My problem is that when the site loads the 1st time and click from the menu to go to the 2nd frame (1st content page) then i have to wait at about 3-4 seconds to load my html content. The same for the 3rd frame. If these two content pages load for the 1st time, then the pages open immediately. What can i do for this? Is there a way to open this content pages more quickly, or place a loader, and with what code?

Html :: Styling HTML Links Within A Flash File Without Using An External CSS File?
Mar 6, 2011I am having a nightmare using CSS to style HTML within a dynamic textfield in my flash doc. From what i now understand after much trial and error and reading online, CSS doesn't even work properly in flash even for the tags that it does understand (which are few and far between anyway). For some reason my layout is getting completely screwed up in certain scenarios (predominantly when there are images present too) when i hover over links (which are styled in an external CSS file). If i remove the external CSS styling (which only contains the following simple code):
a:link {text-decoration: none;}
a:active {text-decoration: none;}
a:visited {text-decoration: none;}[code]....
Then everything works fine (but no links are underlined as standard or on hover). Does anyone know of any way to style the links without using an external CSS file (all i want to do is have no underline as standard and then underline them on hover). As this is from user input into a text editor I cannot place these links manually on the page in flash as they could be anywhere, I need a way of parsing the HTML and then displaying it accordingly.

How can I remove / unload an external swf file from the main flash file and load a new swf file, while at the same time removing garbage collection from memory?

Dec 29, 2009I have been browsing here for a while & recently signed up, searched the forums but can't find exactly what i'm looking for because i'm an actionscript newbie..
Here's my problem I would like to load an external HTML image like so "<img src="http://image/dog.jpg" id="1" width="728" height="90" />"; but I am not sure how I can achieve this - the ID="1" is something someone gave me however I do not know if "1" has to be assigned in order for the image to load. I am very, very new to actionscript & I apologize if asking this insults anyone but if anyone can help me I would be very grateful - This has been bugging me for almost a week now & even when I try to pay for help no one can help me out.

May 28, 2007Structure: There is 1 main file that loads external SWF files depending on what is clicked on.One of the external SWF files loads its text from external text files. This works fine when viewing the SWF applet on its own. But when viewing as a whole site, the text doesnt appear. Very annoying.I made that particular SWF on my mums computer running Flash MX 2004The flash file itself uses the Scrollbar component from MX.Could someone tell me why the text doesnt load in this scenario? It runs fine on its own, just not as an external SWF.

Nov 20, 2009I have a html page with a flash element. The flash element loads in an external swf. This works fine when I'm testing from the swf, but when I test from my HTML page the external swf doesn't seem to load into my main swf.
I have all my swf's in a folder called "swf". The HTML document is at the root level. In my main swf the actionscript for loading the external swf is:

Some how the path to the external swf gets lost. I've tried new URLRequest("soundComponent.swf"); as well. And like I said, this all works from the swf, just not when viewing from an HTML page.

I came to a point where I am trying to do the simplest thing as embeding an external html file. I searched all over the net and found many threads tutorials, which none had what I needed. I basically have a html file with nothing but text, and a css file that styles it. How the heck do I embed that into flash, at a certain location, without is scrolling or anything like that?

Nov 17, 2011When a user clicks on a link in the HTML page I want to place a SWF on the user's current page and load HTML content into the SWF (in a textArea). The HTML content comes from one of many HTML files sitting in a folder on the server, depending on the link that was clicked.
So obviously the link must contain the name of the desired HTML file. How can I take the contents of that file and send it to a SWF?

Mar 27, 2011i'm building a website using flash. i have a external swf file that i want to import into my website. i thought this would be an easy task but for some reason when i load the movie, it flickers. my website (parent swf) was build using 1.0. The external form swf was build using 3.0. My approach:
1.create an empty movie clip called mcForm
2.go to the mc clip page i want to pull the external movie into
3. within my actions layer, I call the following function loadMovie("main.swf", mcForm);
If i write:
LoadMovieNum("main.swf",0);
then the my main.swf opens correctly but closes the parent swf file. I wan the main.swf file to be embeded within the parent file.

May 7, 2010Site loads two flash files at the same time with multiple dynamic text fields that load .html files with external css style sheets. The site works almost perfectly when viewed offline, but when you upload it the text boxes sometimes load and sometimes do not. I'm a graphic designer so I really don't know actionscript 3.0 (or any version) very well... so I'm attaching the footer .fla file which by itself suffers from the same problem, and the other files are too big to upload so here is the link to the other .fla file used on the homepage

Do they load progressively, or does the browser wait until the entire flash file is loaded before displaying it?The reason is I have a tiny clip that is extremely high in quality, only a few seconds long, but it's over 4 mb.Will the user have to wait until all 4 mb is loaded before viewing? Or does it load as the user watches it? I just imported a .flv into Flash, and exported as a .swf.
