ActionScript 3.0 :: How To Target Links And Thumbnails

So I'm working on this "Links" page on my site, and I've run into some trouble that I haven't been able to get past for a few weeks (due to lack of time working on it!). I want the page function to be such that when you mouseover a link a thumbnail will show up in the box to the right, like in the picture. When the mouse then moves outside the link the thumbnail should fade out again. This I thought was supposed to be a simple task
I am using AS3, Flash CS5 and I have loaded the link texts and thumbnails from an XML file. In order to get the hand cursor when hovering over the links I put them inside a sprite, which causes the same problem I am having with the thumbnails, which is this;

I wrote a bit of actionscript to dynamically create an image gallery based on how many images are in a given directory. As of now, I've got it to display thumbnails in rows. My next step would be to get these thumbnails to link to the fullsize images.

So as of right now, I have a rough-looking set of thumbnails that don't function as links. is there any way to make those thumbnails act as links, using only actionscript? or, is there any better(easier) way to create a dynamic image gallery with flash so that my client will never have to open an .fla file to add more images?

I'm working on a SWF that is a banner on a home page and the is opening links a new window despite my attaching the "_self" argument to the navigateToURL command.Like here is a snippet of code TO ME it looks right:

I've stumbled across a very interesting tutorialBut, I've noticed a little detail. When you click on the big image of the finished example on the first page of tutorial, it acts like a link. When I have downloaded finished .fla source, links are nicely written in the images.xml file, but the links in the .fla file don't work.

I used the tutorial "Adding Thumbnails" to build a fotoshow. Adding another xml-file I have the problem,that I cannot reload(?) the thumbnails correctly.[code]Then I do not see any thumbnails,if(!) the new thumbnail list contains fewer elements than the old one and if the old thumbnail list was scrolled over the hit_right field before.It is seemingly necessary to reset the internal state of the movieclip. But how can I accompish that?

I've got a website with three links to three different thumbnail galleries. When I click the link to a gallery that has a lesser number of thumbnails, it fills the difference in numbers in with thumbnails from the previous gallery.

i created a flash slideshow with pictures of events and link each picture with its own event (ie. each pictures has its own links to the website). I created the fade in and fade out effect using the class motion tween. With the link, I created a layer with a button that has alpha= 0 (so the user don't see it) and then I used code snippet to make another layer with the action script "click to go to url."
When the slideshow goes to the last picture I made it fade out and the first picture of the slideshow would show up and then the slideshow would replay itself (by default?). My goal is to make a continuous slideshow.
When I tested the swf file, the first time it runs, everything is right. The urls and the pictures are in correct order. However when the slideshow replays itself automatically, I notice that the links are incorrect. In the first play, when I click the picture of the event it would open the url of that event.However when the sldieshow replays, clicking the pictures would only open the url of the first event picture. When I click on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.pictures the browser opens only the link of the first picture of the slideshow.

I've got a PHP script that searches for links in a block of text and converts them to HTML values. The $message variable is then entered into my database using a simple INSERT. So far, so good. Then I have Flash parse the message using XML:

The problem, however, is that my links don't work. The rollover works from the CSS styling, but the links don't actually go anywhere. When I rollover the links, the hand cursor doesn't appear, and clicking only serves to change the color back to the non-hover value.

I'm writing some code in Flash MX 2004 and everything works fine except for the last button (4DSystemsProducts).According to the coding if none of the drop down buttons work it should go to products.php, but for some reason it goes to 4DSystemsProducts.php. All of the other menus are coded the same way and work fine, if I take out that button it works fine,or if I take out button 7 and switch 4DSystems to button 7 everything works.Here is the code to clear up this explanation. qi have a movieclip which is added to the stage:

inside of profileholder is another movieclip(infoBtn) that acts as a button.when the mouse is over profileholder i want to do something with infoBtn like:

this doesn't work and brings up this error:ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property infoBtn not found on flash.display.Loader and there is no default value.

I am trying to have multiple links off site but have hit a brick wall. If I have the code listed below, it opens the second link as soon as you open the links page, If I have the"function onLinkClick (evt)", above btn6_btn I end up with the duplicate error message. Is there a way to have multiple link buttons on a page. I have played with this for hours.

I am very much new to the photography game and even newer to building a website, for which I have been staring at my computer for hours upon end. So in the end I decided to spend a few bucks and splash out on a template from [url]... but now I am struggling with the small thumbnails on the main page. I was wondering how can I change them so that I can either have thumbnails of some form of significance rather than some randomness. You will see what I mean when you get to the website. (Its still a work in progress if that!!)

I have a movieclip with a scroll pane. also a mc which i named a class with a 'delete' button and an image holder inside it. (linked as chosen_thumb_mc)For some reason, the thumbnails are not loading? I cant find out why because it says the code is correct.... Can anyone see what is wrong with my code?

I have downloaded a dynamic gallery from flashkit. I have tried to modify but cant. What i need to do is to get the thumbnails to appear 3 in a row, then the next one i loaded in a row under. When say 2 rows are loaded the scroller appears. In the gallery alla pics are loaded in one row. This shouldnt be a problem for you actionscipters

I'm trying to get some thumbnails to appear depending on where I pause in a video. It works fine when I do not use rtmp - but I get a 2132 error when I try and do the same over rtmp.
I've read up a bit and it seems that I need to allow video sample access. So I tried the following code, but had no luck:

I am trying to create an image gallery similar to Androids "Gallery" where it is a horizontal scrolling list of images. I am doing this with an HBox and Bitmap objects wrapped in a UIComponent. The problem is I am trying to do this for mobile and having many full size images open in memory causes problems. I have been trying to have the images load right as they are scrolling into view and unload once they are out of view, but the loading/unloading while scrolling requires too much cpu and causes a very choppy and poor UI. What I am looking to do is be able to load several low quality versions of the images in memory so I dont have to do as much loading/unloading. I have tried decreasing the height/width but it dosnt seem to have an effect on memory usage.
