ActionScript 3.0 :: Linking To External .html File On Computer?
Apr 28, 2009
I'm making a site right now. First there is an intro and then when one clicks on a button (for choosing your language), a new page should open (.html page made in dreamweaver) in the same window, but I don't know how to do this.
This is my actionscript now (but it doens't work):
I have solved my remote linking from an external html, to specific swf frame problem. But now, as usual another problem has reared its ugly head. I have a button(s) with a spotlight animation effect in the "over state". It works fine on the "home" page, smooth and clean, but when you link to a frame in the timeline, once in that frame the spotlight effect stills shows up when mouseover, but becomes erratic and very jittery.[URL].. Once there, if you click on about, events, or news, and load any of those pages/frames, you should see the spotlight flicker on mouseover on all buttons
I'm having trouble linking buttons from a swf banner that will be on all html pages. I'm using the following script, which doesn't work yet.For now, I have only two buttons. Button btn_1 should go to page_1.html, which is in a folder labeled pages.I've tried the variable name and the navigate to URL and neither have worked.
--- AS3 btn_0.mouseEnabled=false;// setting the first button -home - invisible btn_0.alpha=0.2; // sets the color of the button 20% alpha
My class is using AS3 and they built a Flash Intro for their web site. However, we are not able to link the button in flash to our local html pages. Right now both the swf and the home.html page are located on my desktop in a folder titled
I am using the flash which has welcome animation. inside the flash i have external links to html files. But when i want come back to home page(which is flash) from html page, I need my flash to start from home page not from introduction animation.So how can I link to the particular layer/clip without repeating introduction animation?
hey there guys im doing my final major poject for college in media and were making a set of films and making a flash interface to go with them i was just wondering how can i make links in flash that either link to a an localy saved Html document or a localy saved .mov? i know how to link them to a website but not a locally saved file?
I am having a nightmare using CSS to style HTML within a dynamic textfield in my flash doc. From what i now understand after much trial and error and reading online, CSS doesn't even work properly in flash even for the tags that it does understand (which are few and far between anyway). For some reason my layout is getting completely screwed up in certain scenarios (predominantly when there are images present too) when i hover over links (which are styled in an external CSS file). If i remove the external CSS styling (which only contains the following simple code):
Then everything works fine (but no links are underlined as standard or on hover). Does anyone know of any way to style the links without using an external CSS file (all i want to do is have no underline as standard and then underline them on hover). As this is from user input into a text editor I cannot place these links manually on the page in flash as they could be anywhere, I need a way of parsing the HTML and then displaying it accordingly.
im currently making a quiz with different questions and im trying to link the questions dynamix text to a xml or txt file heres an example for one question:
on my answer timeline i have for the buttons (one frame per question):
I am using flashmx 2004. I am creating a presentation where the main (suppose "main.swf" )movie has seven "lebels" on the timeline. I am require to link to external swf files for each lebel which I can do by using the button script :
on (release) { loadMovieNum("externalmovie1.swf", 0); }
I have made a menu bar and linked each separate swf file to the corresponding button. Upon testing my main movie, all the text on the main page is disappearing, the new swf file is not loading and the message 1120 error appears for all my buttons. I have checked the instance names and they match along with publish settings and folder settings. I cant understand why its not working
I've been so frustrated for the past 12 hours trying to get things to work on flash, one thing at a time. I came to a point where I am trying to do the simplest thing as embeding an external html file. I searched all over the net and found many threads tutorials, which none had what I needed. I basically have a html file with nothing but text, and a css file that styles it. How the heck do I embed that into flash, at a certain location, without is scrolling or anything like that?
When a user clicks on a link in the HTML page I want to place a SWF on the user's current page and load HTML content into the SWF (in a textArea). The HTML content comes from one of many HTML files sitting in a folder on the server, depending on the link that was clicked.
So obviously the link must contain the name of the desired HTML file. How can I take the contents of that file and send it to a SWF?
