ActionScript 3.0 :: Open The SWF That Was Created By Testing Movie In A Stand-alone Flash Player Or A Browser?

I am making a flash site and there is a main SWF which loads and unloads all other SWFs into and from it. For example, there are links to pages Home, Biography, Gallery, etc. When you click the Gallery link, gallery.swf loads and it is added to the main SWF.
So here's my problem: when I test my movie, everything works perfectly, but when I open the SWF that was created by testing movie in a stand-alone Flash Player or a browser, those SWF's sometimes don't load. If I click Biography link, for example, it usually doesn't load biography.swf but if I click Gallery link, which may or may not load gallery.swf, and then Biography link, there's a greater chance that biography.swf will be loaded.

I would like to open a separate swf file from with in flash, but by default, it opens the swf in a browser. I would like this file to open in a stand alone player not in the browser.How can I achive this? Right now I'm using the getURL() action. Is there a separate function for opening a file at a specified filepath?

I'm trying to communicate my SWF file with PHP using Zend_Amf. I compile the flash side using Flex SDK 4.Whenever I try to run the swf using the stand alone player (the projector), I always get a NetConnection.Call.BadVersion event. However, when running exactly the same file thorught the player of the browser (even not thoguht a server, just using the file:// kind of address), everything works OK, so I know my code is not completely wrong. However, I added the folder where my swf file is to the global trusted folder; and actually made sure that Security.sandboxType returns "localTrusted".

I'm working on a rather simple game and learning AS3 as I go along. I've come a pretty long way so far but now after adding some lines of code and changing a few - when testing my movie, Flash player starts and almost immediately crashes. I've went over the code I wrote, but all seems fine. Yet, being a complete newbie at AS3 and programming in general, it is very possible I'm missing the culprit.

[code]I open IMAGEURL.txt, which contains a variable named "img" with a value in it. I call that value and set it to myurl. Then, I load myurl's image into img_container.This works when I test the swf while flash open, but not while I test in the standalone swf thats exported on my computer, or on a browser. Something about internet settings came up as well, til I published to "allow network only".

I have a flex 3 application that creates an Image from a canvas which the user draws on. I use the ImageSnapshot class to create the image

I want the user to be able to print or save the image. I can use the following code to print the image but flex does not provide good control over printing across multiple pages

printJob.addObject(myCanvas, FlexPrintJobScaleType.SHOW_ALL);
I would like to display the image in a browser window so that the user could print it using the built in browser functionality or right click on the image and save it. Can this be done without requesting server side code to do it?

anyone know where i can get the release stand-alone flash player 9?
I am running Windows, and have the debug stand-alon flash player 9, but I want the release version to be used for this as it is faster at rendering and calculations. I just wanted it so I could replace my release stand-alone flash player 8 with it, so flash will then use this for me. I looked all over the internetz, and i only found the debug player.

I've followed several instructions on how to develop a simple iOS app. I've managed to go all the way through and Publish + create the .ipa. I'm able to then add the file to my iTunes library, but when I then try to add it to my iPod Touch (2nd Generation) I get the following error:
The app "XXXXXX" was not installed on the iPod "XXXXX's Ipod" because it is not compatible with this iPod.I've even tried it with a simple "Hello World!" app but I get the same error.I'm using Flash Pro Cs5.5 on a Windows PC.

Can a SWF file, viewed locally in a folder on my PC, make a call to a function in a JavaScript file?I am facing a project where the technical architect is prescribing that all content exist in an all-in-one, giant JavaScript file. With my usual external content experience working with XML, I have always been able to load in XML into the SWF directly (for example, while viewing the SWF in the Flash authoring environment - a very speedy way to view your SWF), as well as when the SWF is actually viewed in the website. However, with the JavaScript approach, my only experience tells me that the SWF has to be embedded in HTML before it has access to the JS functions.

I'm quite confused on what differences there can be between different versions of the flash player. Since I started coding my last game I've been testing it on chrome and firefox with good results (flash player 10.3.xxx). The memory needed to run it is always around 20 MB and also the cpu usage is pretty low. Also with the player 11 beta on ie the memory needed is around 50 Mb. But when i try to test it on the flash player 10 something is not working, the memory used by the game keeps growing and the garbage collection seems to be in holiday. Can this be related to the fact i'm coding it with the last cs5 (in as2)? Or since it's a board game i needed some listeners that could create this problem?

At the moment I'm using Selenium-Flex to write functional tests for a video playback app.At the moment, I need to test that the app behaves appropriately when switched to fullscreen mode - make sure that the control bar is in a reasonable spot, the video resizes appropriately, etc., and of course to do that I need an automated way to make Flash Player go fullscreen.
For good reason, Flash's security features prevent being able to fullscreen except in response to user input. Actual user input, a javascript callback being called does not count.Is there any way to disable this security feature on my test rig, so I can actually run my automated tests on fullscreen mode? Barring that, is there any way to put Flash into fullscreen mode externally, so I can hack it up to work that way?

