but when I assign the new StyleSheet to the TextField it throws an exception stating that I cannot assign a style to an element already containing a style.
I am make an input textfield via actionscript and then applying a textformat, cannot type in it.
Code: var format = new TextFormat(); with (format) { font = "Tahoma"; size = 8; bold = true; [Code] .....
It not only puts it in the box(neatly formatted the way i like), I can also erase it and type what i want in the box. Also if i comment out the embedFonts line, it works too (obviously without formatting).
I have several Sprites that are all combined in one parent Sprite. The parent Sprite then gets a Glowfilter applied and should then be masked by a Textfield.
Everythings working fine but as soon as I apply the Filter to the Sprite nothing shows... However, if I apply the Filter to every single Object that the Sprite contains, it works...
I have some textfields generated from code, and if I apply a drop shadow filter on them, sometimes the right or the bottom part of the textfields' border just disappear.
I created a MovieClip symbol in flash containing a dynamic TextField and a background. I exported it in a SWC(using this method) and I'm trying to use it from flex. When I try to change the default value of the text field the new value is not displayed(indeed the default value I put in flash is cleared on screen, but in the debugger it shows that the new value is set in the text field)
I'm making a form and I add a DateField, and I would like to change the background font of the textField where the date selected is written but I don't know what I should change, I try with backgroundColor, Color, ColorFont and I just get to change the color of the text.
I've got a flash document using AS3. It dynamically reads data from an XML file, and creates a bunch of single line textFields. Could be like this:
<XMLdata> <Line>this is line 1</Line> <Line>this is line 2</Line> <Line>this is line 3</Line> </XMLdata>
So, for each node, it would create a new TextField, and change the textField.y value so that they are "stacked" on top of each other. All this if fine, except that if you hae so many "lines" (or textfields) that the "stack" is taller than the Flash Document size. What I would like to do is have a scroll bar or something so you can scroll the stack of TextFields. Doesnt' even need to be a scroll bar. Maybe an arrow button at the bottom, and when you click on it, it scrolls down. One for up too.
My scene has a TextField object. I set up my TextField as DynamicText because I need to change it programmatically.
How do I prevent mouse cursor change to I-Beam form when it's above TextField? Also, user of my flash application is able to select text of this TextField using mouse cursor. I would like to disable this behavoiur too.
To situate things I am working on a translation utility with a datagrid having 3 columns : translation code, reference text and target text.
The DataGrid's dataProvider property is bound to an ArrayCollection instance. The user can edit the grid and on a successful edit, the underlying collection is updated using the setItemAt() method. The collection also has a filter function to make it easier to find certain texts.
When the user clicks the 'apply filter' button the filter function is updated. This works well. The problem I have is that rows are hidden as soon as the underlying collection item change in a way that doesn't comply with the filter. The row is hidden immediately, which is not very user friendly. Rows should only hide (or be shown) when the 'apply filter' button is pressed.
I load image to control than I applie some effects, and when I save image it's saving without effects. What should i do?
Here is the code:
private var byteArr2:ByteArray; private var fileRef:FileReference = new FileReference(); public function process():void
[Code].....
UPDATE Appears new problem as I am using var data:BitmapData = new BitmapData(currImg.width, currImg.width); saved image is small(size like image control) but I need to save image with original size. With var data:BitmapData = Bitmap(currImg.content).bitmapData; it worked
I am observing a problem with how an embedded font is applied to certain Flex components, namely mx:Label and mx:DataGrid. I have a CSS that declares three variations on an embedded font as follows:
@font-face { src:url("buttons.swf");
[Code].....
(I've snipped some stuff from both style rules, so if you think there's something that may be causing a conflict I can certainly post the entire definition. It's mostly color, line and padding stuff for the DataGrid.)
The problem that is for both Label and cells in the DataGrid the text is being rendered as sort of a times new roman font. The headers in the DataGrid are fine, just the text in the cells is wonky. All other components use the correct font as defined in the CSS/SWF.
My Dataprovider for a grid is an arrayCollection which is dynamically loaded with Objects . for example : a person object with persionID,PersonName ..etc . I applied a filter function on my dataprovider based on personID . below is my function
public function FilterFunc(item:Object):Boolean { var same:Boolean=String(item.personID ) == filterpersonID ; return same;
[Code]....
this function is called whenever a new object is being added to the arraycollection . The problem now is dp.length in the above function is returning only the no of objects of the particular personID on which the filterFunction was applied instead of the absolute value . Its not limiting the size of the other objects which are runnning into thousand's causing memory issues . once i change the filterFunction to different personID , it slowly starts limiting the respective personID objects. So the sizeHandler() limits only the personID objects for which filterfunction was applied instead of the whole objects , this is the problem .
I'm testing some font embedding in Flex 4. Using the tutorial below (modified a bit), I'm loading in fonts via compiling CSS into SWFs. [URL] When I apply those styles to my Flex components all is well, however, I need to add an AS3 component to my Flex app. This component has some Flash text fields in it. The only way I know to embed fonts in AS3 is completely different and I believe requires another load. What I want to know is if there is any way that the text fields in my AS3 component can use the same styles and embedded fonts that the Flex components are using.
I'm having issues with implementing a flex button componentI have applied a CSS style to button and set border-color to, say #555555.So far, it works as expected.Then, when my application is resized, the border of the button component becomes blurred and its width automatically changes from 1 pixel to 2 pixels, which doesn't look very well.hen I maximize the app again, after the border is blurred, the buttons' border becomes 1 pixel and looks nice.
how would the 3-tier architecture be applied in a Rich Internet Application?I thougt that flex was presentation, .net web services where busines and informix was data. But then when I started I feel that I must be wrong.
How can I make a button that, when pressed, changes a textfield (with a scrollbar) to a different textfield (with a scrollbar) in the same place? Essentially (I think), using a button to swap an element and make it fade in or out.
From what I understand you can change the alpha value of a textfield to be fully transparent. I would like to have chat output that fades after a while. I was wondering if there was a way to change just a portion of the string inside of a text field to transparent. The textColor does not have an alpha value. I could just use multiple text fields but I would like to avoid doing that if possible for efficiency sake.
I'm new to this and I'm following a tutorial on Kongregate.com that teaches you the basics of making a flash game. This is what the tutorial said to do:
I have a textfield which loads dynamic text. After this text is loaded i want to be able to change the size/position of the field with the click of a button. (To a set value, not for the user to drag bigger etc).
When adding textFields dynamically, as well as the TextFormat, it seems that the textFormat needs to be applied every time the text is changed. So if I have:
TxtFld.text = 'This is some text'; txtFld.setTextFormat(txtFormat);
That works. But, if i add the line:
txtFld.text = 'This is the new Text'
Then the format is lost. How can I make it so that I can change the text of the textfield, and not lose the formatting I've already applied?
I have create a clock which displaying in TextField named clock_txt. I want flash to do some thing when one more minute is added. Can I monitor this change and how?
I have a textfield which loads dynamic text. After this text is loaded i want to be able to change the size/position of the field with the click of a button. (To a set value, not for the user to drag bigger etc).i have tried
I'm trying to make a static class that will change the text written in a TextField inside a SWF file.
In this case I have a MovieClip with a TextField inside with a message. I want to be able to make a class that giving this TextField and a message, that will change in the button.
Certainly that I'm forgetting something obvious, I get the correct trace messages, but the textfield disappears. The initial text is "Start" and I want to change that to "OK". For now I just want to change the text, but after I want to be able to change the text format.
So far I have this:
package { import flash.display.MovieClip; public class ChangeTextField extends MovieClip
How can I change the select ("highlight") color of an TextField in actionscript 3? I've got an input textfield with white text on a black backdrop and as a result, selections are invisible, which is horrible for usability.
I have this code that should change the color of a dynamic textfield when I rollover the link movieclip, and then back when I rollout. I get no compiler error, it just doesn't work.