I dont know if anyone has hit the wall with this. I am trying to dynamically load a HTML page into a textfield and I want to use <img src='something.jpeg'>, but it does not work.Everything else seems to be loaded on the page but the image. No Errors nothing but no image neither
I import my text from a external text file, my text is in html but i have to use a (& n b s p ; ) space to make sure that a part of my text will not drop down on the following line.The (& nbsp; ) code is not understood by flash and make all the following text desappeared.
I have a text file containing html formatted text which I try to get into a textfield. All works fine locally and even on my localhost test server, but when uploading to the real server - I get a blank.
I have a blog that I insert swf video into via an iframe which references a CS4 published html page from my swf file. I would like to put html links into each individual blog post to act like a table of contents that someone could use to move to specific frames in my video.
I've spend a lot of hours researching this problem, and nothing has worked so far. I have a simple text file that I'm loading into a dynamic text box. I want to get one line spacing between the lines, not two like a carriage return seems to give me. So I understand the way to do this is with Html rendering. So I click the html render button for my text box, add a '<br />' to my text file, but still no good - it just displays the '<br />'
So there must be a million variations of questions and answers to this but I have yet to see one that works! Trust its nor for lack of trying as I think I have tried them all, so I am hoping by reposting this question that some one has found the answer. I've wracked my brain for the past 3 weeks an dthe closes i can come up with is this coding someone did in Flash 8 but aslas tis not complete or something.
code start-->
Quote:
// declare the LoadVars object that // loads in the external text myData = new LoadVars();
[Code]....
I have tested with the absolute URL, with and without extension (.html or .txt ) I have testes with just the filename, with and without extension again. The text box is Dynamic, with Multiline (with wrapping) and I did press the button that says allow html rendering.
I currently pull an html file into our site via iframe. (due to various factors, I cannot host the information in the html on our site and need to host it elsewhere). Is it possible to use a loader or other method to pull this information into flash?
I need to load contents of an external html document through AJAX. The problem is the external page has some Flash application embedded. Now I need to show this html with the embedded flash in my own webpage.
So I have a dynamic text field that is loading an external .txt file with html coding in it.I can get the text to load and display properly, however I now want to make a custom scrollbar and I have no clue how to even get it to work.I've tried a few things and just can't figure it out. I want to make a custom one instead of using the component one. It doesn't even have to be a traditional scrollbar, I would much rather just use an up and down arrows. In the past I've just used buttons and placed AS directly onto them.The code that is loading the text into the text box is: (I don't know if that will help at all but I'm posting it anyways)[code]
Simply put, what I'm trying to do is create a Dynamic Textfield with custom scroll bars via this tutorial [URL], that renders an external HTML file with CSS attached as its content instead of images like in the tutorial. I've tried a mix and match combination, ultimately, when I test the movie, the scroll bar works, but I see no content to scroll through. I have attached my project file. prototype.fla [ 80 KiB | Viewed 730 times ]
I'm trying to load an external html file into a dynamic text field. The dynamic text field has html display enabled. The html file contains a list of links in <a> tags, and nothing more. The dynamic text field is called 'dynamictext', and I've tried:
I have a flash animation of a glowing orb.Orb should always be dark, but should glow when i hover over menu items.SWF file is written using actionscript3.And menu looks something like this
I want my orb to glow whenever i hover over menuitem class. Should I link with jQ or should I create another SWF file for the menu and then link them together (if so, how do I do that).
I have a bunch of AS3 swfs. They are imported into an AS3 application using a Loader. On 10 or so different computers these AS3 swfs are imported as MovieClips and I can control them as necessary. However, on one computer no matter what I try (casting loader.content as MovieClip, remaking the AS3 swfs from scratch) they are always imported as AVM1Movies.All computers including the one that doesn't work are running Flash Player 10.
I got a new computer several days ago and it doesn't have Flash 8 or Higher. how to transfer Flash 8 programs from my old computer to my new computer? where to find free downloads of Flash 8 or higher?
I used Dreamweaver to embed my flash file into an html file, using "Insert-->Media-->Flash".When I preview the file, everything works fine, but when I upload the file to the web, the external links to my blog and e-mail will not work. Before, I just had the flash file up, with no html, and it worked fine.Url...