I'm been working on a script for a while, and am just about finished. It plays a movie onscreen based on where the cursor is, then when the left mouse is clicked, it plays a new movie and then writes a file.
It works when I test the scene withing Flash (the app). However, when I save it off as a .swf, and then open it in Flash player it does not. The mouse cursor is still playing a movie onscreen based on where the cursor is, but the left mouse button won't do anything, nor will it write a file.
Am I supposed to open an Actionscript 3/Air app somewhere else, not the Flash Player? I want to make this standalone, not have to be launched as a test scene inside Flash to work.

Whenever I am trying to open a swf file (any swf file) or test a movie from the flash ide the internal player is blank and output has the msg error opening url "the path of the swf file here".This is not a problem that has to do with loading external files etc. It just refuses to open any swf file and ofc or test any movie cause it keeps saying error in opening url even in blank movies.
The simplest thing New File -> AS3 -> Test Movie -> Error in opening url I can publish the movie with no problem at all and I can run all the swf files outside of flash ide. I can debug movie from flash ide. I can html preview it from flash ide but i can't just hit cmd+enter to test the fraking movie.

which way to go to produce a swf that would function like a video player but with pictures?I would like to be able to load images and then use its sliders to 1) browse through images sequentially (similar to browsing through individual video frames on a timeline) and 2) beable to zoom without losing the ability to drag the picture in the view pane (ScrollPane doesn't work as when I change the size of its contents through myscrollpane.content.width, I can't drag it).

I work with 3d animation. Im have a problem with a personal website Im doing, I have a link in a button inside a flash movie to open a new window and play a youtube movie:

This works fine in Firefox but in IE it doesnt work, I then change the /v/ in the youtube link with /p.swf?video_id= and now I have the window open showing the small youtube thumbnail of my video but once a click play, nothing happens, I check it and is not loading anything.

I have a multi SWF movie that uses AS2 and is behaving differently in different browsers.The basic scenario is this . There is a root movie that acts as a control panel for user input. 1. It loads then parses some xml to determine how the interface should look (what images, radio buttons, etc. to display) 2. Then it loads and positions items on the stage ( rbs, thumbnails) 3. It loads child swfs
When the issue occurs step 2 is only partially completed and step 3 doesn't occur. No message about script error appears.

I am sure that I am missing something simple but I am doing an overhaul of a flash chat application that I wrote a few years back.I have everything humming along in Actionscript 3 and it works well when I test the .swf in Flash CS3 Pro but when I publish it and view it in the browser, I get no joy.I can see the flash plug-in retrieving the crossdomain.xml in my web server's root directory but in the browser, the XMLSocket Object fails to connect I installed flashpolicy server that is responding on port 843, but again, through the browser, the XMLSocket Object fails to connect.I have tried both Firefox and Safari browsers with the same result.I have swapped out the XMLSocket Object for the Socket Object and I am able to connect to my socket server, from within Flash CS3, but not from a browser.

While testing the movie within Flash,the Test Movie window randomly goes blank, showing the stage color. The movie is still running, there's no error, it's just blank. When I resize the Test Movie window,everything reappears... Until a few seconds later, when it snaps back to blank... so I resize, it reappears, it disappears, I resize, it reappears, it disappears... over and over.Resizing even just one pixel is enough to get it to come back. Sometimes it happens every few seconds.
This might be related to another issue: If I Test Movie with the Bandwidth Profiler on, Flash CS4 doesn't resize the window correctly to fit my entire movie in it, resulting in a big blank space underneath the Bandwidth Profiler, and that same amount of space being cutoff the bottom of my movie. I haven't seen anything like this in 10yrs of Flash development. This is a Mac Pro, 8-core. The graphics card is ATI Radeon HD XT 2600. 6GB RAM. 10.5.3-10.5.7
The same FLA works without any issues on CS4/XP. The FLA saved to CS3 works without any issues on CS3/OSX and CS3/XP (same machine).I have all but given up on CS4 for OSX. Between the crappy framerates, the crashing, and not being able to TEST MOVIE, I just avoid CS4 on OSX and use CS3 on OSX or CS4 on XP.

I have created a small flash project with 6 Scenes(two scenes contain flv clips 2 minutes each(1560 frames)). If I test each scene separately it runs perfectly, but when I try to run the whole movie it runs for 10 minutes "Exporting SWF Movie" and then stops without any errors or warning and without running project or creating swf file. I am using Adobe Flash Professional cs5.5.

Then I test my movie from inside flash 9 (ctrl+enter) the MC I just edited keeps in focus: When I test a game and press UP DOWN etc. The MC inside my fla is moving too, while the compiled swf is playing!
