I've got sprite on the stage, let's say it is a graphics of a car. I would like to let the user fill the car with the colors he inserted to xml file.So, if I have square or rect, I do the thing this way:[code]So in the symbol class(Car) I added a public function, which I use for the instance of the Car in the MainTimeLine(as DocumentClass)car.setGradient(fillColor1,fillColor2,fillColor3)but gradient applies to the rect, created with drawRoundRectComplex, which then is added to the car instance. View 1 RepliesI cant get a spotlight effect with gradientfill to work right i create an object that represents the gradient and then i tween it from small to huge... and draw a box the size of the screen and fill it and on each updateMovement I redraw the gradient with a alpha 0 center and a 255 edge...but it doesnt center right at all...no matter what i do. It always is off Center...(oh Im using Stage.width/height since it needs to be dynamically resized based on browser...)

i found i can get vertical dynamic text block by setting to vertical and then to dynamic. But, then it ends up being horizontal, and if inside a clip, only the letters over another item in clip show. Like veritcal text on a vertical bar gives only the 1 or 2 letters that fit across bar, rest truncated. i've tried embedding text to get this far, but still doesn't work 'all the way' i see online they talk about all scripting for dynamic, vertical text; is that necessary, or am i missing something??

Now at the moment all it does it shunt up/down once and then stops, but what i want it some constitant scrolling until the user removes there mouse from the scrollUp or scrollDown box.
I have about 27 photos. They are all 250x188. I would like the work space to be 250x564 so that 3 photos display first and they keep scrolling from the bottom to the top continuously through all the photos and repeat. View 5 RepliesI'm having trouble getting a vertical scrollbar to appear when the browser window is smaller than the content within the .swf file that is automatically embedded into the html template that Flex creates on a release build.
I fixed this issue with Firefox and Chrome by adding a style to the html template page that the .swf is embedded in.I've even changed the fixed height of my main .mxml file to 100%.IE is still not showing vertical scrollbars when the browser window size shrinks smaller than the content inside the .swf.

As the TreeItemRenderer contains a list with tileLayout, which means the height of every row is variable. So I have to set the tree's "variableRowHeight to true. When I was testing the tree, everything went well. But when I was using the vertical scroller, I met some problems:
The scroll bar did not move to the position I want. When I was scrolling the content, the scroll bar sometimes scrolled to a unwanted position (e.g. the head of the tree). When there are more rows, the problem is more obvious.When I was scrolling the tree, the images were flicking all the time.
I would like to have vertical tabs in Flex 4. I have started implementing this by having a vertical list down one side. On list selection I am updating the selection index of a view stack. This gives the functionality of vertical tabs.
