I set the selected color with AS, see it changed on screen but then later when I try to get the selected color value it always returns 0.Im using Flash CS5.To recreate the issue make a fla with a color picker on stage with the instance name line_color. Oct 25, 2009I am having two panels with separate colorpickers in them. If i select a particular color in the colorpicker, then the border of that panel should change to that color. I am able to do this perfectly but, since i have written the same code for both colorpickers, when i select the other colorpicker the previous panel color is coming to the normal color i.e. default panel color.
If i want the panels to retain the color even after selecting the other colorpicker what should i do... I am using event.CHANGE on colorpicker and setting the style of borderColor for the panel.

If I choose to replace items, the ComboBox works but ColorPicker starts producing errors, if I choose to use the existing items, the ComboBox doesn't work.

Oct 18, 2011I have a flex application that dynamically loads swfs and I want to to use a set of color pickers in an external component within the application to determine a color array in the loaded swf.
I figured that I can use a new array of the colorPickers, i.e.

Is it possible for the swf to read the Array if it's set up like that? If so what would I put into the swf to get it? If not what do I need to do?

Dec 11, 2009I would like to store a hex colorPicker value in a variable and then cast the value of the var backout to a textInput. The textInput is just to see witch hexcolor i have choosen.
thus meaning seeing 0x000000 in the textInput.
what i've done now is pretty simple i have bound the flex colorPicker directly to my textInput. but i want to store the value from the colorPicker in a var first and than spit it backout to the textInput to see the value that i have picked.
When i pick a color value that begins with the number 0 it drops the 0's at the beginning of the number and only spits out the numbers greater than 0. (000033 becomes 33, FF0000 stays FF0000). I want to catch the whole value or write some kind a function to figure out how many 0's got dropped and concatenate it together with 0x. Store that all into a var and bind it to the flex TextInput.

have an "over" and "out" states but at the same time have another frame that is used to have an "active" state when clicked. The problem is the following: since there is a rollOut state defined, when clicked the mc jumps to the active state (frame) but returns to the out state when cursor moved out of it of course...so...how do you have a button with, over, out and active states?

Aug 24, 2010when I first start working with flash CS4, I saw a parameter on the properties that's called Document Class. I did some research on the net and found mostly tutorials on how to add a Document Class to a project, with a few comments on that the Document Class is: it acts like a "main()" block of a program, means the code is performed once the project is playing.
On one of the pages I saw a sentence that made my jaw drop... they said that using the Document Class you can avoid writing code on the time line and actually centering all the code on of the project at the Document Class. how can this be?? can you control of the code at any frame, how?, the Document Class is a class not a block of flow of code.

I have knowledge with HTML and CSS and have used Flash to create simple web banners, etc., but I want to get into more advanced Flash design and use Actionscript. I have looked through books but they all seem to require some knowledge of programming already. What is the best way for someone who has no programming experience to begin to learn Actionscript? Is there a specific book someone can recommend, or training course or a person who does 1-on-1 training?
