ActionScript 3.0 :: Using Frames On Calendar Page (RemoveChild)?

I am using frames, I have a page called calendar and on this page I have boxes which I am scaling with tweener. There was an overlap problem with the mouse over and I found some posts that said to add a child. This worked great, for the calendar page. Now the children stay on all the pages, when I use simply removeChild(my_mc); or whatever on the other pages it gives me an error about null children and something.

I would like to know if there is a way to create a calendar page on my site that will display the free Google Calendar? I have embedded code in a Myspace site before and it worked well, but have no experience with the IFrame code that Google Calendar uses. fyi- I just bought Flash a month ago and have been editing a template that I purchased to be my new website.
I had an assessment i need to finish as my test for flash developer vacancy...i need to create a function that convert date Gregorian calendar to Hijri calendar in flashis that possible?I've search through google, but still doesnt find anything useful yet.
I have to set up an list of events in sort of a calendar format. I'm trying to figure out how I should bring in the data.The data will be stored in a mySQL database. Should I just bring it straight into flash with PHP, or should I use PHP to convert it to XML and then bring it to flash?
how do transitions from page to page and from frame to frame all in on site, and i'm lost in the codes this is an exemple that i did in attachment, i want to be able to click in the different buttons bur a lot of thinks do not work. In the portfolio section i create a move clip that works well alone, bur when i integrate it with the home intro it didn't work properly. Hope that someone will be able to help me on that one, cause i think that this will help me a lot to understnad the basic transitions with buttons (frame to frame and page to page).
I'm trying to build a conditional statement that will addChild and removeChild at different Timer Delays. Before I go any further, I thought, I should mention that I'm usinig TweenMax to ease the alpha of ease Child from 1 to 0 and back during the process to imitate a fade-in/out.
I'm getting issue with only one line - inside a conditional statement.It's running "OK". The movie runs as I want it, but the remove/addChild transitions are not at the speed I want it at. I am getting an error message in the output, but other than that, the movie runs fine.
I have two flash movies.One has an embedded video.I sped up that movie to 36 fps to make it run quicker.It plays fine.I downloaded a FLA that is a flame effect.It has a 30 fps rate.When I incorporated the flame effect into the movie with the embedded video, it made that movie play at 12 fps.Must be something in the AS?So I decided to make two separate movies and include both on the page.But when I do that, the same thing happens.The 36 fps movie plays at 12 fps.
i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

I added a website preloader in a separate scene to the main frame of my website and scripted it to go to and Play the main scene or frame of the website when finished loading. I then put a command in the first frame of the main scene for the movie to stop (); at that point. The problem is that now the buttons on the main page don't respond to any behaviour commands to go to and stop at other frames in the main scene. I'm not sure if this is a conflict between the stop(); command in the main scene and the button behaviour command to go to and stop at another frame or an error with the way I'm identifying the scene and frame.
how to make 2 things or insert 2 things into the flash website i am making. I want to get a calendar and a forum of some kind in my site. How could i achieve this? I would like the calendar to have notes or events in it.
I'm looking to perform to use the Calendar Component? Basically, I have scoured the web (with my poor search skills) and haven't found a tutorial for that component using php in the way I need. I want to learn the basics of it to modify, not just get a plug-in.
I want to create a preloader that plays a certain amount of frames as it loads the rest of the frames. So, I have labels on the frames basically and need a preloader to play the "loading" frames as it is loading the "content" frames. Does that make sense? I have no idea how to even start this one... p.s. I am using AS 2.0, but if it can be done in 3.0 easier, I can switch over its no biggie
there seems to be no accepted method of playing multiple flv using buttons. My latest attempt has me putting multiple instances of the flvPlayback component in different frames and using buttons to navigate to those frames. It works but nothing anyone has posted anywhere will result in removing the flv when you go to a different frame and instance. This was simple in AS2. Load movie to a traget and each time you load a new movie the other one goes away. REALLY goes away.
basically im making a quiz on my main timeline ive got my questions and answers and on the last frame i want it to say how many answers the user got right. ive made a movie clip on this last frame. in the movie clip ive got 11 frames with the posible totals so frame one would be 0/10 frame 2 would be 1/10 etc what i want to do is when the user clicks the correct answer on the other frames i want flash to make the frames within the movie clip to go 1 step forward.

I am creating a calendar and would like to be able to hover mouse over an event and it say text. The calander is saved as a PDF so it is only a picture.
I use a jquery calendar and a flash in the same page.. What happens is my jquery calendar is overlapped by my flash... Any suggestion to make it display above flash...Look at the image and see my calendar Fr,sat are invisible because of flash...

I have been fighting with this for nearly a month, (My wife is tired of hearing about it) and have been avoiding putting the question onto this forum because it feels like it's just within my reach. But obviously it isn't.
I have the code set up to dynamically build this calendar. It works for the month we're in but attempting to go to the previous or next month does not work. Sometimes next month works actually.
Ok I just checked it and it really only worked for October and now it is incorrect for November. The problem is determining the first and last days (i.e. Sunday, Monday, etc...) of the month.[code]...

I have this xml calendar component I downloaded form flash components. It works great but I would like to change two things and can't figure out how/where.
1. It displays the first event/menu item from the xml file into the current date.
2. If you click on a date that doesn't have an associated event it doesn't clear the text box.
Whatever was last in there stays in there.The component is on frame 4 of the calendar fla on the left hand side. The xml load AS is on the first frame.
Anyone know a good tut on how to implement the JMEvents calendar component? It comes with MX04 but I am unable to find a tut at the moment (although as I type I am looking and trying to work through it). It can be either an xml, db, or hard coded example. Just need a little push.
I frequent a few other forms on various web related stuff, but just started to really get into flash. I have a calendar I've been working on, I get it to auto create the days and months based off the system date. Now what I'd like to do is have my AS Highlight the current day so it stands out...
I've been looking over the code, trying to figure out how to get it, but I keep getting stuck. I know Flash has a built in "Date" and I've been trying if statements to get it to == my AS Datestamp, but I have to be doing it wrong.

It's not working and I'm not sure why. I could easily be going about it ALL wrong. I suspect that it being an onClipEvent is an error. Can't I just getDate and setProperty?
I have attached the file. Once I understand how this works I can duplicate it for loading the correct month and year.
