I am attempting to use the isight camera but when I trace the cam.height and cam.width i get 160 x 120 when it should be 640x480. Why is this happening?

I have a stream going through flash media server and its working. I have a simple flash app that is viewing the stream.I need to pull the height and width of the broadcasted cam in the client. I have been trying with getting metadata buteverything always If there is no metadata with cams if I could create stuff on the streaming app that would be nice.I tried to pass some but I cant figure out if it works or how to grab on the other side.this is what I tried to send it withvar metaData:Object = new Object(); metaData.title = "myStream"; metaData.width = 320; metaData.height = 240; cam_ns.send("@setDataFrame", "onMetaData", metaData);
View 3 RepliesI have a video display in my flex app. which is attached to the camera. The camera resolution can vary depending on the user's selection, While the video display (preview) dimensions are fixed. I am then doing this:
bmd.draw(vidDisplay);
Where bmd is the bitmap.. The problem is the resulting bitmap has the correct size of the camera settings (which is set) but the capture from the video is always the size of the video display inside the bitmap.. I hope i am making sense. The result looks like a little picture inside a bigger image top left justified. I want to have a video display preview with fixed height, but be able to take snapshot with varying resolution.
Under what circumstances would you not be able to trace a movie clip's width or height but be able to trace it's x & y? When I try to trace the mc.width or height it outputs 0 ???

View 1 RepliesI have an Apple iSight webcam and it's not working with Flash.I go into the Flash player settings and select my camera, I can see my image and camera working inside the little box in the Flash playser settings panel.But when I close the settings and "allow" the site to access my webcam it doesn't work.My camera just shuts off.It's been a while but my camera use to work with Flash, and my iSight camera works with other apps such as Skype.URL...
View 6 RepliesI am capturing camera on flex for android using air 3.1,and found that the camera is only showing the a part of of actual camera video.When i view camera using normal camera application in android galaxy tab, it shows full camera area but when i am capturing the camera in flex its showing only the center area for it.I tried using setMode to set the resolution, but its not of any use.Is there any way to get full camera area captured inside flex using camera.getCamera ?
View 1 RepliesFrom a Flash object, I would like to be able to detect the presence of a webcam that the user might grant access to, without actually asking the user whether they want to grant access. This is to streamline a large application that has extra features if a webcam exists — if there is a webcam, the application will present several dialogs that lead up to the normal cam-security prompt, but if the user doesn't have the hardware, I want to skip over them altogether. Requesting access to the cam before those dialogs won't make sense to the user.
It appears not to be possible to call Camera.getCamera() without the security prompt happening. Is there a workaround? (For instance, could I, perhaps, call getCamera in a hidden Flash object and inspect its return value, or does it block until the user acknowledges the security prompt?)
I have a video capture device on a machine. I have written a windows application to capture the video from this device. While capturing, if i try to broadcast using flash it does not connect. If i'm already broadcasting and then try to capture then my windows application does not get the capture pin of the device. So, flash seems to be taking the capture pin. Is there anyway to broadcast using the preview pin on the device so that i can capture using my application. Or is there way where i can split the capture pin and give one to my app and one to the broadcaster

I am able to trace that first element while trace is called within the function... but if I try to trace that first element outside of the function it is "undefined". Do I need to return the array at the end of the function? I tried that but I cant seem to get it working correctly.
I've been playing with prototype a bit and I've noticed that either it isn't as static as it should be or that some functions are protected from altering, or that in some cases the prototype actually extends a function. For example, I was trying to modifiy the global trace function to output the current time of a trace action, something like this :

ive got a loaded xml list for an mp3 player. from playing track1, when i select track 2, it traces "track1" but then after a second click it traces "track2" and stays on that. the actually music for track2 does load on the first click though, but not the trace. anyone know why on the first click it would still trace the previous track? here is the code for that function...

why does the last trace not trace "32" like the second trace? I want to insert the variable "imgGal" onto the end of the mc "itemClip", how can I do this?

I'm trying to achieve is this: when you roll over one of the citymarks on my map, it drops up/down depending on the mark and where it is with three buttons for tourist sites in the area. I am trying to get a .asp example file from an actionscripting book to work, but it keeps telling me that there is an error trying to open the .asp page on my server.I uploaded the .asp file, and the access file onto my server, but it is not communicating.Are there any browswer settings or web-hosting settings I should be aware of before I try to send and receive information from a database?Also, I eliminated one variable. In another document, I was able to pull information from a text file from my web server without any problems.

I have a weird problem. An Object is being passed to my function, and some parameters are optional, so naturally I would check to see if they are there, and if not, do nothing.However, I'm getting a null reference error (#1009) when I'm just checking it. Here's the sample:
