Aug 30, 2011So I'm working on a very simple animation with some large text areas and have noticed something rather irritating. I'm hoping that someone can tell me why this is happening, and also hopefully a way around it.
When I view the .swf, I'm noticing that text that fits perfectly in the text areas in the .fla is being pushed down passed the edge of the text area. So when the movie exports, something weird happens and the text gets cut off at the bottom. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem, and does anyone know of a way to fix it?

2. picture_box appear second

If the swf "loads"/"simulate load" then the text shows up, but not in the correct font.This is the error when the swf is not preloaded:VerifyError: Error #1014: Class flashx.textLayoutcontainer::Container Controller could not be found.at flash.display::MovieClip/nextFrame()at spot_fla::MainTimeline/l()I've also recently added an AS3(CS5) preloader which is when this started. The library mc items have been set to export in frame 2 but the font doesn't show up. The font has been embedded as well but linking/unlinking it does nothing. The AS3 preloader is a simple script that a lot of tutorials online use.The textfield is located in frame 2 of the timeline and is not referenced in AS. However it is inside of a mc that has a mouse listener on it(mc).

Mar 28, 2012I am creating dynamic TextFields in actionscript 3.0. Like many others, my text disappears when I set .embedFonts = true; ArialSlim is embedded and exported for actionscript. I have successfully tested with trace(Font.enumerateFonts()); Interestingly enough, when I comment out the embed line (as shown below), the font works properly. Alternatively, .setTextFormat(); also works properly without the .embedFonts line.

My Text Mask Doesn't Preview Properly
Mar 14, 2009I'm relatively new to Flash, and I�m in the process of creating a flash intro to my website. The problem is, whenever I preview one of my Mask layers by pressing Ctrl+Enter, the mask effect doesn�t work � it merely shows the masking object. The puzzling thing for me, which leads me to suggest that the mask should work is that in the normal timeline view, when I lock both the mask and masked layers and press Enter or slide through the frames � the effect works perfectly. On Ctrl+Enter all of my other Masks work fine as well - the one in question has text as the mask content.
It only stops working when I view it as an .swf file or play the movie with Ctrl+Enter. Does anyone know why this is happening, how I can get around it, or whether it will be a problem when published?

Text Field : Commas And Emdash Not Showing Up Properly?
Jun 19, 2009I'm using as2 to place a text field with embedded fonts, whose content is coming in from xml inside of a cdata tag.When I publish the movie, all is well.When I upload the movie online, the commas in the text field appear backwards and the emdash is missing.The fonts otherwise appear to be embedded properly - it's displaying with the fonts I intended it to.Not sure why just these characters are changing online, but appear properly in the flash environment when I publish the movie?
