ActionScript 3.0 :: Scaling Intro Texts Using Tween Class
Sep 1, 2010
I want my intro texts to get scaled to a certain position when clicked. So far this is what I have done,
Code:
var scaleTo:Number = 0.6;
var introTexts:Array = [...];
for(var i:int = 0;i<introTexts.length;i++){
introTexts[i].addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onintroClick);
} function onintroClick(evt:MouseEvent):void {
[Code] .....
Right now,this code doesn't do anything, I can trace out "click" but nothing happen. I tried out the first item from the array first to make sure the code is working. The x position I want is -15 and y is 300. I just test out something, the code is working when I move it out from the function.
It was supposed to be an easy code but i can't make it work until now.I want my intro texts to get scaled to a certain postion when clicked .So far this is what I have done,

Since no one is able to answer my question in this thread, I like to ask a simpler question. How do I create a tween that will slide my texts from left to the middle and then pause for 3 seconds then continue to slide off stage to the right?
slideXTween = new Tween(txtField, "x", Regular.easeOut, postXFrom, postXTo, 1, true);
The above code is what I have so far for sliding texts from left to the middle. However, I couldn't figure out how to pause for 3 seconds and then continue to the right and eventually off the stage.
saw various tutorials where dynamic fields had a motion teen effect. However If I tryto do the same, once I apply the motion tween the dynamic text becomes Graphic. How can I avoid this?
I have utilized the Tween/AS Preloader from this site and it works great! The problem is that when I test it online it keeps playing the intro and outro animation even if the movie is loaded into the browsers cache. It doesn't show the progress bar or the percentage (which is good) because it is already loaded, but it keeps showing the intro and outro animations (which is annoying). How would I keep the preloader from doing this?
I'm currently using the Tween-class to tween my movieclips (just the basics as x-position, etc.). But I'm struggling to tween scaleX and scaleY as the tween does not seem to take care of the centerpoint of the movieclip. I want the movieclip to scale proportional and not just from left to right.
This is a ridiculously easy problem but I'm drawing a mental blank at how to do it so in advance I apologize for the simplicity. I'm trying to get a movie clip to rotate and scale automatically without being clicked. I would like it to gradually rotate by 90 degrees and scale by 150%, but I can't figure out how to get a motion tween to do it and am having to do it manually frame by frame. What is the code to do this?
starting a new AS 3 website and (dont hit me) i must admit this is the first AS 3 site i am doing - it's going rather well but i do have a question. I woudl like to create a class that will draw a simple box outline based on dimensions i pass it. But i want the actual drawing of the box to be tweened. So the lines would start out as 1px lines and then tween to be say 100 px wide by 100px high. I have played around with several tweens on both boxes and lines and nothing has worked to my satisfaction. Problem is the lines get fatter as the width scales out. I am thinking that perhaps the only way to do this is to actually draw lines with line to in some loop on onEnterFrame but have not succeeded. So if anyone has an example of this please do share it.
Now I am using the Tween Class to move some boxes in my movie, now I can move the first mc and then another mc after the first tween has finished with onMotionFinished but I was hoping someone could help with how do I start the second tween when the first mc has passed a certain _x coordinate. ie starting the second mc moving while the first tween is still moving.
If i have a clip with a bunch of stuff inside it (on layers) like other clips, bitmaps, etc. and perform a tween on that clip (via tween class), the stuff inside the clip seems to alpha at different rates.
For instance, i have a clip with an empty movieclip which loads a bitmap image and on top of the bitmap image, i have a gradient feathered edge (.png) bitmap and on top of that I have some dynamic text (embedded fonts).
The bitmap is supposed to create a feathered edge on the photo but since they alpha at different rates, you always see the hard edge of the photo...
is there a solution like cacheAsBitmap which would let the whole clip alpha at once? If it's cacheAsBitmap, i must be using it incorrectly, b/c it's not working!
Am trying to use the Tween class to scale and move a movieclip. Now the movieclip is within the loader, so I need the motion to be controlled by the percentage loaded. Now the code to move the movieclip to its final position is:
var xscaletween:Tween = new Tween(mstone, "_xscale", Regular.easeOut, mstone._xscale, 220, 6, true);
But this is the final location, I want to be able to change the properties of xscaletween, yscaletween, xmovetween and ymovetween as per percentage loaded.As in, within this final boundary limit of the tween, I want, for example, xscaletween, to scale only till 140 till percentage hits 50. Is this possible?? If not is there a workaround?Or do I have to use new tweens within each percentage limit?
I am trying to understand the thinking behind motion tweening using AS3 (rather than doing it on the timeline).I am trying to create a simple platform game, and while this is simply a learning project, I have an movieclip instance on the stage, and using basic x+5 logic I can get the instance to move left and right on the stage accordingly.Trying to make the instance 'jump' is a bit trickier. This is the code I am using:
I thought this code would move the instance from it's current y-position and tween it to it's highest jump point. From here I planned to use a MOTION.FINISH event to tell it to tween back to it's original position.Something strage happens though, rather than tween from the current y position and move up, the instance instantly transforms it's position to y+100 and then tween back to the original position. So it kind of turns out that it is the second part of the jumping action that I want to create.
