ActionScript 3.0 :: Add Tags To A Xml File Through A Flash App?
Jul 28, 2010
Was just how to add tags to an xml file through a flash app. I basically want to build a flash application with a save button at the end. So when you click save, the new data is added to my xml file.
I know how to load an xml file...
What I'm most concerned about are the line breaks in the xml file. Because I don't want everything to be written in one line.
when the embedFonts is removed, it works perfectly as expect. Otherwise when an image is clicked, it selects the whole text around it. Alternatively can anyone suggest a method to style dynamic textfields instead of using html?
I have been trying to figure out how you could add in custom attribute tags that flash can recover.
EX:
Except, that I would like to add a Custom tag, like "randNum" so that the tag user could input some number, or rather, a flash movie could generate a tag with a number already put in...Basically, heres a really basic version of the idea. There is a Flash Movie. In the movie, you can input text into a textfield.Upon finishing your message, you click a button "save".
The flash movie then:
1. Comes up with a random number unique to the message.
2. Assigns that number to a variable... "randNum".
3. Saves message as a xml file to the server as "filename" + randNum.
4. Outputs into a textfield a generated HTML tag that a user can post on myspace and such so that it will load in the flash movie.
Except... in the tag, there will be a custom attribute. If the random number variable "randNum" was 00112233, the custom attribute will be 00112233.
So when the movie opens, it retrieves that randNum from the tag and can use it inside flash. How can this be done? Sorry this post was so long, but I wanted everyone to understand the concept.
Yeah, to some extent it's poor design. But the idea I'm going for is that any Event has the potential to compromise of other Events and this idea kinda loops. How to do this?
I made a scrollbar in action script §3 all from scratch and loaded an external text file edited in text Wrangler to display in the field, and sudden all my HTMl tags are not responding though added htmText to it. Well, the only tag responding is the link tag, the rest no, like bold, or italic or colors.
I dont know if anyone has hit the wall with this. I am trying to dynamically load a HTML page into a textfield and I want to use , but it does not work.Everything else seems to be loaded on the page but the image. No Errors nothing but no image neither
I'm trying to load text from an xml file with some html tags in it but its not working.
When I add
I get the error
Code: TypeError: Error #1095: XML parser failure: Unterminated attribute. at ProfileSammy/::xmlLoaded() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/flash.events:EventDispatcher::dispatchEventFunction() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent() at flash.net::URLLoader/flash.net:URLLoader::onComplete()
first, I need to show an
tag after the description, its an rss widget so need to seperate with each rss post with a border or hr. Its not possible to make it manually because its came from xml. I'll give you the existing script with me.
second, I need to add utm tag after the urls to trace the clicks, this is actually I need to add after the links 'utm_source=rsswidget', you'll get an idea by seeing the script below
var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); loader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onLoaded); var xml:XML; function onLoaded(e:Event):void
First, I'm having issues with loading ID3 tags. I can load the tags of the file currently playing, but how could you load the tags for a playlist that is selectable? The MP3 player runs on an XML file that holds the URLs to the MP3 files themselves. All other information is extracted from the ID3 tags. Do you have to load all of the MP3 files to get at their tags? Or can you JUST load the tags themselves? Will it slow down your stream? Etc...how best to build a playlist from ID3 tags.
Second, I'm having issues with the playlist buttons themselves. I need to build dynamic-text buttons that, upon clicking, will play that file. The play-on-click functionality I can do...but I can't seem to make them "clickable."
I'm importing an XML document into a flash movie. The XML is using HTML tags so that I can highlight certain words and use HTML links in the text field the data is being loaded into.
But the issue I'm having is that all of the < and > tags and all information within it being displayed within the text field.
The text field's html property is true. The text field's multiline property is true. In the XML document, the text that I'm having load into this text field is separated by the CDATA tag so that it doesn't get parsed out.
I just can't figure it out. Before I used the CDATA tag, I put all the necessary < and > tags in place, and I'm getting the same results.
I don't know why everything is being displayed even though I'm rendering this text as HTML.
I have XML written using PHP taken from a database, which flash then uses to print out iinto a flash file dynamic text box. It all works fine as required, apart from not rendering html tags properly within the textfield, such as
and . Below is my php, wrapped in the CDATA tags:
[Code]......
the textfield (mytext) is obviously within movie clip - theMovie - movies. As i mentioned the text is getting printed out fine from the database, but it ends up being just one block of text without formatting, and the tags that should be html are being taken and written literally.
Is there anything glaringly obvious that I'm not including to make sure that
tags and tags etc. are rendered correctly, rather than just writing them out as "
" in the textfield?
