I am having some trouble to find AS3 information in the Adobe livedocs, and seems that sometimes I need to 'guess' things. For instances, I was looking for a property that could return me the path of a loaded picture, and I just found it because I tried the 'url' property by myself (I didnt find it documented this way anywhere). Does anybody out there know where to dig these small treasures?

View 3 RepliesI'm building an application that is simulair to a realtime world clock. I want to be able to show the current day of the year and the current second of the year. Based on those variables I will calculate realtime data basd on data that I will put into the application monthly. I have written a script, but it's not very accurate. I think the time part of the script is slipping for some reason. Plus I have to account for leap years.

is there a custom component that extends DateChooser that only has the month and year but not the date grid to select a specific day. All i need is the month and year not any specific day. if the month is changed i could use the change event to select the 1st day of that month

The user may change the Month/Year but there is no point in choosing a date for the month as it is going to show the entire month anyways. So is there a way to maybe make the DateChooser date always the first and only allow the user to pick the month and year?

I want a to user a DateChooser to allow a user to select a date in a given month and year. I want to set the month and year programmatically and only allow the user to select the date/day. I can do this for the year easily by setting the minYear and maxYear to whatever year I want, but I am not seeing a strait forward way of disallowing the user to select a different month?

Is nearly right, but it seems to be a couple of days out - If I run it as at today (Feb 23rd 2011), It gives me 310 days till the end of the year, whereas (by counting on all my fingers and toes) I get 313 days.
does anyone know a formula that can convert the current time/day to the day of the year or seconds?

View 2 RepliesWhy does this program always output the text for "future" from function year()? In this case, with b+c equaling 56, var year should fall under (b+c) > 0 && (b+c) < 1000) and return "roman", but it instead returns "future"...I got this to successfully work if I add this:

and in my body function, make the conditionals check the period. For example
if (period == "future")
but I don't understand why I need to do this. I am returning a string, why do I have to set another variable? There is no compiler errors so clearly its not syntactical?

which everything seems fine, but when i implement a slider on a page inside a folder in the root (i.e. aboutus/index.aspx) i get that error when the slider is trying to call the images.I have similar slider animations in pages located in the root folder and in those i get no problem at all, seems it only happens when the page is located inside a folder.The website is done using main.master on asp, maybe the cache or rendering of the website is missing something, hope someone has had something similar or know how to get around this.

What I need from this code is the following:
a. to pick up the mic activity level, read it, and based on the number put out a line
b. it to be kept to a minute, after the minute the screen is cleared and it plays back the lines and sounds that had been generated.
c. that nothing appears when the mic.activityLevel is 0
d.that when lines hit each other, a sound is made
I don't care if there is no playback, but right now I can't even get the lines to appear and I need the sounds to play when the lines hit each other.
I'm making a system to upload photos to a gallery. I'm using filereference, and it's working alright. I can upload like 20 files fine sometimes.. but when I do like 50, it starts giving me errors on over half the files.
The error is: Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2038: File I/O Error.
This may be a php error, or server error, I'm not sure. Because the file isn't even uploading at all.
I have an swf that sends info to a PHP file which in turn gets a SWF to FLV converter running. If I try this with a small 1kb swf file it works great and returns the results with in 5 seconds.However now that I step it up to convert the files in which it was intended, files ranging around 2 mbs, I get this error..
