I need to send some text that has been entered in a Flash banner to a form field on a web page. Basically the user types into the text field on the Flash Banner and when they click the send button, it opens up the web page with the text already entered in the appropriate text filed there. I'm assuming I need to use LoadVars and I have some HTML code that does what I want but I need to work out how to convert it to ActionScript.

The problem is that when a customer tries to use the form and clicks into one of the text fields it jumps back out! the funy thing is it only seems to happen after they have been to and viewed my gallery page which is xml ? I also changed the input fields from a component to a regular input field.

I would like to make an input text field in flash as2. What I need is when the user write down an answer it will direct him to an html page I created. There are 3 answers and 3 pages, so they will write down one of the answer and when they will click "enter" they will be redirected. I understand you can do it with "if" statement but I don't know how!

I have an input field in which I am sending the text out of flash and up to my server. I wanted to read the input field text then apply html tags around it. Unfortunately, my technique is not working correctly as it does not read the input field but it does change the format. I think I am escaping it incorrectly [code]...

The problem is that I want the input text field to be a certain width and the length of the code snippet exceeds that length. Is there a way to do it so that the part of the code that goes past the length of what I want my input text field to be is cropped, but is still selectable by the user? I've seen this done with html form fields, but not flash.

Is there a way to pass the textfield A text to a dynamic text input (flash) as I'd like to use the font embedding flash offers. I can make it work when loading a value from a txt file but I'm not sure how to access the value identified above as KitGroupID_16_TextOption_38 and make it appear in a dynamic input box. Eventually I might want to have 3 font choices for the user but I'd like to just see if I can get this working properly first.
I created a funky mail form and i can't seem to send the info from the input boxes in my flash file... to the PHP script, stuff it into an email, and then send back a success or error response. But having the user input a number, store it as a variable, store which function the user wants to perform and clear the text field then store the new input in the same text field as a different variable and multiply or add or divide or subtract the 2 numbers and getting the equals sign to display the answer when clicked is harder than I thought it would be.

What I'm trying to do is to write something in an input field and then it should show up in a dinamic field. I can make this happen, but the problem is that the dinamic field shows its new text in the same format as the Input field. For example, the input text is written in TimesNewRoman and the dinamic text is in Arial, but when the dinamic text shows the input, the text is still in TimesNewRoman when I want it to be in Arial.

View 3 RepliesI have built a simple Flash application that will be presented using a projector, the application will show messages in the form of questions that will come from a simple flat-file text file or XML file.
In addition to this I would also like to be able to add my own messages using a simple HTML form.
I've been looking around the web for some resources, but have been struggling to find what I am looking for. The basic idea is that the flash application will loop through these different messages from the XML, but then when a user types in a message that will also appear within these messages. Think of it as a sort of dynamic tag cloud.
I currently have a Flash app that gets populated by parsing data from an external XML file. However, I need to get the XML data into a (JSP) session and can't neccesarily have an external XML file--any suggestions? Can I put the XML string into a hidden input field in a form on the HTML? Can Flash communicate with that HTML? Or are one of the below methods recommended:

* Flash Remoting
* Web services
* JavaScript - call JS function
* fscommand
* ExternalInterface
I am working with the web template located at the following URL: [URL] If you look you will see the "Contacts" page has a form with text (i.e. "Name", "Phone", "E-Mail", etc.) that vanishes when each text box is clicked. After editing the contact information above the form the effect was lost somehow.
