I have created a flash file that allows you to click on a thumbnail image and larger image appears ontop of a tshirt. The same way as a gallery would work. The images and thumbnails are pulled in through xml. However I have a problem, I need the images that appear on the tshirts to be .png files or gif files as the tshirt colour can be changed. At the moment my flash file will only display jpegs! I dont knwo why. The jpegs leave me with a white background, so I need the transparency of a png/gif. My actionscript is:
im loading multiple images but how do I make sure the program will start once all images have dispatched a complete event. like make a universal loader for all the other "small loaders" if you understand.

So far, so good! I now have a bunch of loaders each with a different name "img1","img2","img3" etc.
I have a group of 16 images that I would like to load 1 of each into each movieclip. I want image1 to be inside of visual1, image 2 inside of visual2, and so on. the images are named like, 1960s_(1).png where the 1960 (year) part is coming from the rangeNum variable. The above gives me this error: 1061: Call to a possibly undefined method addChild through a reference with static type int.
i have been building a library that has thumbnails which you click to view the full image. i have built the application it works but i want to change the way the image on the actual thumbnail loads using code instead of manually adding the value to the url loader component.

the loop runs fine without the last line of code which i've commented out.the make up of these thumbnails are a uiLoader component which are each inside there own movieClip.what i wanted this to do was every time the loop runs it currentLoad adds 1 to its value then that value is subbed into instanceN:String and thumbnailURL address that bit works the trace statements read correctly.but my issue is using the instanceN value as the instance name path which then loads the current thumbnailURL value which is the URL address for the thumbnail picture.when i try to load the url address using the commented out code above i got the error .TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties.the trace statements correct values below
the first value is the currentLoad value.
the second value is the instance name path.
the third is is the URL address for the thumbnail.[code].....
I have 50 images that need to be on stage, which will be embedded into 50 different movie clips. I named the movie clips image1-image50 and the images are in an external folder named 1-50. Every freaking article or tutorial I have found clearly explains how to upload one image, or just one at a time. I can do that, and spend 2 days renaming all the functions, but I do not want to do that. Is there a better way to just load all 50 images, place them accordingly?
I have 260 images that I need to place on different frame. Instead of dragging them one by one the image on the stage, is there a way to drop all of them in one shot but each images is on a different frame?
I have 24 movie clips on the stage: my_menu.image_holder_mc1 thru my_menu.image_holder_mc24. I want to load an image in each one. How do I identify the holder which to add a child.

As the title states, I need to know how to save multiple text files, from multiple text boxes on the screen. Each textbox has the instance name of t1, t2, t3... and so on. Here is the code I have now:
I have two flash files that I would like to play back to back in the same location on my site. I would like one to play, and then when it's done, I want the other to play in its location.
I googled around and read up on the loadmovie variable, which I thought that is what I needed, but it isn't working.
To start out, what I did was create a new flash file, then I inserted an image into the timeline on its own layer, converted it to a movie clip (named pic_mc), did a fadeout effect on that image, then I created a new layer, and on the frame directly after the image, I put the following:
I then ran a test (ctrl+enter) and all I see is the fade out image, and not the other flash movie. I even uploaded the .swf to my site and tested it there in a real world situation, and it didn't work. It just fades the image out and restarts the movie.
What is the best approach in AS3 when loading multiple XML files. I have 3 XML files I need to load. Should make separate XML loaders and functions for each XML file?
I need to protect images embedded in a swf file. I've noticed Swf Encrypt scrambles the images, like so:
How is something like this achieved ? How does image scrambling work ? I've noticed the image is stored a bitmap. Not sure how information is stored.I imagine it would be possible to use something like AS3SWF to access the content of a swf, but what would I need to change for the image swf tags ? I don't know much about security/obfuscation/encryption, so any tips will be handy. The programming language for this shouldn't matter much.
I am searching all over google for an easy way to resize images but the problem I am having is that .x does not work .width does not work ._width does not work. ._x does not work. How can I do something as easy as changing the width height of a picture? I am loading the photo into a movie clip using the Loader class

I want to have a TV screen and hundreds of (small) flash animations load up in the 'TV'. I'm assuming I'm going to have to use Actionscript, so I'm looking into that right now. However, what would be the best way to organise this? Each "TV" will have a different set of "Channels". Do I create each 'channel' and save them as seperate SWF files, or is it possible to have them all in one main file. I can then flick through each 'channel', which essentially unloads the current animation and loads the next one
i'm making a simple portfolio site, and bringing in a series of jpeg files using a 'for' loop and the Loader class. once all the files are loaded in, i'd like to just be able to add, remove, tween, etc... the items from the stage as need-be by using instance names, such as movie clips or Sprites. but for some reason, i cannot seem to figure out how to have each image, as its loaded in, be separately accessable to me after the loop has completed.
I have a series of animations of graphs etc in different flash files. Tried to put everything on the one timeline but was getting way too confusing so thought I would put each part in a separate flash file.
What I want to do is, once one file has come to an end load the next one up to play and so on. This is all part of a presentation so the user will click the keyboard to progress to the next file.

I'm writing a small game app in Flash, and I'm wondering what the benefits of having one giant SWF loading everything vs multiple webpages and multiple SWF's.
I need a component where user can click on browse button and select multiple files using ctrl key and upload them at once. Please note that it is dfferent from clicking add more files each time a file gets uploaded. Is it posible in flex?

I would like to know how can I use the "gameEngine" object in my "game.swf"?
Also, I have to code that runs on a "left-arrow" key-press in "menu.fla", but I also have some code running on a "left-arrow" key-press in "game.fla".
Once "game.swf" is loaded, and I press the "left-arrow" both the code from "menu.swf" and "game.swf" executes.. I only want the game.fla's "left-arrow" code to execute?
I also noticed that "game.swf" is basically layered over "menu.swf". Is there a more efficient way to load .swf files?
I'm still working on this project and it got literally huge... at least huge enough to consume all of my 3 GB RAM memory and crash my Adobe Flash CS4. Anyway, I decided to put the site on several swf's but the problem is that I've never done that before so I have no idea how to navigate between them.
Basically I have a main swf file, inside it there's an image (let's say its instance name is "projects_btn") that should take me to "Projects.swf", and I want to click on an "x" sign (its instance name is "xSign_btn") inside Projects.swf that would take me back to the main swf file "Bnaider2.swf".
Since there's (obviously) only one instance of SoundMixer in any given file, is it not possible to run computeSpectrum discreetly on different soundfiles loaded into an application? Basically I want to visualise each sound differently. Anyone come across any workarounds?
I'm creating a trivia game with two different categories. The player can choose one category, or the other, or both together. The way I have it is three different xml files (code below). Is there a way for the third option (both categories) to parse the first two xml files together so I don't need to create the third xml which is just a combination of the first two?[code]...
