ActionScript 3.0 :: Any Event Dispatched In HTMLLoader Class When Any Of The Input Text Field Is Being Selected Inside The HTML?
Jul 19, 2010
is there any event dispatched in HTMLLoader class when any of the input text field is being selected inside the HTML? If yes how to track not onlyt the Event but the input field also?
I want to do my stuff on LocationChangeEvent.LOCATION_CHANGE event which is introduced in AIR 2.7 but this event is not getting dispatched.My sample code is below. Please help me know if there is anything wrong that I am doing.
I have created a form consisting of several input text fields. My question is whether there's script to evaluate which text field is currently selected.
I have a form and I need the first Input Text Box to be automatically selected when the user goes to the page. I got this code and put it in but I am still have problems Use this in the frame that holds the textbox: Selection.setFocus("textboxname"); The name has to be in quotes.
When I put that code in and tested the movie it worked great but once I put it into an html page it doesnt work anymore. The text in the input box is still selected but it isnt on focus so the user still has to click in the text box to input the text. Is there a way around this?
we have load this html file using HTMLLoader inside an swf file.
_htmlLoader = new HTMLLoader(); _htmlLoader.paintsDefaultBackground = false; var req:URLRequest = new URLRequest(urlValue); _htmlLoader.load(req); _stage.addChild(_htmlLoader);
After loading this Swf file using Loader inside main application, text boxes are readonly and can't type in it. But we can change focus of them using Mouse.
var loader1:Loader = new Loader(); loader1.load(new URLRequest("path to file.swf")); // ... this.addChild(loader1); // ...
What's the best way to restrict the user from entering html entities in a text input box.I want to allow then to enter stuff like dollar signs, pound signs and spaces but anything such as
ActionScript Code: <> & ' / "
should be disallowed.Can I use the textfield restrict property or is that too complicated? Should I just parse what the user has entered them strip it out after?
I have an input field in which I am sending the text out of flash and up to my server. I wanted to read the input field text then apply html tags around it. Unfortunately, my technique is not working correctly as it does not read the input field but it does change the format. I think I am escaping it incorrectly [code]...
I have an input text field beneath a video and I want to put some html code in the input text field so that a viewer can select that text and put the embed code on their site (similar to youtube). The problem is that I want the input text field to be a certain width and the length of the code snippet exceeds that length. Is there a way to do it so that the part of the code that goes past the length of what I want my input text field to be is cropped, but is still selectable by the user? I've seen this done with html form fields, but not flash.
how to make a label appear inside a input text field. As of now I am just using a static text field to the left of the input field, bt due to lack of space I would like the text field name to appear inside the actual input text field and when the user clicks to insert their text the title or label for that input field dissapears.
Is there a way to add an inner drop shadow using TweenLite? I'm trying to add it to an input text field that I've created. I don't want to have to load an image, but I think i might have to.
Can event listeners only be added to the class which dispatched the event? I ask because I want to have the logic for the listener on the main class, and the action is dispatched on click from a thumb which is instantiated in a scroller class. Kinda like this:
ActionScript Code: pseudo code: class main { main() {
[code]....
This doesn't work. Why can't the main class listen for an event on the thumb class?
Is it possible to ignore white space between characters inside a text input field let's say a user types in "bri an" instead of "brian. Is there a way that white space is ignore and treated it as one word?
I've done a class to be able to listen to the event for a CLASS not on an instance.
Code: class net.webbymx.events.XClassEventListener {[code]....
why did I do this.It cames with my rugby game.I have player in two teams. When a player throw the ball I want the other teammate to act like "wait for ball" and the opponent like "seek for ball". Plus I'm lazy (and I don't want to register the listener for each instance of the player I'm creating). So this class is made to be able to handle as many instance of a class I want without adding a listener on each of them. I'm just creating a global listener on the class and then I will be able to receive dispatched event for any instance of this class .so in my team I can do
I have a tree, which childs dispaching event, if i run the object outside TitleWindow - everything is working fine, but if i encapsulate it inside a TitleWindow as into the source below - the event is not anymore dispached system wide.
So I am making a small course in Flash CS5 that will take the users input from the course using Text Input boxes on the stage and create a PDF document with the information using PurePDF. I have the PDF documents all working the course all set and I can access the Text Input field text from the main timeline and store it in a variable but I can't access that variable from my document class in order to plug it into the PDF document. I did some searching and I found people saying to use MovieClip(root).myVar but it just comes up null when I trace it.
I have a simple serch textfield and want to be able to clear the text currently in the field once a user clicks on i. I've tried the below but its not working:
var changed = false; //search_txt.addListener(someListener); search_txt.onChanged= function(){
If I change the value of a variable that two different classes can see (in a custom global class, for instance), and then immediately dispatch an event that the other class is listening for, will tracing that variable in the listening class reflect the variable's new value? In other words, does code that executes in another class that's called from a dispatched event elsewhere still run procedurally, or is there some sort of asynchronous thing going on, where the class that dispatched continues on to the next line of code in its own class without regard for what may or may not happen in the other class?
Is it possible to login through flash using one Dynamic Text Field and one Input Text Field and no buttons? If so how? I have seen many tutorials dealing with logging in to PHP using flash but it requires you to make your own php scripts which i am not familiar with. Can some one tell me how to do this with PHPBBs existing php scripts... I want to be able to login thorugh a Input Text Field box and have it verify it in PHP and also be able to register and view other PHP info such as users online and FAQ..
I'm making a calculator using Flash MX that works the same way as the basic calculator found on windows (not the scientific one). But having the user input a number, store it as a variable, store which function the user wants to perform and clear the text field then store the new input in the same text field as a different variable and multiply or add or divide or subtract the 2 numbers and getting the equals sign to display the answer when clicked is harder than I thought it would be.
Using AS3 to create a basic number guessing game but for some reason the input text field won't accept text input. I can't figure out which piece of code is causing the problem and it's driving me nuts considering it's from a tutorial.
What I'm trying to do is to write something in an input field and then it should show up in a dinamic field. I can make this happen, but the problem is that the dinamic field shows its new text in the same format as the Input field. For example, the input text is written in TimesNewRoman and the dinamic text is in Arial, but when the dinamic text shows the input, the text is still in TimesNewRoman when I want it to be in Arial.
I have a combo box and I am using the 'selectedIndex' property to give it a default value (a value that is at the first(0) index). Setting this property in my ActionScript does select the value in the dropdown but it does not add the selected value to the combo box's text area. How do you do this? I make has no affect on the text area.
Here is a sample of my code. The combo box list is populated fine. And the value is selected IN THE LIST. However, once you select a value in the list the combo box's list closes and nothing resides in the combo box's text field.
comboBoxData.insert(0, {data:1, label:"Show me something specific"}); for (i in animations) { comboBoxData.push({data: i.uri ,label: "somevalue"});
How can I type something in my input text field without clicking on the field first? Basically I just have one input text field on the stage and when I Test Movie I would like to just type in some text without clicking on the field...
I'm trying to extend the text input that comes in flex to support an icon, just like mac os x search text input has a grey circle aligned to the right, the text input has a addChild method, but it didn't work for me.
I have the following situation:I have an event handler, that displays small messages in my application's statusbar.These messages get passes through by dispatching events from custom components.A simple message could be like "HTTP Error" or so.Now, the main event listener, in the main application file, listens to the event dispatched by any custom component,but seems to refuse listening to events dispatched by custom AS classes.Here is my code for the custom event:
