ActionScript 3.0 :: StartDrag Breaks When Rotation Applied?

I have narrowed my issue to this. If you create a sprite add a square and a startDrag on press to that sprite. then add that sprite as a child to a container sprite. Create a button on the same level as the container sprite and add a mouse click listener that causes container sprite to rotate using rotationY or X. Now run it, first you will notice you can drag the square no prob. Once you hit the button and rotate your container using rotationY or X the drag does not work. Other properties such as x, y , alpha can still be set but startDrag or stopDrag. I think this is a bug as I have found several people reporting on this but not solution.
I experience some sort of a bug when trying to dynamically mask an object to which I have applied rotationY with an object which is also applied rotationY.
I have a stage with and height of :600x400 On this stage i have 3 squares that have a centerpoint in the middle. The square are 90 (width) and 80 (height)The first square is aligned to the left site and the second one in the middle and the third one on the right The perspectiveProjection is setup using the middle of the stage as it projectionCenter.When i rotate all squares to 90 degrees (rotationY) than only the middle one is now not visible anymore, at that point i want to switch the image inside the square. But at 90 degrees the left and right squares are not invisible.. For the left square that point wouldbe at 90 - 22, and the right one 90 + 22. Is there a way to calculate the correction value (22) in this example?
What i don't want is to give every square it's own perspectiveProjecten , then it would work but you have a completely different3D rotation.The only thing that goes wrong in my example is that the image from the left and right square are not changed at the right time, because 90 degrees on the left square does not mean it it not visible at that point.
i have an .as class that extends mx.containers.Canvas (it's a draggable border of a resizable component), it becomes draggable on MOUSE_DOWN and stops being draggable on MOUSE_UP, MOUSE_OUT and ROLL_OUT. before calling startDrag() i create a Rectangle to define the drag area, i also have a _dragging: Boolean variable to control if it's draggable at the moment. the problem is that when i click this border it jumps to a negative coordinate without calling startDrag or switching _dragging to true.
i've overriden get x, set x, get y, set y and move() methods in order to solve it but the only thing i got was the fact that position changes without calling coords setters or move(), but at the moment it's changed a getter is called and returns new (negative) value so my question is what happens on startDrag() and how to filter unwanted incoming coords values?
as you can see, I have a container MC which I have added to the stage. I set its drag constraints using a Rectangle(). I then add the 'cat' child movieclip to the container, and I want this to be dragable too. However, as soon as I click on my cat when testing the MC. It shoots to point x=0 y=0 on the stage and doesn't move.
The container MC can be moved without any trouble.
If I remove the rectangle bounds from the containers startdrag() function. both MC's can be dragged without any issue.
I have a movieclip and when I do 3D rotation from Transform panel, It rotates perfect, center is in the middle of image, and when I apply mc.rotationY, rotation center is in left of the image, aren't 3D rotation from Transform panel and mc.rotationY from AS same? what's up?
I'm trying to do some augmented reality projects with flartoolkit . I can now put simple 3d objects on my marker and it works fine , but I wanna give my project some events that the user can interact with. I'm trying to trace the rotation of the marker. there's a container:DisplayObject3D which my application uses to add the 3d objects , I traced this :"trace(container.rotationZ)" but it's just returning 0 . I studied another AR application's source code and it was using the rotation of it's container object without problem .and I think I should mention that I'm using the exercise file of seb lee delisle papervision3d course from [URL]. anyone has any experience with flartoolkit? the main functions of my my code is as below:
Is it possible to have the child movieclip rotate separate of the rotation properties assigned to the parent? so ultimately giving the child element it's own axis?I've customized Lee Brimelows (gotoandlearn.com) 3D carousel to spin on the x axis to make it a vertical carousel. I've also rotated that by 45 degrees on the y axis to see all the items, and wrote a snippet of code to hide the left portion of the carousel. The entire carousel is contained within the 'container' movieclip, and inside of that are my carousel items (as seen below), with the larger item being the item in focus.
On rollover of the item in focus, I want to rotate it so it faces the viewer (as seen below),basically removing the 45 degree rotation applied to the container.The problem i'm running into is when you rotate the container (changing the rotationX of the container), the axis basically rotates with it, so when i rollover the next item 'in focus', the following happens..(in the example where it appears how it want it to, the carousel is at a rotationX of 0, so it works fine)
Program A has a cannon that aims to line up with where-ever the mouse is pointing, in 360 degrees, and fires when the mouse is is clicked. Program B has an eye instead of a cannon that should in theory do similar functions when the capslock key is toggled, but instead only has a 90 degree range of motion from the Right of the eye toward the bottom (quadrant 4 only). Where did the ther 270 degrees of rotation disappear to?
i.m trying to create a 3d rotation much like the widely used carousel only the rotation i desire consist of four upright(90 degrees) movieclips resting on a slanted, 30 degree plane which rotate onEnterFrame or following a tween on a oval like path - then pause for a given number of seconds at the four movieclips positions equal in distance on the plane

I am watching the tutorial on the motion editor and when he opens the motion editor to edit the Rotation X and Rotation Y values I'm in trouble.My motion editor now only shows Rotation Z but, no Rotation X or Rotation Y. What am I doing wrong?
I am trying to do a simple "pseudo 3D" rotation of a movie clip. The clip would "flip" on to the screen. I have created the effect using PaperVision3D, however, the final SWF is about 64k and my project requires a smaller file size. I tried to create the flip effect manually by creating skewed versions of the clip and tweening between them, except this doesn't work because the shape is not tweaked along the vanishing point as it should be. It looks like perhaps I could accomplish what I want to do using the MatrixTransformer but I've not had much luck so far.
I have a short TEXT that I turned into a symbol, it is a MovieClip on the stage. I applied a preset motion of blur fly in to it and it does fly in but does not blur. I tried to use the motion editor to increase a blur to 255 but even when I add it on the initial keyframe, there is NO blur.
I'm not quite sure why the external CSS is not being applied to the text field. Does my cssLoaded function need to be triggered elsewhereFirst, the CSS:

Now the text is succefully being loaded into the dynamic text field and also in the trace statement i get "success loading css" so it looks like the css is loading as well...Also the font Verdana has been embedded in the movie(so shudnt be a problem in that respect)..and the button render as html is pressed!!So why is the class not being applied to the word "Education"?
i've been trying to get to grips with OOP and have so far managed to comprehend the basics of classes, methods, properties, the constructor function and property inheritance, helped by a number of examples and tutorials from the web and Moock's Actioncript - The Definitive Guide (O'Reilly). however, i've reached a sticking point when i try to apply these principles to actual movieClips. i want to attach movies from the library and control their properties using OOP, but i cannot work out how to apply the custom properties i've created to them. for example, i have a constructor Ball, with a property move, and i want to create movie clips ball1, ball2, ball3... which have properties such as radius and speed.

I've got an AS3 loader making a Get URLRequest on the local machine (not browser based). The URL being reported back has this:[url]explain why [[DYNAMIC]]/3 is being appended to the URL at runtime? No encryption has been applied to the swf file. What does [[DYNAMIC]] mean?
but when I assign the new StyleSheet to the TextField it throws an exception stating that I cannot assign a style to an element already containing a style.
I have a mc that contains dynamic text field... My mc is animated in the main timeline..Now I load text from xml and then asign to textbox and I apply stylesheet to it.But when stylesheet is applied my mc that contains that text cant be animated..
I am in flash 8. I am working on a simple button symbol and the actions panel is showing "Current selection cannot have actions applied to it" and the options are unavailable".
I have instances of a button and I cant seem to add any actions to them! I just get the message in the topic title. I have another flash file that has buttons with actions applied to them, but this one wont let me!
How do I clear a filter after having applied it to an object. In particular, I'm bluring an object while animating it but want to clear the blur once it's hit the destination mark.[code]