If I have an FLV that I've output as SWF with skin to have embedded into an HTML page, and now a 'skip intro' is needed - though I'd have to make note of the actual time or keyframe in which the intro completes...How is this possible? Clearly, a button would need to be added for that kind of interactivity?
I have a movie clip that I imported into flash, used a skin and have a nice little player for this website intro. I want to proceed to the sites home page upon completion of the movie. Searched but the best I could come up with was;
Is there any way to make a movie clip start at a given x and y point, and ends at another x and y point, in 90 seconds?m not getting a good result.The main problem is, I want the movie clip to travel along a straight line. And by this code below the "b" movie clips makes some curves.Heres what Ive done.
"p" is point movie clip "b" is ball movie clip fullTime = 90000;_currentTime = fullTime;oldTime = undefined;onEnterFrame = function () {if
What I want to do is tween a number from lets say 0 to 50 using the Tween class. The below is an example of my tween but it wasn't working (*NOTE* i'm using TweenExtended but if you change the tween to Tween only it will be the same thing, i just have a habit of using the TweenExtended class):
I have a "master" SWF file into which I load content (other SWFs) via the Loader Class (with code below). var contentLoader:Loader = new Loader();this.contentContainer.addChild(contentLoader);I load the content (these other SWFs) into a MovieClip container on the stage called "contentContainer". The "contentContainer" is much smaller than the "master" SWFs stage and also much smaller than the original size of the SWFs that the Loader is loading in. Also, and this is very important, the "contentContainer" itself is sized -- not scaled -- (see code) and placed on the stage depending on how large the stage is scaled (I am trying to make one of those "liquid stage" flash sites that fills the browser window with flash content regardless of window size).//this resides in a function that is called whenever the stage RESIZE Event is fired
i've been running into weird problems regarding Senocular's Layout Class. It's a nice little framework to align and scale objects in a fluid layout, though.Some images in the background (currentContainer) don't resize all the way to fit stage's height, and sometimes they get really small in a corner.[code]each time the currentContainer mc gets a different bitmap images (with varying dimensions) on it, it gets assigned to bgLayout , whis is added to the stageLayout.actually, do I need to do that ? Or maybe I should remove bgLayout from stageLayout before assigning it again?[code]
I'm trying to add zoom functionality to Lex Talkington's great Panning Class HTML Code: [URL] and have run into the following issue: I cannot seem to get the image to scale without also scaling the container _rectangle. Here's my code
im using the tween class within a class and having trouble getting the .onMotionFinished of the tween to recognize or relate back to the scope of the class.so if i had
Code: var t1:Tween = new Tween(myClip, "_alpha", None.easeNone, 0, 100, 1, true); t1.onMotionFinished=function()
I'm building some navigation that extends all the way from left to right across my SWF. When the window resizes, I'd like the nav buttons to get wider but not have the text on the buttons get wider.
The buttons themselves are rectangles with a vertical gradient and a stroke around the outside. I'm using 9-slice scaling so the stroke doesn't scale, but the middle (gradient) gets wider or narrower.What'd be great is to be able to select an object or layer and say "don't scale, even if the rest of this movie clip scales". Is there a way to do that, or will I have to do it via actionscript?
i have a diagonal movieclip that I am trying to scale along with the background video. The background video scales perfect, I am attaching the diagonal movieclip (br in the code as bottomright) with addChild Instead of scaling with the window, it seems to repeat such as the image is displaying. this is the main section of the code that is doing the scaling
var br:mc_bottomright = new mc_bottomright(); addChild(br); //proportional scale if ((stage.stageWidth / stage.stageHeight)> (owidth/oheight))
I am trying to achieve an effect of scaling a movie clip on click...very similar to [URL] When the user clicks on See, Hear, Play and Shop boxes, the boxes expand. I have created a box movieclip that has a bar on top. This bar is a movie clip inside the box movieclip. When i try to scale the main box movieclip, the internal bar movie clip scales as well. How to stop this?
I have a movie clip that is rotated when a button is clicked:
Quote:
mc_rightBtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onRotateRight); function onRotateRight(evt:MouseEvent):void { var myTweenRotation:Tween = new Tween(mc_gallery, "rotation", Elastic.easeOut, 0, 90, 5, true); }
The problem I have is that when the the right button (mc_rightBtn) is clicked again, the rotation starts from the original position. Ideally I would like the rotation to continue from its current position.
I've started using the Tween class as I find it to be a really quick way to create some smooth animations. However, what I would like to do is have a sequence of many different objects animating into the scene, but all using the Tween class.Now if they were all to animate in at the same time that would be fine - but what I would like to achieve is each object to animate in one at a time, so once 1 object has finished, the next one then animates in etc etc over until all 7 are animated in. I've read up a little on using continueTo etc but not sure how to get this to affect different mc's instead of self.
