i have dragged a video player from another swf, when i goto the next page the video keeps playing, unless i press the pause button,
i want it to stop if i exit the current frame.
it isn't such a big problem bur for a beginner like me it is.I have a movie clip called "Lion_beginning_mc", inside of it I have 3 Key Frames and Inside each and one of them I have different shapes.For example:Key Frame number 01 - DogKey Frame number 02 - CatKey Frame number 03 - MouseI want to move this movie clip "Lion Beginning_mc" form Key frame number 1 to Key frame number 20.I want the Dog,Cat and a mouse to change between each other only once while moving from Key Frame number 1 to 20.And then when the movie clip "Lion Beginning_mc" reaches his goal another movie clip or a frame (with a shape) will start.

The FLV works just fine, auto plays when entering the frame and uses a preset skin. The frame it's playing on has AS code stop(); on it.
i created a two layer in time line in one layer there is a movieclip called mc1. In the same layer in 15th frame i have another movie clip mc2. Inside the movieclip mc2 i created another movie clip at frame10 now if i clik the the mc1 on first frame The movie clip should goto and stop at tenth frame

The problem is, if someone is playing the video and goes to another part of the flash movie, the video keeps playing or loading in the background. The video image doesn't show, but i can hear the audio or see in the browser that it is still loading.
How can i kill the video from loading once the playhead moves from the frame that the video player is on (it is sitting on a single frame)?
I have added 4 different sound files to 4 different frames that are navigated via buttons. The problem i have is that if you navigate to another frame while one sound file is still playing the sound file continues over the next frame and the sounds clash. What i need to do is have the sound files stop once the frame is exited so is there a simple way to do this in AS3...
View 3 Repliesi am building a flash web site using the goto and stop method, with each "page" of the website being a different frame. on one page i have a music player, and it all works fine, and if you press stop before leaving that "page" or frame it all works well.the problem i've run into is if you go to another frame while the music player is still playing the music continues playing and when you go back to the frame the music player is on and press stop it doesnt do anything and if you press play it will start playing the song again with both songs playing over eachother.how to stop the music from playing when you exit that frame. here's the code for the music player:

I have to stop a movie clip named handle on a perticular frame. I am using _root.handle.stop();
So what I'd like is for when someone presses the button, it instructs a movie clip to play - all this is based on what day of the month it is..in this example, it's today. The date part of this script works fine. If I just write "if (candleDay =='17') {_root.candles.gotoAndStop(23);}the script works fine...but I'd like the in between stuff. I have the movie clip stopped on frame 1 and I want it to play from frame 2 and stop at frame 23 if it's the 17th...in fact I'll have more if statements to go along with all this, but that's just cut and paste..So, I would like my movie clip, if it reaches a certain frame to STOP. In other words, if it's the 17th, play this movie clip BUT if the movie clip hits frame 23, stop the movie clip....why isn't this working? Here's the script that needs debugging:

I have an FLV video loaded as an "external video with play back component" in my Flash site. It works pretty well, even loads fast regardless its 15MB size. The video located on its labeled section which has an "X" button which closes this section and brings a user back to the page with all the video sections. However once the labeled section with the video is closed the sound is still playing.Does any one know how to make it stop if the section with the video has been exited?Then go to HOW TO section and click on the link "here" for "The Arrangement" show it will bring you to the section with the video loaded as an "external video with play back component" in my Flash site.

I have created the rollover and rollout for this movie clip button but i want it to do 2 things after this i want it to go and stop on the first frame of a movieclip which has my content on it called portfoliogallery_mc (which is also the same instance name for it) when you then click the button i want it to go and play frame 11 of that movie clip portfolio gallery_mc. i'm making a rollover menu with AS3, and when the user mouse clicks I want it to go to a certain frame in a movie clip and stop. It does this fine, however I have an animation for it to play on Mouse out. So when user mouse clicks then mouse outs from the button area it plays my mouse out animation and i'm back to square one. How can i tell it to ignore the mouse out animation if the user has clicked the button?

Although it throws no errors, the setInterval is ignored and it just loads direct into the next mc clip.
if it is possible to have an exit button in an embedded flash SWF in powerpoint that will exit out of the flash presentation and advance to the next slide in the Powerpoint? I want them all to be able to play at once. So for example you push button 1 and the alien plays, but half way through you could click button 2 and the alien clip would keep playing, but also the helicopter clip would begin to play as well.Here is the code I have so far:

I am trying to get a Flash movie I created to stop looping in my browser AFTER loading it into Dreamweaver. Here's what I've tried:
a) Place an AS3 "Stop();" at the end of the action script for the file (in Flash CS4).
b) Publish with "Loop" in HTML tab unchecked.
c) Open the tandem created .html file in my browser (Firefox)......and the movie plays then stops as hoped
d) Open Dreamweaver CS4
e) Import the swf file into a blank HTML page and Save the file.
f) Test the document in my browser. Movie plays, but the movie continues to loop.
as mentioned above, how can I stop the movie from looping after it's embedded in my web page in Dreamweaver? Is this a Dreamweaver 'problem' rather than a Flash one? The DW help file says to use Flash to control the loop....

View 1 RepliesI am importing a movie clip as a symbol from a SWF using Embed to a AS3 program and, after attaching the movie clip to the stage, the movie clip keeps repeating. Before you ask I have indeed creating a script layer and put a "stop()" on the last frame. In fact the swf containing the symbol works perfectly fine when executed on its own or in Flashdevelop (my choosen IDE). Its only when imported does the clip keep repeating.Here is the code:

I have a show reel page on my server which shows two movies. Page one has text info and two buttons to direct viewer to which ever movie they want to view. Each movie is on its own page in the flash file (page2 and page3) and is not embedded in swf (pulled from server on request).
If you click on one movie button then change your mind and go to the second one then thats ok, but if you then decide to click back to your first choice then the crap hits the fan, that first movie is still running and hasn't returned to beginning. Visually you just get the green loading bar freaking out.
So I need some code to stop the FLV player each time viewers exit from one of the movies.

i have a movie clip with a dynamic text field being animated...i have a text file with this in it
&textline1=time
&textline2=place
&textline3=year
&textline4=month
now how do i make the movie clip to first go from frame 1 to 10( last frame in teh movieclip) with the text time and then when the movie clip starts again it should say place and so on and so forth.. depending on how many textline variables i define in the text file?
