trying to get larger images that fade in on the click or a Thumbnail image.
I have the following which works fine except for the fade in part. I tried adding a tween to fade in but cannot it to work

I have 2 buttons on the stage whose each MouseEvent load a different external swf when clicked. In an attempt to get the current swf to fade out and new swf to fade in on button click, I vainly added a Tween to the function but to no avail.
As it is now, when the movie starts, the button 1 swf fades in, however, when button 2 is clicked, the new swf is loaded but the old swf does not fade.

is it possible to modify this script to make images load like a fade in/fade out slideshow. It works with buttons to action the transition I want, but I want a similar script to play a simple slideshow with same transitions.

View 44 RepliesI am looking for script to load images from a folder to the stage and have the images fade in then fade out. As the first one fades out I want the second one to fade in. My students currently have done this in the timeline using tweening, however they have multiple images and this gets to be very long and tedious. If it is possible to have a script to say "go get image 1 out of folder and fade it in then get image 2 out of folder and as image one fades out image 2 fades in.
If this has to be accomplished by making movie clips out of the impages and have the script get them from the library that is fine also. However my students need the effect now. I am an instructor at a college and I like to be able to show the students how to do what their designs support.
I have 2 images that need to fade in and fade out so after 5 seconds image1 slowly begins to fade out while image2 slowly begins to fade in. My first image does not fade in because on the start of the flash movie I want to directly see the first image. But when image2 is done (so the whole movie is almost done) and it's start fading out.... I get to see the background (just a black empty background) while I actually want to begin fading in image1 (so looping the 2 image constantly).
So how can I immediately see an image on the start of the movie and still getting a fading in effect of the first image when the movie is almost on its end (so during the fading out of the last image)?
I followed Senocular's XML portfolio tutorial and everything is working fine, except I want for each thumbnail when you click, for it to open the larger pic in a javascript window. I got it working, almost, the strange thing it's opening the same large pic no matter which thumb I click on. It seems to be loading the same javascript window also, with the adress being the html file where the swf file is. The code in the html file is this:

Just starting to wrestle with flash again, and i am trying to make a very simple website. I have made a graphic that will appear as the intro / splash page, and i want this to fade in... then appear as normal. Then when you click, i want it to fade out and load the rest of the site (yet to be made!)I am having difficulty making the fade in / fade out actions does anyone know how to do this? as i have seen it on many websites.
View 15 RepliesI'm loading and displaying a large image say 6000 x 6000 px using an image tag. I wanted to take a snapshot of the image. But the maximum limit I get is 2880 px dimensions using Flex 4, flash player 10. Didn't the limit of FP 10 increased to 4096 px? Then why am I getting 2880? Is there a way to increase that size.
View 2 RepliesI have a xml gallery at the moment which loads in thumbnails and displays the larger images when clicked. What I am having trouble with is that some of the thumbnails have their own multiple images (more than 1 image for that thumbnail). I want to have a numbered menu 1,2,3,4 and when I click on the thumbnail depending how many sub photos there are for that one thumbnail I want to display an that image. And just to be dificult I also am displaying the larger images in another swf on the same page using local connection.

Now the first image loads fine and the loader sizes to file from XML. However, when users click second choice from Thumbail the loader doesnt resize to new image size. It only gets resized on the first selction or if users click the next or prev. buttons then the images fade correctly but nothing fades back in. Now if they do hit next or prev and then hit a thumbnail option it loads and resizes.
I have a sound that starts playing on the intro page of my site. At the end of the intro a button comes up that when clicked takes you to another page. I'm trying to figure out how to fade the sound out once the button is clicked. I've looked at other tutorials and just can't seem to get it working.

In the past I've put one line of text on one image, then another line of text on another image, but when I fade the images in they just cover up the prior one.

I totally get on the first layer converting image to movie, inserting key frame and motion tween, selecting clip and changing alphato 0%. Where I am absolutely lost - is when it comes the second, third, fourth and fifth image. An animated intro comes in on load (all done on the timeline) and on a frame named "home" it stops, this is when I want to run this piece of Actionscript. When a button is triggered here, the images are going to fade, and it goes to several full page menus (laid out on the timeline), when clicked again it goes back to "home".This is the closest I've gotten so far:
