I changed a layer entry of my Flash file by moving around various elements within the layer. I sitll have the original file, too. I'd like to put it back exactly like it was in the original file. How do I replace the changed sprite element from the new file with the original from the old file?

View 2 RepliesI have been trawling around forums for hours now and the only was to save information LOCALLY in Flash seems to be using the SharedObject stuff. which is fine. BUT I am making a project which is meant to be entirely run from a memory stick i.e. portable. So, I was thinking it would be good to save the information from the flash to a SharedObject .sol file and then to copy the .sol file to the memory stick, then load the information back into the flash file from the copy of the .sol file on the memory stick!
Dont know if this is possible, but I need to some how save information created in the flash file stored on a memory stick (which will be text and possibly an image which would be loaded from the users pc) to a file on the memory stick and then next time the flash file is run, load all of the information back in!
I know all this stuff is possibly using PHP etc. but as I am running it from a memory stick on a pc which probable wont have internet access.

View 2 RepliesI'm having an odd problem that I can't seem to resolve. I'm updating some old animations (created around 2004-2005). Most have gone without a hitch, however one file has been a problem.
First the specs: Windows 7 64bit, Master Collection CS5.5. All updated.
The problem with the file:
I can open it just fine, test the movie, etc. If I try to save the document, it fails, saying "Unable to save the document as...". I can save the file as a CS4 document, which seems to work OK. However, I need to move the contents into a new document. If I try to Copy the laters, Flash immediately crashes.
How can I copy multiple frames from one file to another and paste in place? For some reason when I do this flash pastes them to the left of where they need to be even though the stages are the same size.
View 5 RepliesI am a Flash novice and ran into a problem when my Flash generated html file opens in Safari (I'm designing on a Mac) but would not open on a recipient's computer - a PC using IE. I'm using CS5 and set up the file for actionscript 2.0. I know one needs to be sensitive to the various browsers being used, but how does one go about that and how can I begin to troubleshoot my current problem? I didn't use any special coding...I don't know action script yet.

(1) If the embed swf requests a local image file , will Flash allow the request?
(
2) If the embed swf requests an image file on a non local url other than one of the swf file, will Flash check a crossdomain.xml file on the url?
I want to copy a .swf file I have and paste it into another one, frames and all. I have tried but nothing gets copied over correctly. Either that or my buttons are on a single frame.. and no longer act like a button with the -Over-Up-Down-Hit frames.

I have been using code snippets to link the different frames. I have created an animation that I would like to play when the user gets to the conclusion (I will use the 'click to go to frame and play' code snippet) but how can I turn the animation file into a single frame or object but still function as a animation. View 1 RepliesI have a swf page that I would like to convert to a png file. Before I convert the file, I would like to zoom in to the swf file so that I have a larger image. I try swftools to convert, but the png image quality is not good enough: Zoomed-in png image looks too blurry.
I should do to capture/use a zoomed-in version of a swf file. A linux compatible command line tool would be great as I am thinking of converting hundreds of images.

I'm using Flash CS4,i'm having problems creating a xml file to work with the action script for a 3D carousel. I've created folder for image png file and icons xml using a normal notepad in windows for file to work with the flash action script 2.0, but in output menu the msg says Error opening URL 'file:///C|/Users/User/Documents/caroselFile/icons.xml'.They're no compiler errors. Should the notepad be xml editor? I have been told i can use a normal notepad.Maybe i should of saved it in the fla directry but don't know where it is.

I have created a booklet in InDesign cs4 that includes page turn transitions. I have saved it as a SWF file and it works perfectly on my PC with the ability to sweep through the page turns. My issue is now, what type of file can I export the SWF file to so that I can view it on an iPad and am still able to have the page curls?

I created SharedObject using AS2.0 it's working fine.... my question is can it possible to store the variable values in an .txt file where the flash file is saved... basically the SharedObject will store the vallues in localdrive with file extention. not only using SharedObject if any other way to store the vaules in .txt file will be helpfull for me... my requirement is to store the the position of the swf file and when the time it reopen, it should start from previous position.

View 1 Repliesiv been having this problem with swf file iv created, it consist of images somewhat like a gallery. when played offline it works smoothly, navigating frame to frame / image by image. iv used AS3 to compose the animations in my flash file. now my problem is when its uploaded online, the swf is shown but once iv clicked on a link to proceed on showing the gallery it lags and continously loop when it should actualy stop on a frame and wait till the next button is clicked to procced to the next image. plus the animation iv added in doesn't seem to working at all.

View 1 RepliesI have been working on a project for a week and suddenly it crashed during save (nothing strange had been imported or anything i just saved after moving content around) and now i cant open my file again. I contacted adobe support who claim that since the problem is related to the file this is not their problem, what a load of HORSE ****, who should i contact about this dell if its an FLA FILE!? I have already renamed the file to flash.zip then opened with WinRar and repaired as a new zip file to a different folder (which removes the corrupt content which is document something.xml) then i tried renaming this folder back to flash.fla however the file still does not open.

View 23 RepliesI'm trying to find out if it's possible to use a .ICO file instead of a .PNG or .JPEG file in my Flash project. Is this even possible? The reason I'm asking is that the project I'm putting together uses ActionScript 2.0 code (not sure if that makes a difference or not) and displays a bunch of images for a bunch of different applications. So instead of creating a .PNG file for each application, since I've already got .ICO files on hand, I'd rather use those (saving me a ton of time).
View 4 Repliestrying to work out why Flash is publishing an unexpected swz file with one recent project. From what I can tell this is an optional run-time library used to reduce file size. My problem is that it is causing all sorts of text formatting grief when I try to import my swf into Adobe Captivate. how I can publish a swf without generating a swz? Why on earth has Flash opted to generate this unexpected file in the first place (assuming user error, but can't work out what I've done)?
