ActionScript 3.0 :: Reverse Y-Axis Movement On Preloader
Feb 24, 2011
I am having trouble getting my preloader to fill from bottom-to-top instead of top-to-bottom. I moved my registration points to the bottom left on the symbol like suggested in a previous thread and it didn't help.[code]
What I'm trying to do is something of a jumping character in a platform game. My problem is that no matter where I place the character, it's jumping to a certain height on the stage, rather than to a height relative to the movie clip's original position. As if I'm telling it to jump to a global y coordinate, when what I really want it to do is move it "n amount" in the y direction. Here's what I have so far, this is the code I placed on the movie clip itself.
I'm working on a website and I have a movieclip that I want to move, but it would be easier to have actionscript control the movement. I need it to slide up along the y-axis for a certain amount of pixels and then stop, preferably even being able to set how long it'll take to go from point a to point b. does anyone know the script for this?
I have an object that is being moved along it's x axis a certain amount each time an button is pressed. I want to be able to restrict the movement of that object along it's x axis so that it can not go past a certain point.
skyline movie clip to move randomly along it's x axis whenever a mouse event happens.I can get it to ease in on a mouse event.The only code I've come across that seems to point me in the right direction is easingvar skyline:Tween=new Tween(skyline_mc,"x", Regular.easeInOut, 100,107,3,true);How do I get it to easeinout again to a random position on the x axis?.
well i've read the random movement tutorial but now i only want things to move randomly horizontelly; on the x axis. I'm pretty sure this is possible since most things are with flash so would anyone know what AS would be used? i've treid the one here: [URL] and deleting stuff that i think is not relevant. But i keep getting more and more erros each time i try to fix something...so anyone know what the AS would be? thx
So I have a Sprite and if using startDrag(), how do I constrain the movement to x-axis only? that is, move it horizontally? The free x,y movement code sample is here, directly from Adobe's livedocs: [URL]
i have 2 buttons and one large image. this image has about 10 product images inside of the clip.here is the idea...i want to click on the move left or move right button, clicking on the button will move the MC containing the Product Images to the left or right.the thing i am not getting is normally when i move stuff on the X-axis i have more than one button and attach the actions to each button. but i only have two buttons now. one for left and one for right. now i am confused.
I've mastered the way of image panning on an x asis for menus and so forth, but I am trying to get it working with an x and y asis. I mean like the main navigation in this example [URL].
I have a round arrow on stage (like half of a circle) and I want to make it turn left when mouse moves right and vice versa. How to accumulate this turning thing ?

I'm trying to make a MC rotate on it's axis (registration point)...I want it to rotate both clockwise and counter-clockwise at random speeds and random degrees of rotation. For example...CW fast 90 degrees...then CCW slower for 150 degrees...then CW really fast for 270 degrees...etc..etc..
I guys i am trying to make Movie clip movement to infinite loop to x axis.It should move like left to right on loop, without any jurk.i used this code. this is working fine to move left, but i am not getting how should i make it move on looop.
way to make a preloader begin at 10, and countdown to 0? - kinda like the oldschool reels in film would do. here's the code I'm using that displays loading beginning at 0, and ending at 10. Essentially I just want to reverse this.
So I have this mc: this.slidingMenu it's a mc of a ring shaped menu, which turn around when 2 button get clicked. When the button on the right, mc goes forward until stop(), when the button on the left mc goes reverse until the stop(). In the first case i use gotoanplay, and everything goes fine. For the second I use prevFrame, like this:
I am trying to construct coordinates with distance in meters on the x-axis and time in seconds on the y-axis, without using the timeline. How can I draw the divisions on the x-axis and y-axis ? Or I better draw the whole thing.
var my_shape:Shape = new Shape();addChild(my_shape); my_shape.graphics.lineStyle(3, 0xFF0000, 1);my_shape.graphics.moveTo(50,50);my_shape.graphics.lineTo(50, 300);my_shape.graphics.lineTo(500, 300);
I've put together this simple code for an SWF with three roll over images (called: Training, Resources and Contact).When I roll over Training I would like the symbol Training_txt to tween its alpha to 1 (from 0) and tween its y axis to 220 (from 83).When I roll out of Training I would like to run the two tweens in reverse.
This works fine for each of the three roll over images, so long as each tween is allowed to fully execute before a new tween is started. The problem arises if i quickly move the mouse curser between the three roll over images before the previous tweens have finished executing.In this instance, the tweened objects start to behave erratically. They usually return to their original position as per the roll_out tween but then start jumping between y axis 200 and y axis 83 (without tweening - they just appear).
I'm making a chart where the x-axis needs to have dates and y-axis names. The lenght of the bar is longer when the date is later. But I want to stack multiple bars on eachother. for example This is the code I have so far
I've been playing with carousel code, and was wondering how to change it from circular animation (carousel) to left/right linear (conveyer belt) style animation, how to change the mover code and 't.angle = i * ((Math.PI*2)/numOfItems);'
I have a mc (fStrip) which looks like a piece of filmstrip with thumbnail images in it. I want this mc to move when the users mouse is positioned over it, but I only want it to move only along it's x-axis and in a direction opposite that of the mouse. And I want it to move or flow smoothly.
I've been trying to figure this out (see my lame attempt below) but without much luck.
onClipEvent (mouseMove) { buffer=20 //movement buffer mousePos=_root.fStrip._xmouse //store mouse position if (mymouse!=_root.fStrip._xmouse){ //if the mouse has moved
I wish to get the effect of ants scuttering across the screen or up a tree, I have not decided which direction yet. I started with the tutorial code for the snow effect from kirupa, and changed it around to fit the little vector ant I created. The way I have it now looks pretty good, but the movement is a little too fluid. They obviously move in sinusoidal paths bc the code tells them to. I have about 20 copies of the main obj, and they're all a little different in size and specs (speed, transparency, etc) but what I was wondering was if there is any way I can change the code to make it a little more hectic, or erratic, not so fluid. If there is no way of doing so, it looks pretty good right now. If there is, however, I think it could look awesome. here's the code I'm using for the object.
I have a Mogli (Junglebook-like) Character that i got to move with the arrow keys on the keyboard.
I want the character to jump (so for example , he must while moving to the right of the "gamearea" , you must be able to hit a key (say for example the "control" key ) and then the character must jump ( go up ) and as soon as the key is released he must obviously come down.
And also how do one set movement speed on any particular movement.
how to make text acting as a preloader so that its color changes as preloader percentage. i dont mean how to apply the math, i mean how to mask it or whatever action to achieve that effect?
like for example imagine the red is constantly growing to the right letter by letter (actually pixel by pixel:
I just started working on a preloader screen that includes a preloader mask over a logo and a percentage dynamic text. I can get either or to work but not both at the same time. I notice that if I remove stop(); I can get the percentage to work but not the preloader image. With the stop(); embedded the image preloader works but the percentage doesn't.
