ActionScript 3.0 :: Stream AAC Audio File Stored Locally Using NetStream Class?

I would like use NetStream class to stream AAC audio file stored locally on server (because i can't use Sound class, AAC not compatible) How can i do this ? (without flash media server)
I have tried using http protocol, no errors occured, but i receive no audio data.

In Flex you can stream microphone audio to an FMS/Red5 server using NetStream.attachAudio, which requires a Microphone object. Is it possible to stream audio through the NetStream from somewhere other than a Microphone? For example, from a file/embedded resource?
The reason I'm asking is that I'd like to be able to run automated tests that don't require using an actual microphone.

Is it possible to host a class file separate from everything else on a website where it can be edited when needed? For example, I'm thinking that in the Linkage section of the movieclip you would put the path to the location of the as file on the website, so [URL] <--well I guess without the ".as".

I'm trying to force the Flash player to play video files without showing screens. I did try to set vidDisplay.visible to false. But it seemed not working at all.I was doing was try to build a generic media player. Whatever the source is(audio or video), the control panel always the same, namely, a mp3 player panel is always displayed:However, when I stream in a video file, it would end up overriding mp3 panel with a partial video screen. I've had FMS running on my local machine for a while and have had a little experience writing FMS apps, but I've just tried recording audio for the first time using the standard vod application and I keep getting a "Write access denied for stream" error. My AS3 code is copied and pasted for various examples and am confident that it works.
I'm running Windows XP service pack 3 & FMIS 3.5.
I've had a look at the vod/media directory and under windows->properties the read-only attribute is ticked. Every time I un-tick this it reverts back to being ticked. I've googled this and MS say that most programs ignore the read-only attribute and that it only really applied to files. I've also tried the MS fix for setting the read-only attribute via cmd and still no joy (doesn't fix read-only attribute or FMS recording the audio after setting via cmd).
I've also tried our dev server install of FMS (running under linux) and am getting the same results.

I am having trouble getting audio stream meta data from an Akamai FMS stream. Everything is undefined and I'm not sure why. I am hoping maybe someone will notice something that I am overlooking. The stream is connecting and playing without a problem I just can't seem to figure out why all the meta data is undefined.

Because the player optimizes framerate, antialiasing etc dependent on the performance capabilities of the platform upon which it is running, it was nearly impossible to ensure animation syncronization w/ audio. If the audio were on the timeline you could set sync params to stream, but if the audio is loaded programically forget it .. well until AS3 ..The following code throttles the player framerate to lock step the animation to the audio .. not perfect but the principal works ..

Let me first establish what I want to do:My user is able to record voicenotes on my website, add tags to said notes for indexing as well as a title. When the note is saved I save the path of the note along with the other info in my DB.Now, I have 2 choices to do the recording, both involve a .swf embedded in my site:
1) I could use Red5 server to stream the audio to my server and save the file and return the path to said file to my app to do the DB saving, seems rather complicated since I would have to convert the audio and move it to the appropriate folder that belongs to the user in a server side Red5 app, which I'm not very aware of how to build.
2) I could simply record the audio and grab its byte array, do a Base64 encoding on it and send it to PHP along with the rest of the data that is necessary (be it by a simple POST or an AJAX call), decode it on the server and make the file with the appropriate extension, audio conversion would also occur here using ffmpeg, this option seems simpler but I do not know how viable it is.

I am trying to figure out how to make a flash Application which can allow users to Record Audio from their Microphone. The recording needs to then be uploaded to a web server.I think the best way to do it would be to store the .flv or .mp3 file locally, and then submit the file to the server after the recording is completed.I have read in some places that this is impossible to do, however websites such as livevideo.com allow this too be done with Video as well, so I think Audio should be simple if it can be done with video.

I use VideoDisplay to display the webcam. how can I fetch and play audio in real time ? Is there a way to save the video locally without using a flash media server?

I have a publisher who publishes a netstream using stratus p2p. This is then connected to by player who subscribes to the netstream.
I believe one can reject the subscriber when the stream tries to connect by using the onPeerConnect method of the netstream's client. However, I would like to boot the subscriber after they have been connected.
There are potentially other subscribers to that netstream so I cannot just close it. How would I boot a particular subscriber without closing the published netstream?

I have a FMS and it works perfekt. What I try to build is a simple "player" for a website where I can listen to the livestream from my FMS. To connect to my stream works fine. But now i want to build a animated volume amplitude. It works with an mp3 who is on my FMS but not with the livestream. I think I found the problem why it does not work but not the solution.

I made a doc class and a sound class. the sound class purpose is that if ever add sound i can just recycle easily the code to use and via the doc class just load it intot he correct frame. Issue: I made the sound class and it loads correctly for the first frame... But i want to add ANOTHER audio file, how would i alter my code setup so i can load the new audio file but instead on frame 1 always... i want to be able to load the audio file in frame 3 or 5 or 25.... How do i do that with the code i have setup??

I have been working on a voice-chat system in AS 2.0 using FMS 3.5 for a while now. I have been experiencing a lot of latency. Usually there's no latency to begin with but it grows over time to several seconds. Up until this point, I have assumed that this latency is due to a slow server/low bandwidth since I have tinkered around with all of the buffer settings (that I know about) already.However, today I decided to see what would happen if I just attached the audio of the microphone to _root. In other words, the script does not connect to FMS and there's no streaming going on at all. All I have is essentially:
myMic = Microphone.get();
_root.attachAudio(myMic);
However, even in this case I get a delay! In fact the same sort of thing happens: there's no delay to begin with, but it grows to approximately 1.5 seconds over time (very quickly in fact). In order to track down where it could be coming from, I decided to add a microphone activity clip that showed the activity of the mic. Perhaps not so surprisingly this activity clip was perfectly in sync with the actual activity of the mic (i.e. no delay). So it seems like there's a delay due to the attachAudio command.

I am developing a C++ program to connect FMS via RTMP, and then publish a live stream I can't use FMLE here because I need collect the H.264 NALU from somewhere and forward them to the FMS.I write a demo app, which parses H.264 encoded FLV file, and send the VideoTag in the FLV as RTMP Message content for publishing.Finally, I make it run and I can see some frames of video!But the problem is: The video does not play smoothly and it just updates some frames.
Then I looked at the NetStream event and found that:Everytime when there is a NetStream.Buffer.Full event, the frame in the video is updated and display correctly But immediately there is another NetStream.Buffer.Empty event followed and the video is frozen.

NetStream.play(streamName, -1); This seems to be working wrong.if I have recorded an flv on server using FMS and FMLE with only audio with name "myaudio" and then after if I try to play a live stream using NetStream.play("myaudio", -1) then it plays the recorded stream. I believe that documentation says that it should start a live stream instead of playing recorded stream as the second argument is -1. Is this a bug in NetStream.play method?

how to get flv's to load up dynamically using xml - it all works well apart from this one problem that i have.
when the thumbnail for the flv is clicked the preloader appears and the flv starts to load - but for some reason the audio begins to play almost immediately - then when the flv actually loads then the audio plays again whilst the initial (unwanted) audio carries on playing!

I'm streaming audio using NetConnection and NetStream. I know that you can modify sample data in real-time with the Sound object, however I cannot find the SampleDataEvent for audio playing with the NetStream object. Is there a way to pass the audio from the NetStream object to a Sound object and modify the sound at that object instead?
