a flash file using xml to link to html pages all within SharePoint. When I click on a link from inside flash, it opens up a new browser window with the html content. Is there a way to open the html content in the same browser that the flash file is in?
I'm trying to find out if it's possible to use a .ICO file instead of a .PNG or .JPEG file in my Flash project. Is this even possible? The reason I'm asking is that the project I'm putting together uses ActionScript 2.0 code (not sure if that makes a difference or not) and displays a bunch of images for a bunch of different applications. So instead of creating a .PNG file for each application, since I've already got .ICO files on hand, I'd rather use those (saving me a ton of time).
I have a task to upgrade a web site. I have a map of ND with some cities on it. I needed to add a new city to the SWF which did not seem to be hard (asuming I did it correct). The action on all the buttons for each city look like this except the name after the # is the city selected.
on (release){ getURL("locations_info.html#minot", "location_content");} In HTML code snip that controls this looked like this : <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
trying to work out why Flash is publishing an unexpected swz file with one recent project. From what I can tell this is an optional run-time library used to reduce file size. My problem is that it is causing all sorts of text formatting grief when I try to import my swf into Adobe Captivate. how I can publish a swf without generating a swz? Why on earth has Flash opted to generate this unexpected file in the first place (assuming user error, but can't work out what I've done)?
