-Fontname "verdana"
-size "14"
-style "Bold"
it is shown the correct font in BOLD if there is no value.It will not show the correct font properties am not getting the bold style :(

Apr 13, 2010I am trying to get the textfiled of the datagrid to be big enough to fit long names, i have tried lots of different things, from applying a cellrenderer and making the textfiled wider which worked in away because you can see all the text. and the column itself has a minwidth. But the box behind does not change. How do i get access to it to make it wider?

And then will text1 have the same text as "inputfield", but this dosen't seems to work only if you had a textfield called "textvariable" but that is not what I want. So any ideas how you can make this function?

Jul 27, 2011i have one input text Field in Login screen in which i want to set default focus. for this purpose i use stage.focus = textFiled, its working fine when i run swf into Flash IDE but when swf integrate with java (in Jar file format) on other word when i run java environment, default focus is not set on input textFiled. when i click on textField its working fine.

I have a java app, which includes a flex applet, on one tomcat instance and a java web service on another tomcat instance. Does it make sense to have a single (Apache httpd) proxy handle requests for both the app and the web service, thus eliminating the cross domain restriction?how to deal with the cross domain issue are welcome.

Professional :: Character Limit For Dynamic Text Box?
Jul 12, 2011Is there a character or word limit for the dynamic text box in Flash CS5? I am using Classic Text and am copying a large amount of text (about 4,700 words or 31,740 characers with spaces) into the text field, but the text is cut off at a certain point (at about 2,600 words or 17,795 characters). I'm using a UIScrollbar on the text box.The full text can be copied into Flash CS3 but not CS5 so what is going on? Did Adobe create a word limit in the new version? is there some other way around this, other than splitting up the text into 2 text fields? I should note that I cannot use TLF text for compatibility issues in case that is a possible solution.

I would like to set a minimum dimensions so the user cannot squeeze the website more than 600x420 for example. The page will then start to crop if you go beyond these dimensions.

Feb 17, 2011I'm working on an AS2 chat and I'd like to be able to place an emoticon at a specific location within a textbox. Is there a way of calculating a specific character's x & y position? I've even tried using textWidth and textHeight to calculate a specific location within the textbox, but the coordinates never really match. Keep in mind I have a multiline, wordwrap textbox with dynamic text in it. I've tried using monospace fonts and true type fonts, embedded and not, but the result is always very approximate, if not completely off.

May 4, 2009I've been making a game in ActionScript 2.0 Flash CS3. Now I want to be able to display my characters alpha using dynamic text. The instance name for the character is char and the Var for the dynamic text is alpha. I want to be able to display the characters alpha and ALSO the characters current alpha in other levels for example.
Variable for lives in level 1:
_root.lives = 5;
Variable for lives in level 2:
_root.currentlives = lives;
I want to be able to do the exact thing but display the 'char' alpha instead.

Aug 31, 2009Trough a button action I want to change the contents of a dynamic text field (i have five buttons in total). I made this textfield style bold, and added a (inner) shadow filter to it. Everytime a certain button gets clicked the content and colour of the textfield change. I want to retain the style and filter. However, while the colour change goes correct, the style and filter go back to regular..Through a coincidence i discovered that if I append the textfield in stead of replacing it entirely the transitions goes correctly.[code]In summary if i click the button with the append text action to it first, everything goes well..however when i click the buttons containing the replace text action first the style of the dynamic text field goes back to regular.

May 12, 2007We are quite familiar with action scripting but are facing an awkward situation. We need to call different instances of youTube Video into our own swf and play them. Now as youTube video is from a different domain, the Flash sandbox restrictions naturally come into play. We are loading the youTube swf into a clip using the MovieClipLoader Class.
If we remove the instance using the removeMovieClip() command the video is removed but the sound continues. We have even tried the MovieClipLoader unloadClip() method but that too did not yield results.
We wish to be able to kill the sound object or atleast mute it so that it does not play even after the movie clip containing the video is removed. As the swf belongs to a different domain we are unable to control the sound object directly through script. We have even tried loading another youTube instance into the same movie clip after first removing it using the removeMovieClip() command, then creating it again, and finally loading the youTube instance using the MovieClipLoader class, but the earlier sound still continues to play even while the second clip sound also plays.
Data Integration :: Can't Get ™ Character Loaded In Dynamic Text Field
Nov 10, 2006I need the use of the chars ™ and ® but only the latter appears. I'm using a loadVars object and an external .txt file which is loading with success, but where I need the phrase "Soo Bahk Do™ Moo Duk Kwan®," I only get "Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan®" Why doesn't "™" load?
Edit: I'd like to add that I have chosen to embed all uppercase,lowercase, and punctuation marks, and I additionally added ™ and ® to ensure they'd appear, but, the trademark logo still does not appear.

Oct 19, 2009Just to give you a little background, I am using CS4 and AS3, publishing to FP9. I am embedding fonts dynamically at runtime and there seems to be an issue with my dynamic 'html' text field when I have <b> tags within the CDATA.
In some cases, Flash seems to be rendering the bold text too close to the preceding character. Sometimes, even overlapping the preceding character. For the most part, this appears to be happening when the bold text appears at the end of the line before the text is wrapped.
I will note that, any text in the xml file wrapped in <b></b> tags is actually appearing bold, so I don't think it has anything to do with font embedding. In case it does, here is how I am embedding the font groups:
