I 'm trying to make it so an image will scroll with a specific line of text in a text field. I know that using delta of the scrollEvent will give me direction but everytime i try to increment and decrement the y value of the image the image doesn't follow the line of text perfectly it tends to "crawl" if you will.

I have a dynamic text field(DTF) consisting of many lines and DTF has vertical auto-scroll, here we say I have these three lines:
L1.....
L2.....
L3.....
Then I have three separate movie clips( originally images, say img1, img2, and img3).these images are added by as3 on the scrren, above my DTF.
Such this:
L1.......img1
L2.......img2
L3.......img3
How I can croll down my DTF such taht these images move accordingly with their corresponding text lines?For example while scrolling down my DTF then img1 should follow the same y-position as L1, and so on.
Im supposed to make a marquee that has curved dynamic text scrolling through it. I used the displacement map filter for this and it almost works. the only problem is that when the dynamic text field gets to a certain x position, the filter stalls, but the text continues to scroll. I made a scrollbar, but now I have a problem, need to read the number of lines of Dynamic text field and if it is greater than x show the scrollbar and hide if is less. Like this:

My problem is how do I count the total lines of dynamic text field after load a external text.
I am trying to make a feed backbox for visitors on my website. I have made the editable text field and scroll bar and set all of my preferences, but when the typing reaches the border on the right of the text field it just continues to type further horizontaly. I can start a new line by pressing enter but I would like it to start a new line on its own when it reaches the boundary.

I found several tutorials on creating the custom scrollBar, however, they don't include the buttons and I'm unable to find a tutorial on how to create a button scroller (I figured I could link them both to my "info_txt" after creating them separately).

View 2 RepliesWhen a Dynamic Multiple line text field is used in Flash CS3, it has a very annoying feature that auto inserts a line break at the end of inserted text. It also auto inserts a line break if no text is entered too.
I'm having a problem with this because the text is being saved from flash to a text file on the desktop. With every multi-line text field there's a nasty looking line break.
Any way of "turning off" this auto-line-break-at-the-end feature?

View 1 RepliesI have a text document which is several pages long and will use scrolling capabilities. This text document will be contained in an external swf. There will be 6 buttons on the main timeline which will all load the external swf with the text document but I would like the text to autoscroll to a specific postion/part of document that relates to that topic/button. Also, i would like the scrollbar to move in relation to position/part of document in case the user stays in the external swf and reads and scrolls through the document. Is this possible? I have searched for a tutorial on this but have found nothing. I have tried different things but nothing has worked.

Is there a way to pass the textfield A text to a dynamic text input (flash) as I'd like to use the font embedding flash offers. I can make it work when loading a value from a txt file but I'm not sure how to access the value identified above as KitGroupID_16_TextOption_38 and make it appear in a dynamic input box. Eventually I might want to have 3 font choices for the user but I'd like to just see if I can get this working properly first.

Basically, I'm designing a site for 800x600 and almost all of my stages are 800x600, but because of an abundance of text, I streched one stage to 800x1365.
I realize I could just put the text in a text field that would fit in the original 600 but I'd rather not to avoid the weird look when viewed on a computer with a bigger screen resolution.
How can I add a regular browser scroll bar to my SWF that will remain on the edge of the screen regardless of resolution and scroll down the entire stage?
I'm trying to get the cursor to start in a specific text field a la:

When previewing just the swf: * The cursor doesn't blink, but the text field is selected.* After entering text, pressing backspace doesn't work, you need to press shift+backspace to delete text.
When previewing the swf embedded in html in a browser: * The cursor doesn't select the text field automatically - I need to click on the swf then hit tab, or select the text field directly.
So really, I'm looking to get it so that when the swf is loaded in html, it pops up with a blinking cursor in that text field, and I thought the setFocus would do that, but it's not working for me.
I am having trouble with the scroll bar component with a text field on a website. I made a text field and am dynamically loading html text into the field. On one page I have a single text field with a single html document loaded into it. On another page I have a single text field that has buttons to swap out the html documents to view different docs. When test the movie in Flash everything works fine. When the files are uploaded online the text scroll bars disappear on both pages for the single doc and the other page with multiple docs, and I can't scroll them.

View 2 RepliesI have created a flash file using XML to populate a dynamic text field. I have a UIScrollBar componant added to my text box to scroll through the XML. The movie works fine both when testing the movie in flash and when I access the file that is stored locally through IE. As soon as I upload the file to my server, however, the scrolling functionailty no longer works. The XML is visible on the site and it is possible to scroll using the mouse wheel; the bar itself, however, appears to be disabled for some reason.

Since it's too much long I've used a default scrollbar and simply dropped it onto the field so that It's linked to that. When I try it the bar is there but I can just see the upper arrow and the bottom one; the middle part isn't visible and I can't scroll down the HTML content.

View 1 RepliesI've got a dynamic html text field in flash which pulls content from an XML file, which is being generated by a CMS using CK Editor. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but flash represents a <br/> tag with a space that seems more fitting for a <p> tag, and a <p> tag renders with about double that amount. How do I control this? I've tried specifying margins in the flash css file, but it has no effect. Is there something I can declare in the actual actionscript code?