I have made a .swf file that scrolls boxes- these boxes willin the end contain products contained in a ASP database. Here isthe problem, I don't know how to get the Flash movie I have made toSince I don't know flash that well, I have made transparentbuttons to go over the scrolling boxes to open a URL with theaction scripting -----on (release) {getURL("http://www.myurl"); } This works finebut I would like the content in the scrolling boxes to changedepending upon items in an ASP database. In the database, there isan area to specify "featured" items, which are dynamically put onthe site in specified areas where tags(anchors) for the "featured"items are placed. What I think I should do is code the tag(anchor) for the"featured" item into my flash movie but I don't know how to dothis.
I am loading some content into a Flash Text Area component via an XML file, within the XML I am formating via HTML, problem is flash only seems to recognize some tags and not others. For example it has no problem with the
,
,
tags, but refuses to recognize any image or anchor/link tags. here a sample of my XML
Above is my xml file which has no ending tag for the from tag, which gives an error.I need actionscript code to check if there is a broken tag and then fix it automatically.
It seems htmlText is rearranging the html tags. Even though the output is the same, I need the original html back since I am making a text editor and the AFTER htmlText is messing up my tag calculations.
these are basically input fields, but for some reason they are passing all the html tag assigned to the flash textfields. (used to style the flash components) is there a quick way to kill that with either php or flash??
I'm experiencing problems with HTML tags within textfields (multiline textfields). HTML rendering is activated. Fonts are embedded for bold and regular Verdana. In AS3 I also have declared the field as html (instancename.htmlText = "tekst".Now I have all my html code in a sql database which load through php. The whole text loads including the bold, underlined and italic htmltext make up.The problem is that the text on line 1 shows as:"8: you must click ok" (8: you must click ok
)But the text on line 2 shows as:" : submitting" (9: thanks for submitting
)I have checked the html tags over and over and there is no fault in that.
// Edit: The issue now appears to be confined to Safari for Windows.
Around the time Safari for Windows 4 came out I started hearing from users that wmode=transparent was no longer working in Safari.I have tried reducing interference by using tags as opposed to scripts to embed the Flash but with no success. An example is here: [url]... alternately embedded with script at http://hiv411.org/
All videos use wmode=transparent and are embedded via tags. All work fine in every browser I have except Safari.Code looks like so on safari.php
I dunno if any of you are familliar with Lightbox at all? I'd like to be able to call this from Flash. It works well in an "" tag in HTML.As an example: where I can use a rel and title tag to call the necessary scripts. Is there any way of including rel and title tags in flash along with the regular link?
I have spend my whole day trying to find a good way to access ID3 tags in AS3.0;In my project I am making a sound object and assigning it a URL: Then I stream the sound into a sound channel:[code]I want to read the ID3 tag somehow and display the artist name or anything in the ID3 tag, onto the screen.I Have the URL change through user input, and naturally I want to update all the information with the new ID3 tags information.[code]
I am trying to convert our all-flash website to HTML 5.But since so many users still use IE and other browsers that do not support HTML 5 yet,I am looking for some flash media players that can replace and . My google skill does not yield good results. The flash media player should dispatch events specified at https:[url]..._audio_and_video_in_FireFox (or at least talk to javascript some how for those events).Do you know a flash media player that can easily be embedded inside or and talks to javascript for events?
I'm importing text in from an xml file and i'm using htmlText to try to keep some styling with tags. I have both the regular and bold face font embedded, and the bolding works fine. The problem is that it ads spaces around the words in bold like a paragraph indent and then makes a line-break after them. What's going on, is there a way to fix?
fromxmlText.htmlText = theXML.contenttext;
If I pull the text in from a txt file it will work fine, but taking it out of an xml file causing funky formatting.
I usually manage to make my textFields work properly.I have this TextField that I inject HTML formatted text (contained in a XML file). For some reason, almost all my tags are ignored (,,,
and
). I can only get it to render
tags properly. I could use a StyleSheet, but I don't think it would make my lists work...Here's how things are set up:
Text I inject:
<text> Some bold text and some normal text
This text is underlined normal text to compare
This text is italic[code].........
Edit: So I decided to test having no CDATA in my XML, and adding the tag in my AS3 code. Didn't work either. I don't get how I can have my fonts correctly embed, but Flash refusing to use them.
I'd like to be able to call this from Flash. It works well in an "" tag in HTML.As an example: where I can use a rel and title tag to call the necessary scripts. Is there any way of including rel and title tags in flash along with the regular link?
